Abstract: A method for generating a matching key of a lock includes obtaining user information input by a user of a smart key, determining whether the user is an authorized user of the smart key, obtaining lock information of the lock, obtaining key information of the lock, and generating a matching key to unlock the lock. When the lock is an electronic lock, the smart key generates an electronic matching key. When the lock is a mechanical lock, the smart key generates a mechanical matching key.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for authorizing a user to access an access-controlled environment. The system includes a system server platform that communicates with mobile devices (e.g., smartphones) and on-board vehicle computing devices accessed by users. The embodiments enable a series of operations whereby a user accessing a vehicle is prompted to biometrically authenticate using the user's smartphone or on-board vehicle computer. In addition, the system can further authorize the user and electronically facilitate access to the vehicle as well as perform other authorized operations relating to the use of the vehicle. In addition the vehicle access system integrates with various computing devices and computer-based services accessible to the user. The systems and methods also facilitate active monitoring of the vehicle occupants and environmental conditions using optical sensors and the like so as to enhance security, convenience and safety of the occupants during use of the vehicle.

Abstract: A method is provided of identifying a security document using an identifying device. The identifying device is provided with a capacitance sensor and a second sensor. The method includes capacitively coupling a first element of the security document with the capacitance sensor and obtaining first data from the first element using the capacitance sensor. Second data is also obtained from the security document using the second sensor. Output data is then generated based upon the first and second data. A corresponding device and system are also presented.

Abstract: Techniques for allowing a gaming machine to exercise control over a picture-in-picture device (PIP mixer). A gaming machine includes a display device, a master game controller, the PIP mixer, and a PIP control interface. The master gaming controller is configured to execute a wager game, send a first video signal for the wager game to the PIP mixer, and send control instructions for controlling a display of one or more PIP windows to the PIP mixer via the PIP control interface. The PIP mixer receives the first video signal and a second video signal from an external source. The PIP mixer is configured to create a composite video image that includes display data of first video signal and the second video signal in PIP windows based on the control instructions. The composite video image is displayed on the display device.

A virtual player loyalty card can be created by associating an existing physical player loyalty card with a newly created mobile loyalty card account. The mobile card can be virtually inserted into an electronic gaming machine when a portable electronic device with an associated mobile application is in the vicinity of an electronic gaming machine. Once the mobile card is virtually inserted into the gaming machine, the patron's game play at the gaming machine can be tracked.

The system has motion-sensing/detecting capabilities such that any movement of a housing where the microprocessor of the system is located generates audible/visual alarm. Each of the wireless sensors has a magnet and a transmitter positionable within a predetermined distance from the magnet. If the intruder tampers with the tape and increases the distance between the magnet the transmitter, the alarm is activated as well.

The method verifies the fraudulent activity by confirming an incident of the fraudulent activity with multiple data generated by monitoring the transaction area and the bagging area of the self-checkout terminal. Once the purchaser gets the product home, they can remove it themselves and use it in public. Once the tag is removed, it cannot be reattached by the consumer. Depending on the store policy, the product may not be returned, or an extra fee charged for returning the garment, or other similar policies. Absence of a tag makes it clear that the buyer has removed the tag and provides an indication that the product, such as a garment has been used or worn in public. The tag is most effective for products that are used in public, such as garments. The tag may carry EAS technology.

Abstract: A real-time threat detection system incorporating a plurality of sensors adapted to detect radiation across the majority of the electromagnetic spectrum. The system also includes an aided or automatic target recognition module which compares the data from the sensors against known radiation signatures and issues an alert when an anomalous signature is detected. The system further includes an operator station which displays sensor information allowing the operator to intervene. The sensors detect radiation which is normally emitted by persons or other bodies and display areas to the operator where normal emissions are blocked.

Abstract: A system and method are described. The system utilizes data entry devices commonly found in some workplaces, such as warehouses, to generate an emergency signal. The emergency signal is used to generate an emergency response. In one embodiment, an emergency sign with a printed emergency symbol may be scanned using a network-connected barcode scanner to generate the emergency signal. In another embodiment, a user may utter an emergency speech input into a network-connected speech recognition device to generate the emergency signal. The system and method may expand and improve safety in a workplace by offering a more convenient way to summon help.

The pad comprises a communication element, a unique identifier, a power source, a switch configured to adapt a power state from “off” to “on” by means of a child closing the switch disposed between the pad's power source and the pad's communication element. The receiver comprises an analysis element storing the unique identifier of at least one pad and a communication element in communication with at least one pad when the pad is powered “on”. The receiver determines a presence state of a child in the car seat when the receiver is in communication with the powered pad. The receiver determines the presence state when the receiver loses communication with the pad. The receiver further generates notifications with the determined child's presence state in the car seat.

A voice of an owner of the second loss-prevention configured mobile device is detected at the first loss-prevention configured mobile device located beyond the configured separation distance. An alert is generated at the first loss-prevention configured mobile device that indicates that the owner of the second loss-prevention configured mobile device is separated from the second loss-prevention configured mobile device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention track users' hand-cleaning compliance and display an indication of each user's compliance so that others can estimate how well each user complies with policy guidelines. Making sanitation compliance visible in this way enables social pressure to be focused on negligent users without requiring others to take specific, individual actions to call out a negligent user. Each alert may have a trigger condition such as passage of time, measurement of a numeric metric, or other factors. Each alert may also have a notification setting defining how the user is to be notified. The alert suggestion generator may retrieve a user profile of the user to further determine what alerts would be most relevant to the user. The user may be queried to confirm the alerts, and the alerts may them be set. Partial alerts may be generated and then the user may be queried for the trigger condition and/or notification setting needed to complete the alerts.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for a security alert system for communicating a security event to users by means of a full mesh network topology. The mesh network includes a plurality of remote units, receiver units, emergency box units, and teacher/hallway units strategically placed throughout a facility. Each remote unit has a plurality of buttons thereon wherein a button is designated for a specific type of problem, for example, an intruder, a gun carrying intruder, a medical emergency, or a fight. If a user presses one of the designated buttons the other members of the mesh network, including a receiver unit being monitored by security personnel, are immediately notified of the type and the location of the problem within the facility.

Abstract: A communication system and method provide fight detection capability. Bodily parameters associated with fighting, such as limb movements, are pre-stored and individualized for a particular user. The characterization of a fight using limb movements allows for a system that can recognize a fight even when a user is unable to call for assistance. Other bodily parameters are further monitored and weighted to distinguish a fight from other activities. The automatic notification to a dispatch center or control center and notification to peer radios expedites the ability to bring aid to the user.

Abstract: Removing a gun or other weapon from a holster may inevitably require police backup to secure officer safety. One example device may include a weapon securing holster and a wireless presence detection antenna which receives wireless proximity data from a weapon drawn from the holster. Other features may include a sensor which detects a presence of the weapon and a processor which processes sensor data generated by the at least one sensor and radio frequency signals identifying a proximity of the weapon to the wireless presence detection antenna.

Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for predicting potential reach of an alert to a targeted audience, targeted personal delivery devices and targeted non-personal notification delivery devices in an emergency mass notification system. The method includes receiving recipients and alert delivery devices data which define a targeted audience and devices of an emergency alert. The method further comprises evaluating contact and configuration data targeting quality rating, tracking data targeting quality rating and real-time data targeting quality rating based on the received recipients and devices data and a data sources repository. Responsive to the targeting quality ratings and prediction weighting data (e.g., numeric weights and descriptive thresholds), the method generating one or more predictions of the potential reach of the alert based on the targeting quality ratings.

Abstract: An alarm system testing device facilitates simulation of a trouble condition and testing circuit continuity of an alarm system within a structure. The device includes an alarm system comprising an electrical circuit, an alarm, a resistor, and at least one trigger. The alarm is activated by the trigger shorting a positive rail of the electrical circuit to a negative rail. A testing switch has a ground position wherein the positive rail of the electrical circuit is grounded when the testing switch is in the ground position. The resistor is electrically coupled to the testing switch such that positioning the testing switch in a resistor bypass position removes the resistor from the electrical circuit.

Abstract: A method and/or computer program product receives inputs from a wearable input device. A communication session is established between a wearable input device and a receiving hardware device. The receiving hardware device receives an input from the wearable input device that is generated in response to a conformational change to a shape of the wearable input device, wherein the conformational change is applied to a random section of the wearable input device. The receiving hardware device thereafter initiates a responsive action that is associated with the input from the wearable input device, wherein the responsive action occurs within the receiving hardware device.

Abstract: A traffic monitoring system includes a plurality of road monitoring devices and a traffic control center electronically coupled to the road monitoring devices. Each road monitoring device has specific transmittable position information stored therein. The traffic control center has stored transmittable images of a plurality of vehicle types and stored transmittable images of the plurality of roads to be monitored. When one or more vehicles passes one of the road monitoring devices, the road monitoring device receives a vehicle identification code from each vehicle, calculates position information of each vehicle and transmits the road monitoring device position information, each vehicle identification code and the vehicle position information for each vehicle to the traffic control center. The traffic control center configures a three dimensional traffic image from all of the vehicle images of the one or more vehicles passing the one of the road monitoring devices.

Abstract: A framework for origin-destination (OD) analysis of vehicle trajectory data is described herein. In accordance with one aspect, a vehicle trajectory dataset is provided to an OD analyzer. The vehicle trajectory dataset includes vehicle trajectory data collected from a sensor network having a plurality of sensor stations for detecting vehicles. The sensor stations of the sensor network are distributed in a geographical area of interest, where the vehicle trajectory data include trajectories of vehicles captured by the sensor network. The vehicle trajectory dataset may be analyzed by the OD analyzer to determine an origin and a destination of trips for trajectories of the vehicles in the vehicle trajectory dataset.
