  • Patent number: 9565662
Abstract: Disclosed is a carrier management method for use in a carrier aggregation environment of a mobile communication system. In the method, a base station is configured to transmit a deactivation message for a secondary carrier to a terminal and change the secondary carrier to a deactivation state after a predetermined time from the transmission of the deactivation message. The terminal receives the deactivation message transmitted by the base station, and changes the secondary carrier to the deactivation state after a predetermined time from the transmission of the deactivation message. As the predetermined time, a predefined value may be used to prevent inconsistency of secondary-carrier state information that is managed by the base station and the terminal. If the carrier state management information is used, it is possible to prevent inconsistency of secondary-carrier states that are managed by the base station and the terminal and solve problems due to the inconsistency.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for providing a more flexible configuration of sounding reference signal, SRS, transmission. This is achieved by dynamically triggering a mobile terminal to transmit SRS. Thus, embodiments of the invention include a method implemented by a base station in a communications network that semi-statically configures some uplink symbols for periodic SRS transmission and other uplink symbols for aperiodic SRS transmission. The method includes dynamically determining whether an uplink symbol that has been semi-statically configured for aperiodic SRS transmission is to be used by a given mobile terminal at a given time for SRS transmission. The method then further includes signaling a terminal-specific instruction that indicates said determination to the given mobile terminal.

Abstract: A method of generating a data block for performing a polling procedure in a wireless communication system, a method of transmitting data and a method of performing a polling procedure are disclosed. A protocol layer performs the polling procedure for requesting a receiving side to transmit status report if there are no data to be transmitted to the receiving side in both a transmission buffer and a retransmission buffer. When determining whether there are no data to be transmitted to the receiving side in the retransmission buffer, it is preferable that a data block for which retransmission request information is not received from the receiving side is excluded.

  • Patent number: 9565700
Abstract: A method at a base station of determining a time delay associated with a mobile station in a multiple access wireless communication system. A signal is received from a mobile station over a selected random access subchannel in a selected random access time slot. A Fast Fourier Transform is applied to the received signal to generate a transformed signal in the frequency domain. The transformed signal is then processed in the frequency domain by computing a dot-product to identify a random access sequence carried in the received signal. The received signal is then processed in the time domain by computing a correlation between a time-shifted version of the received signal and the identified random access sequence to determine a time delay associated with the mobile station.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed to desynchronize transmissions in group-based operations. A group user equipment (UE), e.g., a UE that is a member of a group of UEs, may be in an inactive mode. The group UE may receive a multicast message indicating that the group UE may enter an active mode. For example, the group UE may use the active mode for periodic reporting of its monitoring activity to the network. The multicast message may indicate a mechanism for the group UE to use to send an uplink transmission to the network. The group UE may send the uplink transmission to the network at a transmission time indicated by the mechanism. The transmission time may be desynchronized from other UEs in the group.

Abstract: Wireless communication in a wireless system using a multiple user transmission opportunity is provided. The data blocks are organized in order of transmission priority based on access categories. Contention for access to the communication medium during a transmission opportunity period is based on a backoff timer of each access category and the transmission priority. Upon successful contention for a transmission opportunity period, during the transmission opportunity period, a data block of a primary access category is wirelessly transmitted from the wireless station to one or more primary destination wireless receivers. Simultaneously, a data block of a secondary access category is wirelessly transmitted from the wireless station to one or more secondary destination wireless receivers.

Abstract: A method and wireless terminal device for rapidly establishing a dual-stack wireless connection. The wireless terminal device sends various types of packet data protocol (PDP) activation requests after being registered onto a wireless network, and determines an Internet Protocol (IP) type supported by the network based on a result returned by the network; after receiving a connection instruction from a user, the wireless terminal device initiates one PDP activation request corresponding to a determined IP type supported by the network; if a result that the PDP activation is performed successfully is returned by the network, the wireless terminal device establishes a data connection. Compared to the related art, the wireless terminal device of the present disclosure determines the IP type supported by the network in advance when it is registered onto the network, and thus may prevent a fall-back process and rapidly establish the connection when receiving the connection instruction.
