  • Patent number: 9624917
Abstract: The present invention concerns itself with systems and methods for the dissipation of hurricanes and/or tropical storms through the use of wind turbine pumps. These pumps, which are driven by the storm's own winds, draw cold deeper water from below the storm and spray it high into the air. This cold spray absorbs the heat energy from the air thus removing the driving force (the heat energy) from the hurricane. The spray also acts as a brake on wind speed. Hence, by using a series of these wind turbine pumps acting in cohesion, dissipation of hurricanes and/or tropical storms may be achieved.

  • Patent number: 9624919
Abstract: A fourth pin that slides on a rotary shaft is provided to a swash plate. A guiding surface for guiding the fourth pin is provided to the rotary shaft. The fourth pin is guided by the guiding surface, the swash plate is supported by the rotary shaft via the fourth pin, and a force having a component in a direction orthogonal to the direction of movement of a movable body acting on the swash plate is thereby reduced. Accordingly, there is a reduction in the force, which has a component in a direction orthogonal to the direction of movement of the movable body, acting on a coupling section of the movable body via a third pin from the swash plate. As a result, when the inclination of the swash plate is changed, unwanted tilting of the movable body relative to the direction of movement is suppressed.

The device includes a telescopic center post, a plurality of downwardly extending support legs, a plurality of coupling links pivotally attached at one end to a bottom end of the center post and pivotally attached at the other end to the bottom end of the support legs. The attachment of the coupling links to the support legs is linked at the bottom of the support legs so that the coupling serves as a foot on the support surface when extended. Hinge-type mechanisms between the coupling links and support legs allows the support legs to close to a vertical position parallel and adjacent to the center post while allowing the legs to automatically open when the tripod is placed on the support surface.

Abstract: Provided is a boot band that is configured for preventing the occurrence of buckling in the inner-layer portion of a band body. In the boot band, by applying a diameter-reducing tightening force on the band body when an engagement pawl of an inner-layer portion of the band body has entered a top-end engagement hole of an outer-layer portion of the band body, the top-end engagement hole rides over the engagement pawl. Buckling is prevented by providing, at the area of the top-end engagement hole opposite where the engagement pawl enters therein, a guide that faces the engagement pawl.

Abstract: A plural tapered fastener with a material receiving inward region. Fastener embodiments have particular utility in penetrating and securing work pieces of high density material, such as medium density fiberboard and high density fiberboard, without blemishing of the workpiece. A fastener may have a head and a shank extending from the head with an axis being defined by the shank and head. A head projection extends from a proximal end to a distal end away from the axis. A tapered portion is provided in the shank which tapers the shank axially inward to the head to define a material-receiving tapered inward region. A further tapered portion is provided along a lower leading edge of the head projection. During fastener driving, the inward region receives displaced workpiece material and the tapered head projection better penetrates the workpiece providing for more complete fastener driving with minimized blemishing of the workpiece.

Abstract: Bulging portions elastically coming into contact with an inner peripheral surface of a fixation hole of a panel member are formed on an outer peripheral surface of a shaft portion of a waterproof clip made of an elastic material, thereby sealing a space between these surfaces by elasticity of the bulging portions to obtain a waterproof function, and firmly fixing the shaft portion to the panel member by friction force between the inner peripheral surface and the bulging portions. The clip requires no special seal member, thereby reducing the number of parts and assembly steps. Each bulging portion is formed narrower toward the front side in the insertion direction of the shaft portion, thereby easily press fitting the shaft portion into the fixation hole while improving waterproofness and airtightness by sufficiently compressing the bulging portions. The clip can surely fix an interior material to the panel member with excellent sealability.
