Patent number: 9477237Abstract: A method of controlling a regulator with a pilot device includes periodically detecting an outlet pressure at an outlet of the regulator with a feedback pressure sensor. The method also includes comparing each detected outlet pressure with a set-point control pressure. Additionally, the method includes opening an exhaust valve when a detected outlet pressure is greater than the set-point control pressure so that a loading gas, which is applied to a top surface of a diaphragm of the regulator, exhausts out through the exhaust valve to reduce loading on the diaphragm. The method further includes sensing a loading pressure in the outlet port with a loading pressure sensor after opening the exhaust valve and comparing the loading pressure to a predetermined minimum threshold pressure. When the loading pressure is equal to or less than the predetermined minimum threshold value, the method includes closing the exhaust valve.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2014Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: TESCOM CORPORATIONInventors: Gordon Cameron Muir, Timothy Patrick Franzwa

Patent number: 9477277Abstract: An apparatus includes a system test module that initiates a system power test for a computer system. The computer system includes one or more power supplies that provide power to system components. The system power test includes determining power system characteristics under various loading conditions. The apparatus includes a configure module that configures a system component during the system power test. The system component uses a higher amount of power after being configured than in a previous un-configured condition. The apparatus includes a de-configure module that de-configures the system component during the system power test. The system component uses a lower amount of power after being de-configured than in a previous configured condition. The apparatus includes a diagnostic module that measures power system performance of the computer system during varying loading conditions caused by configuring and de-configuring one or more system components by the configure module and the de-configure module.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2013Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: GLOBALFOUNDRIES INC.Inventors: Marc H. Patent number: 9477279Abstract: A data storage system is implemented with an active power monitoring and control performed by a control node elected among a number of nodes. A real-time power monitoring information is supplied to the control node from, a power monitoring logic residing at each device in the system. The devices in the data storage system are pre-allocated with respective individual power budgets which are below the maximum power usage thereof. The power budgets of all the equipment cumulatively constitute a power budget assigned to the group of equipment. The control node controls dynamically and in real time power sharing between the plurality devices so that the devices with required power usage below the pre-allocated power budget can share their extra power credits with devices which are in need for extra power for performing its operation.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2014Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: DataDirect Networks, Inc.Inventors: Michael J. Distributed information technology infrastructure dynamic policy driven peak power management system
Patent number: 9477281Abstract: A peak power management system for networked smart IT devices. These smart devices have computing capability with at least one CPU and memory and can be networked. An uninterruptible power supply provides power to the smart devices. A central intelligent power management server controls the power consumed by all the smart devices networked with the server. The system uses priority based peak power management policies for smart IT devices assisted by fine grain control of external power drawn by each device. By applying different power management policies at different scheduled intervals and controlling the power consumption on the smart devices, the aggregated peak power demand is controlled. The policies can be adapted in-time to suit the actual, real-time power requirement of devices, their priorities, and applicable peak power limit at that time. Also, dynamic policy based peak power management can be extended to an intelligent hierarchical power distribution network.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2014Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: Vigyanlabs Inc.Inventors: Srinivas Varadarajan, Srivatsa Krishnaswamy, Sanjaya Ganesh Hariharan -
Patent number: 9477282Abstract: A power supply method includes providing a plurality of output powers to a plurality of power devices (PDs); acquiring a plurality of power statuses of the PDs (power devices); calculating a summation of the output powers provided to the PDs (power devices); determining whether the summation of the output powers exceeds a predetermined threshold; and under a condition that the summation of the output powers exceeds the predetermined threshold, adjusting the output powers provided to the PDs (power devices) based upon the power statuses of the PDs (power devices).Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2015Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: ACCTON TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventor: Wei-Hsiang Huang
