Abstract: Described is a method of sanitizing animal carcasses using aqueous streams having an antimicrobial composition added to the stream. Preferably, the antimicrobial composition includes a mixture of one or more carboxylic acids having up to 18 carbon atoms and one or more peroxycarboxylic acids having up to 12 carbon atoms, preferably a mixture of a C2-C4 peroxycarboxylic acid and a C8-C12 peroxycarboxylic acid. Also described is a novel antimicrobial composition adapted for sanitizing animal carcasses containing a mixture of one or more C2-C4 peroxycarboxylic acids and one or more C8-C12 peroxycarboxylic acids and an alpha-hydroxy mono- or dicarboxylic acid.

Abstract: Inhibition of expansion of a cereal product, such as a ready-to-eat cereal, by a particulate insoluble component such as fiber and/or calcium is avoided by pelletizing the particulate insoluble component. A binder component, such as gelatinized starch, is used to bind particles of the particulate insoluble component into a coherent mass which is formed into non-expanded pellets for fortification of the cereal product. The expanded cereal products, such as extruded puffed RTE cereals which contain the pellets, exhibit a crisp, uniform texture and cell structure, improved, prolonged bowl life, a non-gritty mouthfeel, and a smooth, uniform surface appearance even though they are fortified with high amounts of the solid or particulate insoluble nutritional components.

Abstract: A food preparation assembly for use in cleaning food products generally includes a tank for holding washing fluid for use in cleaning food products positioned within the tank, and a pump in fluidic communication with the tank to provide movement of the washing fluid within the tank for use in cleaning the food products when positioned within the tank. A processing module is configured to receive settings from a user for cleaning the food products, and to monitor and adjust, as necessary, parameters of the washing fluid based on the user input settings. The processing module is also configured to report and/or store measured values of the parameters of the washing fluid in addition to select user defined input information (e.g., user defined wash settings, etc.). Labels may also be generated indicative of completion of cleaning of the food products by the food preparation assembly.

Abstract: Disclosed is a smokeless cigarette system comprising a reusable cigarette tube and a nicotine stick which can be discarded after use. The nicotine stick comprises a depot filter charged with a nanobead solution and nicotine and flavor substances attached thereto or incorporated therein, and a mouthpiece filter, which are joined together and produced at the factory stage. The disclosed smokeless cigarette is particularly suited for use in non-smoking areas to prevent stress caused by nicotine withdrawal and as a cigarette substitute, but can also be used in different types of cigarettes with varied dosage strengths to ensure gentle nicotine withdrawal and smoke disintoxication. Neither the environment nor other persons are harmed of put at risk by this system by either passive smoking or the generation of odour. The system can be handled in a simple and unproblematic manner since no heat source or heating systems are required.

Abstract: The present application provides a method and a device for generating smoking signals in electronic cigarettes and an electronic cigarette using the method and the device. The method includes these steps: using airflow passing through a vocal cavity of an electronic cigarette to drive the vocal cavity to vibrate and generate an ultrasonic wave; using an acoustic-electric conversion unit mounted on the vocal cavity to convert the ultrasonic wave into a voltage signal; and using a microprocessor of the electronic cigarette to generate a control signal according to the voltage signal and start a heating and atomizing process of tobacco juice in the electronic cigarette.

The body comprises condensation collection guide channels located on an inside surface of the body behind the fluid deflector that direct condensation and saliva into a collection basin located behind the fluid deflector at a base of the fluid deflector. The first end of the flap valve is attached to the body, and the second end of the flap valve is situated directly beneath the collection basin. When the flap valve is in an open position, fluids collected in the collection basin escape from the device by dripping out of it.

In certain aspects, these fabrics can be used to control, reduce, or prevent perspiration from bleeding through and being shown on the outer surface of a garment. For example, these garments can include, but are not limited to, a multilayered fabric having at least a first fabric layer configured to wick moisture away from a person's body, at least a second fabric layer configured to absorb the moisture, and at least a third fabric layer that does not absorb moisture. For example, the multi-layered fabric described herein can be included in the underarm regions of shirts (e.g., tee shirts) to absorb perspiration.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyester-based fiber for artificial hair obtained by melt spinning a polyester resin composition. The polyester resin composition includes 100 parts by weight of a polyester resin, 5 to 40 parts by weight of a brominated epoxy flame retardant, and 1.5 parts by weight or more and less than 7 parts by weight of an antimony oxide. The polyester resin is at least one kind of resin selected from the group consisting of polyalkylene terephthalate and a copolymerized polyester containing polyalkylene terephthalate as a main component. The polyester-based fiber for artificial hair has aggregates of the brominated epoxy flame retardant that are dispersed in the polyester resin in the form of islands, as viewed in the cross section of the fiber parallel to the fiber axis direction. The present invention also relates to hair ornament products including the polyester-based fiber for artificial hair and a method for producing the polyester-based fiber for artificial hair.

An energy absorbing flexible liner predominantly comprised of radially oriented foam columns is attached to both the head cap and outer shell. The liner establishes a preset initial relative position and spacing between the head cap and the outer shell and compliantly absorbs energy imparted to the outer shell during a helmet impact to enable the outer shell to move linearly and angularly relative to the head cap during the helmet impact and to be returned to the initial relative position with the head cap following the impact.

Abstract: A headgear for a head safety product such as a face shield, hardhat or welding helmet includes a spring buffered cradle mounted on the horizontal band of the headgear to improve the fit, function, stability and comfort of the headgear. The cradle is flexible and has a concave inner surface contoured to conform to the shape of the head. A spring element is coupled between the cradle and the horizontal band to buffer the tension between the band and the head and more equally distribute pressure across the head. In a preferred embodiment, an occipital cradle includes two leaf springs coupled to the rear portion of the horizontal band.

The base layer desirably is formed from a self-adhering material that can be applied to in liquid form to the fabric and bonds directly to the fibers of the fabric when cured, so as to eliminate the need for a separate intermediate adhesive layer for securing the fabric to the base layer. The base layer is also configured to substantially prevent shrinkage of the insole when subjected to multiple wash and dry cycles.

Abstract: A weapon delivery system includes a vertical structure defining an opening and a hidden compartment above the opening, and a delivery structure pivoted to a bottom of the vertical structure that when in a closed position generally covers the opening. The delivery structure includes a horizontal top member adapted to support a long gun in a known orientation in the hidden compartment and, when the delivery structure is moved to an open position, causes the long gun to be dropped onto the hands of the person in the known orientation. This allows the person to immediately grasp the long gun in a manner ready to deal with an intruder or danger. The illustrated system is a bed headboard positioned so that a person sleeping on the bed can reach up, press the delivery structure, and drop the long gun into their waiting hands.
