Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for providing an additional service using a screen lock mode and a system and apparatus for the same. Especially, the present invention displays additional information, which is provided through a wallet service in a screen lock state of a standby mode, on one side of the screen, and provides the additional information by automatically executing a wallet application in response to cancellation of a screen lock function or provides, through an unlock screen, mission execution information that requires user participation. Further, when there is a request for mission execution through the unlock screen, the present invention provides a mission execution screen for execution of a mission by activating an electronic wallet, and then provides an additional service according to a result of the execution of the mission.

Abstract: A wireless device is enabled to provide offers. The wireless device receives card data for a financial account card and stores the card data in a memory associated with the wireless device. Responsive to using the card data in a transaction at a first merchant location, the wireless device receives transaction line-item data from a computing system associated with the first merchant location. The wireless device determines merchant information for a second merchant location and determines an offer associated with the second merchant location based on the line-item data and the merchant information for the second merchant. The wireless device presents the offer when the wireless device is near the second merchant location.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for interacting with advertisements on a virtual keyboard. A user can manipulate the advertisement based on performing one or more types of gestures or key presses on or near the virtual keys. One type of gesture triggers an interaction with the advertisement and another type of gesture or key press performs a standard keyboard function. The virtual keyboard can be used to collect data from the user and/or device displaying the keyboard.

Abstract: A media delivery system that may be used for tracking the number and type of human impressions of media content rendered by the system during the time the media was rendered is provided. The media delivery system includes a rendering device for rendering media content, an environmental sensor for sensing impressions and other environmental variables and a computing device configured to gather data related to the external states detected by the environmental sensor. The data may be provided to a backend server for correlating the data to the rendered media content. The system may include rules that interpret that data and may cause the system to custom select, tailor or control future playback of media on the system.

In one or more implementations, a digital medium environment is described in which sensors are included as part of objects, detect usage events that result from object usage, and produce sensor data indicative of the events. In this digital medium environment, a method of generating recommendations that are based on the object usage is described. For objects associated with a user, sensor data is obtained that describes usage events detected by the object sensors that are included as part of the objects. The obtained sensor data is analyzed to compute statistics that summarize usage of the objects. Based on the statistics, recommendations are made to the user, such as to suggest a good, a service, or information that is determined pertinent to the user based on the usage of the objects.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for protecting user privacy in, for example, online advertising environments. The method includes receiving data related to a user in a first communication session between a host server and a client device, and generating a user profile associated with the user. The method further may include encrypting the user profile to produce encrypted user profile data and generating a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted user profile data. Thereafter, either the decryption key or a portion of the encrypted user profile data may be transmitted to the client device and then deleted from host server before ending the first communication session. The method further may include establishing a second communication session between the host server and the client device and retrieving the transmitted content. Then targeted advertising may be provided by decrypting the encrypted user profile data.

Abstract: An online system provides instructions for inclusion in an application to an entity associated with the application. When the application executes the instructions, the application identifies content within the application capable of presenting content from the online system and requests a content item from the online system. Information identifying the user and a context in which the content item is to be presented may be provided to the online system. The application presents the content item from the online system via the identified content when the identified content is presented to the user by the application. Information describing a duration that the content item from the online system is presented by the application is communicated to the online system by the application, allowing the online system to more accurately maintain information describing presentation of the content item.

Abstract: A server-side technique to detect and mitigate client-side content filtering, such as ad blocking. In operation, the technique operates on a server-side of a client-server communication path to provide real-time detect the existence of a client filter (e.g., an ad blocker plug-in) through transparent request exchanges, and then to mitigate (defeat) that filter through one or operations designed to modify the HTML response body or otherwise obscure URLs. Preferably, the publisher (the CDN customer) defines one or more criteria of the page resources being served by the overlay (CDN) and that need to be protected against the client-side filtering.

Abstract: Methods are presented for managing shareable content articles in a social network. One of the methods includes receiving a plurality of articles from a publisher for access to selected users in the social network. In one example, the received articles are identified as having premium content. Each of the received articles is assigned a sharing parameter that includes a sharing threshold. The method further includes receiving a request from a first user, who is identified from the selected users of the social network, to share an article identified from the plurality of received articles with a second user in the social network, and providing the second user with access to the article when the sharing threshold is satisfied. The article is presented to the second user with supplemental content.

Historical transaction data for used vehicles may be obtained and processed to determine pricing data, where this determined pricing data may be associated with a particular configuration of a vehicle. The user can then be presented with an interface pertinent to the vehicle configuration utilizing the aggregated data set or the associated determined data where the user can make a variety of determinations. This interface may, for example, be configured to present the historical transaction data visually, with the pricing data such as a trade-in price, a list price, an expected sale price or range of sale prices, market low sale price, market average sale price, market high sale price, etc. presented relative to the historical transaction data.

Abstract: An improved method of raising funds may include offering products or services from third parties for sale to support the dreams, goals or purposes of the individuals involved and may extend for an indefinite period of time, and thus may be referred to as “dreamraising.” The dreamraising platform may find use with youth and charitable organizations, in an embodiment. The dreamraising platform may create relationships between three unique roles: organizations (any organization in need of raising funds); sellers (youths or other individuals affiliated with the organization); and supporters (purchasers who purchase from the sellers). Through the platform the sellers may create an online store, in which, while setting up their pages, sellers may identify their dream (their strongly desired goal or purpose) to be displayed on their online store page. The method may further include receiving on a first bus from a partition of the computing system a command block, the command block having data processing operations executable by the accelerator. The method may additionally include calculating, based on the command block and the set of metering rules, an accelerator usage value for the partition. The method may then include providing, on a second bus, the accelerator usage value.

Abstract: A contemplated method is third party assisted online payment processing, including: utilizing at least one processor to execute computer code that performs steps comprising: receiving, at a third party payment provider, a user selection communicated through an on-line shopping cart of a merchant, wherein the user selection identifies a bank and an alias; communicating to the bank associated with the user selection, using a network connection between the third party payment provider and the bank, the alias and an identification of the third party payment provider; receiving from the bank, at the third party payment provider and in response to the communicating, authorization for payment on behalf of the user; and providing, to the on-line shopping cart of the merchant, payment information; where the third party payment provider does not receive at any time a primary account number of the bank issued to the user. Abstract: Items with physical and temporal attributes are chronicled and organized visually through their user-generated images. For each image, item metadata is specified for later retrieval using image-matching techniques. For one embodiment, items forming an assembly are identified through their visual representation and useful metadata retrieved. Another embodiment, would allow users keep track of their property items by associating metadata, e.g. physical and origin attributes, acquisition source, relevant reviews, color, when used last time, type etc. with items' visual representation, including photographs, for later retrieval of metadata containing useful information about the item, by simply submitting another, existing or new photograph of the same item into the system. Another embodiment, would allow face recognition for images stored or acquired on users' personal or organizational computing device.

A method that can be performed at a server system includes: receiving media content relating to an available item from an electronic device of a listing user; receiving one or more keyword attributes that define attributes of the available item, the keyword attributes being generated by the listing user; and receiving location data identifying the location of the available item. The method stores the media content, keyword attributes, and the location data of the available item as an item record in an item database. Responsive to an accessing user accessing the server system using an electronic device, the method enables the accessing user to filter item records stored in the item database by the keyword attributes so as to view available items that match the keyword attributes.

Abstract: A scalable recommendation engine includes stateless processors in communication with at least one memory server that stores contextual data. A router is configured to direct a recommendation request to a first stateless processor, which is configured to generate a recommendation using contextual data from the memory server. A controller monitors the available processing bandwidth of the stateless processors and deploys an additional stateless processor if the available processing bandwidth is less than a minimum available processing bandwidth threshold. The controller can remove from deployment a stateless processor if the available processing bandwidth is greater than a maximum pre-determined available processing bandwidth threshold.

Abstract: A system and method of intelligently recommending items based on social media communications are provided. A communication with an audio portion in a first format is intercepted from a first service, An intent to transact is then detected within the communication at least in part based on analyzed sound in the audio portion. A recommendation engine can then be used to identify one or search results based on the intent to transact within the communication. Then a reply communication can be posted to the first service in the first format, with the reply communication including the one or more identified items.

Abstract: A method for evaluating fraudulent data in a Usage Based Insurance (UBI) system, includes retrieving trip data for a driver from a database. A processor on a computer determines tough context incidents in the trip data. Driving behavior of the driver during said tough context incidents is compared with driving behavior of other drivers during similar tough context incidents. The trip data is identified as potentially fraudulent if the driver's driving behavior is better by a predetermined amount compared to the other drivers' driving behavior.
