The rotor of a hydrodynamic bearing is supported, in steady-state operation, by the pressure of lubricant which is pumped through grooves in the rotor. Abstract: There is provided a toroidal continuously variable transmission including an input side disk and an output side disk which are provided to be concentric with each other and rotatable in a state where inner side surfaces thereof face each other, and a power roller which is interposed between the input side disk and the output side disk. At least one of the input side disk and the output side disk is configured as a gear disk which has teeth on an outer circumferential portion thereof. Each tooth on the outer circumferential portion of the gear disk is provided with a protruding portion which outwardly protrudes in a radial direction of the gear disk and has a width narrower than a width of the teeth in an axial direction of the gear disk. A tip end surface of the protruding portion serves as a processing reference of the gear disk.

Abstract: A corn head row unit gearbox includes an input shaft, that rotates about a first axis of rotation and that drives a set of bevel gears. The bevel gears transfer rotation of the input shaft into rotation of a set of gathering chain output shafts about a second axis of rotation, generally transverse to the first axis of rotation. The gathering chain drive shafts each rotate within a bushing mounted within a frame structure of the gearbox. The frame structure defines a bore that communicates with a bevel gear cavity, in which at least one of the sets of bevel gears rotates, and an interior of the bushings mounted on the gathering chain drive shafts. Rotation of the bevel gears carries lubricant to an inlet aperture on the bore and drives the lubricant through the bore into the bushings.

Abstract: A harmonic drive featuring helix-facilitated lubrication includes a circular spline, a flexspline, a wave generator, and an agitating member. The flexspline meshes with the circular spline. The wave generator has a bearing installed within the flexspline, an elliptic wheel positioned in the bearing, and a shaft coupling connecting the elliptic wheel. The agitating member is located in a lubricant-holding space between the wave generator and the flexspline, and has a rotatory part and blade parts formed about a rotatory part. The rotatory part of the agitating member is connected to the shaft coupling of the wave generator, so that when the agitating member is driven by the shaft coupling, the helical blade parts agitate lubricant to perform convection, thereby better lubricating the bearing of the wave generator.
