Abstract: A fishhook with two barbs. The two barbs are attached to either side of the hook, and are intended to prevent a hook from returning through the opening created upon initial penetration of the tissue of a fish. The barb placement, on either side of the hook, and an increased barb length provide a deeper penetration and wider contact area making it more difficult to dislodge the hook while recovering a hooked fish.

Abstract: The present invention relates in general to fishing lures, and more specifically, to an expanding or contracting fishing lure that provides a natural movement that mimics live bait. The fishing lure is configured so that when the fishing lure is retrieved (e.g., reeled in) or jigged by an angler, or the fishing line is pulled or twitched, the fishing lure transitions from a first position to a second position and then returns to the first position. The purpose of the invention is to provide a fishing lure that will successfully attract fish by displaying a unique action in the water.

Abstract: A pest detector (1) for actively detecting pest activity within the environs of a structure. The pest detector includes a pest detection unit (2) that detects pest activity through the analysis of sounds of pest activity within a pest bait. The pest bait is typically timber or cellulose material (3). Upon detection of pest activity, a signal is sent to wireless transmitting device which transmits a radio frequency signal which includes data identifying the pest detector. Advantageously, the radio frequency is in the cellular radio frequency spectrum and is transmitted via the cellular radio network to a remote base station. The signal can be in the form of a short message service message. In this way, the pest detector can be remotely monitored and any pest activity dealt with appropriately. The pest detector can be used within a pest detection system and the pest detection unit can be retrofitted to known pest monitoring systems.

Abstract: The Fly Down Decoy consists of a game bird decoy with a free-floating wheel inside of it. A rope is attached to a pole at a vertical position, then extended horizontally from the pole where it is attached to the ground. This rope runs from the pole through the game bird decoy, running under the wheel inside of the decoy, and to ground level. The wheel inside, allows the decoy to travel freely along the rope from an elevated position to ground level, imitating a game bird flying and landing. Cord, which is secured to the decoy, runs to a retriever and then to the operator. This allows the operator to release the decoy when he/she chooses. The cord also provides the operator the ability to retrieve the decoy back up the rope to be released as often as the operator chooses.

Abstract: A robotic carcass processing system uses a pair of robotic arms having multiple axes of motion, a saw mounted thereon, and a controller. The controller moves the saw in Cartesian space via inverse kinematics with interpolation control over the multiple axes of the robotic arm to synchronously move the saw relative to a carcass on an assembly line. The controller also determines when one of the robotic arms has moved its saw out of a defined space to indicate that space is clear and to permit the other robotic arm to enter that space. A sensor on the assembly line identifies location of the absence of a supported carcass, a supported carcass that requires special handling, or weight or length of a carcass. The controller sends a signal to the robotic arms to either effect a standard cut or to modify the standard cut at the identified location or carcass.

Abstract: The apparatus (100) includes a die head (118) for extruding a main comestible material to form an extrudate body. A plurality of nozzles (160, FIG. 7) is located within the die head for introducing a comestible fluid into the extrudate body to form a plurality of filled capillaries. A control system (182) is capable of selectively connecting at least one of the nozzles to any one of at least two different fluid filling sources (150A, 150B). The control system may be capable of connecting each of the nozzles independently to different fluid sources or the nozzles may be arranged into two or more groups of fluidly interconnected nozzles that can each be independently switched between different fluid sources. The apparatus can be used to form products in which the fillings in the capillaries are varied or in which an image is formed in cross section. The apparatus can also be used to switch production between products having different fillings without stopping extrusion.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of forming frozen ice cream pellets includes supplying an ice cream premix into a loading vessel; loading a loading cylinder with the ice cream premix from the loading vessel, the loading cylinder being connected to the loading vessel; applying a machine-controllable force to expel the ice cream premix from the loading cylinder as ice cream premix pellets; and exposing the ice cream premix pellets to a cryogenic fluid, thereby at least partially freezing the ice cream premix pellets.

Abstract: A positive displacement chilled food dispenser is provided where liquid enters a portion of a housing where two screws reside. The housing is chilled below the freezing temperature of the liquid. The two screws, when rotating, move the liquid towards a dispensing end. The liquid freezes where it contacts the housing and is scraped by an outside diameter of the two screws. The frozen liquid is then dispensed through a dispensing end. At the dispensing end is an optional valve that selectively shuts the flow of frozen liquid off. Alternatively, a sensor determines how much frozen liquid is dispensed through the dispensing end.

Abstract: The present invention refers to a method for obtaining dehydrated food with a high content of hydrolyzed proteins from fish stickwater; for this purpose, the insoluble solids and fat traces are separated the stickwater, which then undergoes a process of demineralization by electrodialysis, in order to then adjust its temperature and pH to proceed with the enzymatic hydrolysis that allows to fractionate the protein, which is then concentrated and spray dried, and then the dried product is finally conveniently packaged.
