Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to adjusting the monitored field of view of a camera and/or a view of a virtual scene from a point of view of a virtual camera based on the distance between tracked objects. For example, if the user's hand is being tracked for gestures, the closer the hand gets to another object, the tighter the frame can become—i.e., the more the camera can zoom in so that the hand and the other object occupy most of the frame. The camera can also be reoriented so that the hand and the other object remain in the center of the field of view. The distance between two objects in a camera's field of view can be determined and a parameter of a motion-capture system adjusted based thereon. In particular, the pan and/or zoom levels of the camera may be adjusted in accordance with the distance.

Abstract: A system and method for recording and training athletes uses multiple points of view For example, a new football training video in which a stationary camera (75? high) replaces the player (QB). The smooth (not jerky GoPro) easy to see video provides an unobstructed POV from the sightline of the QB (CorneaCAM—“CC”) during the execution of live play. For confirmation of visual fields and analyzing the intentions of the defensive team, there are two other cameras videoing the same play. The user will have the capability to view the play from either of the two other angles in real time, to better understand, interpret and confirm what he thinks he sees at the CorneaCAM POV. All three POV's have freeze frame and slow motion capability.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enabling real-time synchronous communication with persons appearing in image or video files. For example, an image or video file is displayed on a display screen of a computing device. The computing device detects a user selection of a person present in the displayed image or video. A request is sent from the computing device to a service provider for profile information associated with the user-selected person. The computing device receives from the service provider profile information associated with the user-selected person, wherein the profile information includes a communications address of the user-selected person. The communications address is utilized to initiate a communications session on the computing device with the user-selected person present in the displayed image or video.

Abstract: A peer to peer surveillance architecture comprising a plurality of independent nodes for capturing, analyzing, storing, and viewing surveillance information is disclosed. The surveillance architecture has no central controller or single point of failure because of the peer to peer or independent relationship between its nodes. Generally, surveillance information of various types is captured by one or more capture nodes and transmitted to or one or more viewing, content storage, or server nodes for display, analysis, storage, or a combination thereof. Server nodes may provide authentication services to validate user or device credentials prior to granting access to surveillance information. In one or more embodiments, specialized video compression hardware is provided to allow high quality video surveillance information to be transmitted across low bandwidth connections. Compression may also be performed on other types of surveillance information.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and methods of monitoring a child seated in the rear seat of a vehicle in a child's car seat employing a video camera which transmits a video signal to a video display receiver placed in the driver's frame of vision. The video camera as envisioned herein is placed within a child's stuffed toy, the camera signal being transmitted remotely to a separate video display monitor screen device, viewable to the parent driving the vehicle. The camera is adjustable in the number of positions in which it is placed in the vehicle compartment as well as the direction in which the camera is directed. To adjust the direction in which the camera is pointed, the invention includes a bendable, flexible and sturdy neck that interconnects the camera to a transmission unit, which provides the driver with a view of the child.

Abstract: A display screen includes a filter layer, a fluorescent layer having parallel fluorescent stripes, and an attachment layer between an excitation side of the fluorescent layer and a first side of the filter layer to attach the excitation side of fluorescent layer to the filter layer while providing vertical separation therebetween. The attachment layer includes attachment regions that are separated from each other by lateral spacings such that excitation-side air gaps are formed between areas of the fluorescent layer and the filter layer that correspond to the lateral spacings. During display operation, excitation light received on a second side of the filter layer propagates through to the first side of the filter layer, and at least a portion of the excitation light that propagates from the second side of the filter layer travels through the excitation-side air gaps to excite the fluorescent stripes.
