An intermediate region and a distal region of the ring finger and middle finger receiving portions of the glove includes a first and second insert affixed to both the inner and outer sides of each. The concealed stretch back layer comprises a stretch panel and a shell panel joined together and to the outer shell layer.

The waistband has a pocket that is further formed by a third and/or fourth layer of material. The pocket has an opening that accesses a space inside the pocket and a pocket depth between the opening and the first edge, and the pocket obfuscates the contents therein.

Abstract: A multilayer fabric for selectively blocking or transmitting particular wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum, such solar radiation, and far infrared (FIR) radiation. The multilayer fabric may include a microporous water vapor permeable layer that selectively filters particular wavelengths depending on the size of its pores. In some embodiments, the multilayer fabric may include a nanostructured layer that selectively filters particular wavelengths.

Abstract: A water proof moisture management garment and a method of constructing such a garment in accordance with the present invention utilizes at least three layers. An outer layer may comprise a stretch woven textile treated with a durable water repellant finish. The outer layer may be micro-perforated to permit perspiration to evaporate through the micro-perforations. An inner layer may comprise a moisture management textile to facilitate the transport of perspiration away from the skin of a wearer. An intermediate layer may bond the outer layer to the inner layer. The intermediate layer may provide holes to permit the evaporation of perspiration from the inner layer through the micro-perforations of the outer layer.

The ends of the panels may be reconfigurable between a first configuration where the panels lay flat over one another and a second configuration, where the panels are manipulated to no longer lay flat over one another to define at least one opening. One of the panels may include a non-resilient material coupled to at least one of the panels proximate to the end of the panel to aid the user in threading earbuds through the at least one opening at least partially defined by the non-resilient material.

Abstract: A face shield, such as a visor, mounts to a protective helmet using a mounting assembly. The mounting assembly has a base, a spacer assembly, and a pair of posts. The base is disposed on the interior of the helmet. The posts are connected to the base and extend outwardly through holes that are formed in the side of the helmet. The spacer assembly slides over the posts when the posts are inserted through the corresponding holes in the helmet, and frictionally engages the outer surfaces of the first and second posts such that the helmet is disposed between the base and the spacer assembly. The posts threadingly receive corresponding fasteners that attach the face shield to the helmet.

An insertion block on the upper mold is received in a slot of the middle mold and corresponds to the toe slot. A rib cavity is defined between an end of the slot and the insertion block and intercommunicates with the sole cavity and the vamp cavity. Molten plastic material is filled into the sole cavity, the vamp cavity, and the rib cavity to form an integral flip-flop shoe including the sole, the vamp, the rib, and the toe slot. The upper and lower molds are then opened, and the integral flip-flop shoe is removed from the middle mold.

Abstract: A convertible shoe comprising a flexible toe box, capable of being worn in closed toe mode or open toe mode. The flexible toe box covers the wearer's toes in closed toe mode. When worn in open toe mode, the flexible toe box is flattened such that the wearer steps on the top of the flexible toe box, and the wearer's toes are exposed. A toe catch button is utilized to assist in allowing the convertible shoe to be worn conveniently in open toe mode. The toe catch button attaches to at least the insole of the shoe via a toe catch shaft. When worn, the toe catch shaft goes between the wearer's first and second toes. When worn in open toe mode, the toe catch button is directly above the wearer's first and second toes to provide adequate holding of the shoe when walking.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a custom foot orthotic for a patient is described. The method includes collecting dynamic pressure data of a plantar surface of the foot of the patient at multiple time frames during a gait cycle of the patient, determining the dimensions of the patient's foot from the dynamic pressure data, scaling a three dimensional model of a foot orthotic along the x and y axes to form a scaled three dimensional model which approximates the dimensions of the patient's foot and adjusting the height of the scaled model along the z-axis in one or more regions based on the dynamic pressure data to form a three-dimensional model of the custom foot orthotic. A method is also provided which includes creating a two-dimensional model of a custom foot orthotic from dynamic pressure data and extruding the two-dimensional model in one or more regions based on the dynamic pressure data to form a three-dimensional model of the custom foot orthotic. The orthotic can be manufactured using 3D printing.

Abstract: Safety footwear adapted to provide protection to the instep region and/or metatarsals of a wearer is provided, including an internal metatarsal guard disposed in an interior of an upper, a first external metatarsal guard joined with the exterior of the upper, and optionally a second external metatarsal guard joined with the exterior of the upper, and overlapping the first external metatarsal guard. The present method for producing a crosslinked product is capable of providing a crosslinked product having a good moldability and an excellent mechanical strength.

Abstract: A hair styling device that has a rotating cylinder extending from a body that may be easily grasped by hand. The device allows the cylinder to rotate relative to the body, which remains stationary in the hand of a user. The cylinder has a clamp for clamping hair to the cylinder. The clamp rotates with the cylinder and is used to wind hair up the cylinder while the user holds the body of the device. The direction of rotation of the cylinder may be changed as desired by the user. The ability of a user to rotate the cylinder without rotating the entire device manually eliminates twisting the cord due to turning the entire device as is done with traditional curling irons. Buttons on the device select the direction of rotation of the cylinder.
