The functioning of the section control system is monitored by sensors that directly detect the control member position as opposed to sensing the commanded position of the control member. An operator is notified of inconsistencies between the commended position of the control member and the sensed position.

The shield covers gaps between the collar and the trimmer head and between the collar and the adjacent trimmer component. The assembly reduces exposure to pinching gaps and to powered rotating parts that enable tight windings that can accumulate to lock trimmer rotation.

The cutting disks of the mowing elements work together with a frame-affixed counter-blade and can be driven together with the corresponding conveyor rotors by a shaft. The shafts are driven by a gear arrangement that extends, on the front side, over the width of the cutting mechanism. The frame of the cutting mechanism can include a middle part and lateral parts that are placed so they can swivel, on the middle part, between a horizontal operating position and a raised transporting position.

An active suction unit correlated with the mower component group deflects an air flow, oriented from the mower component group in a first direction toward the still standing crop, in a second direction in which the crop is no longer loaded by the air flow.

Abstract: The systems and methods described herein adjust harvest characteristics by selecting one or more harvest characteristics according to the location of a harvester within a field. For example, the selection includes determining the location of the harvester within the field, associating the location with a corresponding zone of a plurality of zones in the field where each of the plurality of zones corresponds to a respective crop planted within the field (for instance a hybrid type), and assigning one or more harvest characteristics to a harvest operation according to at least the corresponding zone and the respective crop within the corresponding zone. Harvest operations are conducted with the assigned one or more harvest characteristics. The systems and methods described repeat selecting the one or more harvest characteristics as the harvester changes location within the field according to further examples.

The hygienic honey bee bottom board effectively diminishes small hive beetles in a bee hive without significant pollen loss. The invention has a solid bottom board platform with screened receptacles. Hygienically inclined bees instinctively chase small hive beetles into the screened receptacles in an effort to clean the hive. The small hive beetles fall through the screened receptacles into a beetle trap disposed below the bottom board receptacles and are thus removed from the hive with minimal disturbance of the hive. The screened receptacles of the hygienic honey bee bottom board comprise only a limited area of the otherwise solid bottom board platform. This allows worker bees to retrieve substantial amounts of pollen dropped onto the solid bottom board platform for use as foodstuff.
