Abstract: A cell separation device imparts vibration to a cell culture film having a front surface to which cells adhere, from a rear surface side of the film, and consequently separates the cells from the film. The device includes an ultrasonic probe having an ultrasonically-vibrating vibrator, a frame disposed to surround the vibrator and a first detection part configured to detect a force applied to the frame in a specified direction. The vibrator selectively imparts ultrasonic vibration to specified cells adhering to the front surface of the film. Based on a detection result obtained by the first detection part, the frame is pushed until the force applied from the rear surface of the film to the frame reaches a specified magnitude. Thereafter, the vibrator ultrasonically vibrates in a state in which the frame makes contact with the rear surface of the film.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for stabilising an aqueous solution of ?-amylase, in particular by the use of glycerol, potassium sorbate and sodium carbonate. The cocktail of additives is particularly effective at maintaining the enzymatic activity of ?-amylase over time. Another aim of the present invention consists of using the cocktail for the specific function of maintaining the enzymatic activity of the ?-amylase. Another aim of the present invention is to provide an aqueous solution of ?-amylase containing the aforementioned cocktail. A final aim of the present invention consists of using the ?-amylase aqueous solution in bread-making, in malting, as a food additive, as a digestive agent, for sweetener production, in pharmacy and, finally, for maltose and maltose-enriched syrup production.

Abstract: The present invention relates to Acanthophysium sp. KMF001 strain having high cellulose activity, and more particularly, to a novel Acanthophysium sp. KMF001 strain having the ability to produce endo-?-1,4-glucanase, ?-glucosidase, and cellobiohydrolase and to a culture of the strain. The novel Acanthophysium sp. KMF001 strain according to the present invention can produce highly active cellulases, including endo-?-1,4-glucanase, ?-glucosidase, and cellobiohydrolase, and thus can be advantageously used not only for enzymatic saccharification of lignocellulosic biomass, but also in various industrial fields, including the pulp and paper making industry, the detergent industry, the agricultural product processing industry, the fiber industry, and the livestock industry, in which the degradation of cellulose is required.

Abstract: An approach for preparing a vaccine using ultraviolet radiation is described. Aspects of this approach involve multiple iterations of inactivation of the vaccine using an ultraviolet radiation source at a set of different wavelengths and dosages. A recognition test of the vaccine using the set of different wavelengths and dosages is performed after the multiple iterations of inactivation. A controller compares results from the inactivation test and the recognition test to determine an area of acceptable radiation dosages and wavelengths generated from the ultraviolet radiation source that irradiate the live organisms without affecting efficacy and safety of the vaccine. The area of acceptable ultraviolet radiation dosages and wavelengths is representative of a difference between an ultraviolet radiation dosage that is required for inactivation and an ultraviolet radiation dosage that leads to a loss of recognition.
