Abstract: High-temperature solar trap collectors provide near ambient temperature solar entry surfaces and negligible thermal radiation losses by counterflowing low velocity transparent gases or liquids (fluids) to nullify internal thermal diffusion and radiative heat losses at the solar entry surface. Small steradian (sr) baffling plus wavelength-selective materials trap the entire 0.35 u to 2.7 u incoming solar spectrum and heat highly absorbing internal surfaces to high temperatures; only a small solid angle of the 2? steradians—on the order of 0.01 sr—of internal thermal radiation escapes. A nearly 100% efficient flat panel solar trapping embodiment exhibits alpha (?) absorption nearing 1.0 and radiant emission losses nearing 0.0 even at solar collection temperatures in excess of 1,000° K. Ultra high collection efficiency counterflow configurations are ideal for solar hot water, space heating, cooling, energy storage, and electric power generation applications.

Abstract: The present invention belongs to the technological field of refrigeration systems and, more particularly refrigeration systems used in residential applications, for example, refrigeration appliances including at least two climate chambers at different temperatures. Problem to be solved: Conventionally, existing Refrigeration systems including evaporators connected in parallel require complex compressors including at least two suction paths, or alternatively functional complex arrangements unable to maintain independence between the individual evaporators. Troubleshooting: Disclosed is a refrigeration system including evaporators connected in parallel where each of said evaporators operates through a separate feeding principle, and that this aspect makes it possible, with the aid of a liquid accumulator and phase separator, maintaining the independence between the individual evaporators, besides the use of a compressor.

Abstract: A method controls a vapor compression system including a variable speed compressor. A desired discharge temperature of the compressor is determined using a mapping between values of the discharge temperature of the compressor and values of speed of the compressor and outdoor air temperature. A transition function for transitioning a current discharge temperature to the desired discharge temperature is determined, such that the transition function is continuous and a rate of change of the transition function is limited. Next, a valve of the vapor compression system is controlled such that the discharge temperature is transitioned to the desired discharge temperature based on the transition function.
