  • Publication number: 20160334002
Abstract: The invention is directed to a power transmission system including a noise isolation and control system. In an example, a bearing support member is arranged to support bearings which in turn support high speed conical rotors. The bearing support member itself is not rigidly fastened to the outer case of the mechanism. The bearing support member is not directly attached to the outer case, but is supported in the case by radially oriented attachment members which inhibit or do not transmit radial vibrations to the case. In this way, the vibration, or noise, produced by the high speed conical rotors and their bearings and driving gears, is effectively isolated from and not transmitted to the outer case. The invention also relates to a control system to provide for optimization of the power transmission system operation.

When the outer pipe part is joined with the inner pipe part, the connection forms a press fit region, a stop region, and a transition region, where the transition region forms a coaxial intermediate space or hollow space.

Abstract: A separation preventive pipe joint that can obtain an improved separation preventing function, can be assembled with reduced time and work on site, and has an adjustable angle of deflection. A lock ring storage groove accommodates a metallic lock ring that can be engaged with a spigot protrusion and a cushioning material that comes into contact with a bottom of the lock ring storage groove and a side wall on a socket opening side. The cushioning material is made of a material softer than the lock ring. With this configuration, even if a drawing force generated by a water pressure is applied to a pipe, separation between a socket and a spigot can be reliably prevented, achieving a reliable separation preventing function.

Abstract: An external sleeve arrangement for repairing a defective length of pipe has top and bottom segments for substantially encircling the pipe, where the bottom segment in addition has connector plates welded on either side. When the pipe and sleeve segments are made of a similar material, the sleeve segments are made thicker than the pipe wall, up to three times as thick or more, so that upon heating the sleeve segments for a given time they stretch relative to the pipe. After joining the stretched sleeve segments with the connector plates to form a continuous circumferential sleeve, the sleeve is cooled to provide an enhanced interference fit to reinforce the defective length of pipe. Prior to heating, the sleeve segments are clamped about the pipe using a clamping mechanism employing lugs connected to the segments and screw jacks engaging those lugs to draw the segments tight to the pipe.
