Abstract: Systems and methods for use in association with a master entity index system may allow data records to be grouped together into various entities, where each of the entities may represent a logical or physical item. These entities may also be associated with one another in a manner such that relationships between entities may likewise be represented. In one embodiment, an interface may be provided for use in conjunction with the master entity index system such that these various entities and relationships may be better managed, manipulated or visualized. This interface may allow a user to search for or otherwise obtain an entity, where a representation of this entity and one or more associated entities may be presented to the user along with representations of the relationships between these entities.

Abstract: The invention relates to detecting non-presence of nodes in a document of semi-structured data and to creating a values index which properly reflects this non-presence. The document of semi-structured data, comprising multiple hierarchically organized nodes, is scanned for values (step 110). Subsequently, these values are indexed (step 120). As non-presence of at least one node is detected (step 140), this non-presence is documented by enhancing the values index (12) by a pseudo key (20) (step 150).

Abstract: In an inverted list of each node in a taxonomy, among each node, an inverted list of the highest node is a list of integer values indicating an identifier of search subject data, and an inverted list of a node other than the highest node, in place of the identifier, is a list of integer values indicating a position in an inverted list corresponding to a node that is higher by one than the node. Furthermore, a list of integer values in an inverted list of each node is divided into two or more blocks, and a differential value between an integer value and an integer value directly before the integer value in the block is converted into a bit string of a variable length integer code.

Abstract: Embodiments for identifying an entity synonym of an entity are described. A query log is stored in a database located on at least one computing device. A candidate generation module can select a candidate query in the query log that shares a click on a URL with the entity. A correlated tag module can generate a set of phrase-tag pairs for the entity and the candidate query and measure a mutual information value for each phrase-tag pair. A candidate filtering module can determine a click similarity value between the candidate query and the entity based on a set of URLs selected in the search engine results and a tag similarity value based on the mutual information values. A candidate query is selected as an entity synonym if the click similarity value and the tag similarity value are greater than predetermined thresholds respectively.

Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product handles a query generated by a user of one of multiple local network devices that are coupled to a network. Multiple system queries request states of the local network devices. Query statements, responsive to the system queries and being sent to a wide area network search engine, are intercepted. A natural language query, which is a logical query that is answered by one of the multiple query statements, is generated from one of the multiple query statements. An unstructured query, from a user, about a state of a particular device is received. The unstructured query from the user is compared with the natural language query in order to determine if a match between the query from the user with the natural language query exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for automatic sampling evaluation. An automatic sampling evaluation system enables users to evaluate convergence of one or more search processes. For example, given a set of searches that were validated by human review, a system can implement a retrieval process that samples one or more non-retrieved collections. Each individual document's similarity in the one or more non-retrieved collections is automatically evaluated to other documents in any retrieved sets. Given a goal of achieving a high recall, documents with high similarity can then be analyzed for additional noun phrases that may be used for a next iteration of a search. Convergence can be expected if the information gain in the new feedback loop is less than previous iterations, and if the additional documents identified are below a certain threshold document count.

The method for text filtering comprises: pre-defining a semantic keyword in a text filtering system, the semantic keyword comprising at least one basic keyword and one logical operator; after obtaining an input text, finding, by the text filtering system, the basic keyword constituting the semantic keyword in the input text according to the pre-defined semantic keyword; in an event that a text content matching the at least one basic keyword in the input text is found, further conducting a semantic match in the found text content, the semantic match further comprising matching the found text content with the semantic keyword according to the logical operator constituting the semantic keyword; and in an event that the semantic match is successful, filtering the matched text context.

The method includes: receiving a selection of a semantic label associated with an IoT device; determining a recommendation of an interoperable rule based on the semantic label, the interoperable rule having a condition trigger and an action policy for execution at satisfaction of the condition trigger; presenting the recommendation on a rule management interface; and receiving a confirmation from a user through the rule management interface to activate the interoperable rule.

The identified attributes are then ascribed or transferred from one entity where the metadata is available to other search entities. Abstract: The Prefix Burrows-Wheeler Transform (“PWBT”) is described to provide data operations on data sets even if the data set has been compressed. Techniques to set up a PWBT, including an offset table and a prefix table, and techniques to apply data operations on data sets transformed by PWBT are also described. Data operations include k-Mer substring search. General applications of techniques using PWBT, such as plagiarism searches and open source clearance, are described. Bioinformatics applications of the PWBT, such as genomic analysis and genomic tagging, are also described.

The data collection provides nodes as structural elements, and references which are assigned to nodes and hold identifiers of other nodes. Multiple references can be assigned to each node, thus guiding a user of the system to multiple other nodes, and multiple references can hold the same address, so that multiple nodes can have references pointing to the same node. The interface allows visualizing the network created by the interconnection of the nodes on a display region. The interface also allows the user to intuitively navigate along the references in both directions of the references, so that the user can explore which nodes are referenced by a certain node, and also by which nodes a certain node is referenced.

Abstract: An apparatus for generating 3D geographical models includes a processor and memory storing executable computer program code causing the apparatus to at least perform operations including removing 3D points of a cloud depicting vertical structures in a geographic area responsive to analyzing a set of 3D points of the cloud. The computer program code further causes the apparatus to segment rooftops of vertical structures responsive to analyzing the set. The computer program code further causes the apparatus to delineate points of segmented rooftops responsive to extracting a boundary and a portion of rooftops. The computer program code further causes the apparatus to generate 3D geographic models depicting the geographic area based on connecting delineating points to a base including a height lower than heights of delineating points. Abstract: Method of constructing a geological for setting a depositional position of a stratigraphic unit. A depositional position of the stratigraphic unit is set with respect to a reference surface, to define a depositional space. The stratigraphic unit in depositional position is then calibrated to superimpose it on the initial stratigraphic unit. The wells are then positioned in this depositional space. A regular Cartesian grid is superimposed on the stratigraphic unit with a depositional position which is filled with property values characterizing the underground formation modelled by a geostatistical simulation. The values assigned to the cells of the grid are transferred to the cells of the stratigraphic mesh.

Abstract: A power system data model conversion method, a power system data model conversion system and a power system data model conversion program which are to perform a fast power system analysis and used for a power system analysis capable of reducing inconsistency with another information system, wherein all instances used for the power system analysis are read out from a CIM database server which is commonly used on a power system information system, and a connected relation between instances is constructed while performing recursive retrieval. And, conversion processing of the data model is performed to integrate information necessary for the power system analysis and dispersed to extend over the plural classes of a CIM data model into one class.

Abstract: An interface is provided for a modeling application that determines required current required to deliver a target heat in a direct electrical heating system. The interface facilitates the input of input values implemented by the modeling application without requiring the configuration of an entire model. A technique for determining adjustments to required current between computational iterations reduces the number of iterations needed to converge on a solution.
