Abstract: A method for measuring three dimensional coordinates of each of points on a surface of an object includes pre-storing an algorithm that includes a plurality of parameters. A driving device is controlled to drive a distance sensor to move to each of measuring positions, and a first distance between each of the points and the distance sensor is obtained using the distance sensor. Each position information of the distance sensor is obtained using a position sensor, when the distance sensor is located at each of the measuring positions. Once a parameter of a reference coordinate is determined, the three dimensional coordinates of each of the points is computed using the algorithm based on the plurality of parameters.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring volume flow of a fluid flowing through a measuring tube in the direction of its longitudinal axis, comprising a coil arrangement, at least two measuring electrodes coupling with the fluid and a control/evaluation unit, which in connection with the coil arrangement produces a magnetic field periodically changing its polarity and extending essentially transversely to the longitudinal axis of the measuring tube. The control/evaluation unit during a measuring phase at an essentially constant magnetic field determines the volume flow of the fluid in the measuring tube based on a voltage induced in the measuring electrodes. The control/evaluation unit supplies the coil arrangement with an overvoltage during a delay phase, and the delay phase begins at the point in time of the reversal of the polarity of the magnetic field and ends at the point in time of the beginning of the measuring phase.

Abstract: A temperature sensing device comprising a plurality of thermocouples in a hollow tube, where the thermocouples sensing tips contact the outer wall of the tube, and a heat flux source that heats the hollow tube. The hollow tube is inserted through a cross section of a pipe perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pipe. The apparatus measures a void fraction in a two-phase flow of a liquid-gas mixture flowing through the pipe. A process of measuring void fraction whereby the hollow tube is heated to an initial temperature, and in the presence of a liquid-gas mixture flow through the pipe the difference is calculated between the initial temperature of the tube and the temperature during liquid-gas mixture flow, to determine the void fraction in the two-phase flow of liquid-gas mixture through the pipe.

Abstract: The field of application of present invention relates to weighing systems of vehicles in motion also called WIM systems (Weigh In Motion). The indicated WIM system foresees the placement of a metal plate to the street level, above which vehicles to be weighed may transit, and this metal plate, which is also called loading plate, is mounted above a cavity obtained on the road surface so that it can flex at the passage of the vehicles above it. The system provides that the measurement of the deflection of said loading plate is carried out with the aid of suitable sensors, and that the estimated weight is obtained through the modeling of the flexing of said loading plate depending on the weight of the vehicle passing over. The invention discloses a particularly advantageous configuration to achieve a weighing system that can be modelled with the required accuracy.
