  • Patent number: 9590469
Abstract: The invention provides a way re-center a rotor's central longitudinal rotational axis with a desired system longitudinal axis. A pair of planar semicircular permanent magnets are pieced together to form a circle. The flux from each magnet is pointed in in opposite directions that are both parallel with the rotational axis. A stationary shorted circular winding the plane of which is perpendicular to the system longitudinal axis and the center of curvature of the circular winding is positioned on the system longitudinal axis. Upon rotation of the rotor, when a transverse displacement of the rotational axis occurs relative to the system longitudinal axis, the winding will experience a time-varying magnetic flux such that an alternating current that is proportional to the displacement will flow in the winding. Such time-varying magnetic flux will provide a force that will bring the rotor back to its centered position about the desired axis.

Abstract: The core inside a combined radial-axial magnetic bearing is stacked with coated laminations each equipped with at least one radial cut. These cuts prevent the inducement of circulating currents caused by varying axial control fluxes through the central hole of the stack. Magnetic symmetry is preserved by pivoting every lamination with respect to the previous one over a particular angle. This arrangement not only reduces the losses in the bearing, but improves the performance of the axial channel as well.

Abstract: An automobile roller-type power generating device installed at the bottom of a vehicle body includes: a roller pivotally coupled to a camshaft and having a notch; a push slider having an arc bottom and installed in the notch of the roller, and the notch being in a shape corresponsive to the push slider and slightly greater than the push slider to allow the push slider to slide up and down; and a power generating mechanism installed above the pushrod. When the motor vehicle moves to roll the roller, the arc bottom presses the ground and slides into the roller to allow the push slider to slide up and down to transmit kinetic energy to the power generating mechanism, and the power generating mechanism converts the kinetic energy into electric energy to achieve the effect of generating power generation and storing electric energy into the battery.

Abstract: A power source for generating electrical power. The power source including: a shaft rotatably disposed relative to a structure; an elastic element having one end attached to the shaft and another end attached to the structure for storing potential energy upon rotation of the shaft in a first angular direction; a generator operatively coupled relative to the shaft; and a retaining mechanism movable between an engaged position for retaining the shaft from rotating in a second angular direction opposite to the first angular direction and a power generating position permitting the shaft to rotate in the second angular direction. Wherein, when the retaining mechanism is moved to the power generating position, the stored potential energy in the elastic element is converted to kinetic energy to rotate the shaft which in turn rotates the generator coupled to the shaft so as to produce electrical power.
