The article of footwear includes a support system that has one or more rods spaced from the sole and extending longitudinally from the forefoot portion to the heel portion on the foot-facing side. The rod is operatively connected to the sole at the forefoot portion and at the heel portion. A sling is suspended from the rod over the midfoot portion. The rod bends when the sole is flexed to thereby lift the sling away from the sole.

Abstract: An article of footwear includes an upper and a sole structure with a cushioning element. The cushioning element can be disposed in the upper and/or the sole structure. The cushioning element is configured to provide tactile feedback to a user during pronation events. The cushioning element can be a dynamically responsive material or shape that exhibits dilatant behavior in response to the application of a force.

Abstract: Footwear and a method of manufacture of footwear are presented. The footwear has different insulation zones and each zone has a different level of insulation. For example, an article of footwear includes a first insulation zone, a second insulation zone, and a third insulation zone. The first, second, and third insulation zones each provide a different level of insulation for a specific part of a wearer's foot. The first insulation zone may be the heel region of the article of footwear, the second insulation zone may be the main part of the foot region of the article of footwear excluding both the heel region and a toe region of the article of footwear, and the third insulation zone may be the toe region of the article of footwear.

Abstract: A sole structure for an article of footwear comprises a sole plate that has a foot-facing surface with a forefoot portion, and a ground-facing surface opposite from the foot-facing surface. The sole plate has a plurality of grooves extending at least partially transversely relative to the sole plate in the forefoot portion of the foot-facing surface, and a plurality of ribs protruding at the ground-facing surface, extending at least partially transversely relative to the sole plate, and underlying the plurality of grooves. At least some grooves of the plurality of grooves are configured to be open when the sole structure is dorsiflexed in a first portion of a flexion range, and closed when the sole structure is dorsiflexed in a second portion of the flexion range that includes flex angles greater than in the first portion of the flexion range.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a composite laminated structure for shoe stiffeners and preparing method thereof. The composite laminated structure comprises: a fabric core layer, and a hot-melt-adhesive layer covering and interpenetrating the fabric core layer, wherein the fabric core layer comprises a fabric having a fabric count of about 61 to 13 wpi and about 60 to 30 fpi and a weight more than or equal to 100 g/m2. Preparing methods for said composite laminated structure are very simple processes. With the fabric core layer, proper performances could be achieved with simple hot-melt-adhesives. High level of cheap fillers, such as recycled materials, inorganic fillers or the mixture thereof, could be added while still maintaining excellent split tear strength, resilience and bending stiffness. Thus, the use of virgin materials and the overall cost could be greatly reduced for shoe stiffeners.

The presence of a second surface with a releasable attachment to the foot means that the foot is indirectly attached to the inside of the footwear via the insert member and its attachment to the footwear. This impedes the foot slipping from the footwear and prevents movement of the foot against the insert member.

Abstract: Lace Ratchet Fastening Device (LRFD) enables easy lace fastening and release. The LRFD has two positions: “locked” and “unlocked”. In the locked position the device works as a lace ratchet i.e. allowing the lace to be pulled forwards but blocking any lace motion backwards. After fastening the lace remain fastened until the LRFD is switched into unlocked position by pressing a lever and lace releasing. Each LRFD has a turning gate with sharp front end rotatably installed in a channel. The turning gate has a preloaded helical torque spring with bias which keeps the LRFD in locked position when the lever is not pressed. Unlike prevalent lace fasteners with serrated surfaces, which cause accelerated lace wear, LRFD's smooth gate and channel surfaces minimize lace wear. Parallel and triangular LRFD configurations enable footwear lace fastening serving as “Ratchet Buckles”. Single LRFDs can be used for fastening of garments and other objects.

Each of the buckle components may have a connection area via which one of the elements is connectable to the buckle component, and a coupling area wherein the buckle components can be coupled to one another in a form-fit manner. The buckle components may be releasably locked to one another at the coupled position by a locking element. Each of the coupling areas of the buckle components may be defined by a hook profile extending in the width direction. The hook profiles of the buckle components may be configured as complementary elements and interengage at the coupled position of the buckle components. One embodiment includes using the buckle to couple two elements on an object that can be worn on the human body, and in some cases, a ballistic vest.

Abstract: Provided is a buckle including a plug member and a socket member, wherein the plug member includes lock arms and a guide rod located at a middle position between the lock arms, and the socket member includes a holder formed in a chamber so as to catch the lock arm. The guide rod is provided on the front end thereof with a holding member, and the socket member is centrally provided with a guide groove for the coupling of the guide rod and is also provided with a holding protrusion for the coupling of the holding member. As such, in addition to the coupling between the lock arm and the holder, another coupling structure is provided so as to prevent the buckle from being easily unfastened by unintentional external contact or pressure while ensuring convenient separation of the buckle with one hand as needed.
