  • Patent number: 9560842
Abstract: Disclosed is a live bait keeper having a cornerless interior and dynamic flow of ambient water through it for freshening the water and protecting bait against harm when the holder is in water. The holder has a hollow, disc-shaped keeper body having forward and aft ends and cornerless interior space. The keeper is buoyant. A top hatch accesses the interior where bait is held. In use, ports on the top-portion of the keeper vent air and water from the interior, and bottom-ports disposed toward the forward-end of the keeper allow water to enter the interior. A tether attachment is disposed on the bottom-portion at the forward end below the neutral buoyancy plane of the keeper body, and as a tether maintains the forward end into the wind and/or current, the keeper rocks fore and aft forcing water into the bottom-ports to provide dynamic water flow into the bait holder.

Signals from disabled switches are ignored by a microcomputer (24), and the operator is directed to only the hidden switches that are enabled by selectively revealing them with individually associated backlights (39?, 40?, 42?, 48?, 50?, 54?, 56?, 58?, and 60?). When the backlights are energized the location of the hidden switches is revealed by the light passing through a dark, but semi-translucent, flexible, plastic control panel that overlies the hidden switches and their associated backlights. Different modes of normal operation may be preselected during a program mode (FIG.

  • Patent number: 9560867
Abstract: A method for removal of metal ions from rice hulls. The method includes: 1) providing a water storage reactor, and disposing a gas dispersion device at the bottom of the water storage reactor; 2) bagging rice hulls, placing it in the water storage reactor, and pressing down on the bagged rice hulls to be lower than a water surface in the water storage reactor; 3) spraying industrial flue gas into the water storage reactor; controlling the amount of the industrial flue gas such that about 1 g of carbon dioxide is dissolved per 100 g of water, thus generating a carbonic acid solution; 4) allowing the carbonic acid solution to react with metal ions in the rice hulls to yield a precipitate; and 5) washing the rice hulls collected in step 4), washing again with desalinated water, and then squeezing the rice hulls.

  • Patent number: 9560871
Abstract: The present invention provides beverage preservative systems for use in high acid beverage products, and beverage products comprising the beverage preservative systems. The beverage preservative system prevents spoilage by microorganisms in a beverage within a sealed container for a period of at least 16 weeks. The present invention reduces or eliminates the use of conventional preservatives that pose health and/or environmental concerns. The components that make up the beverage preservative system of invention work together in a synergistic manner to reduce the amount of preservative required and so improve the inventive beverage's sensory impact over beverages having conventional preservatives.
