Security may be provided through the requirement of a proper query code being communicated to the tag prior to generation of a wireless data or identifier response.

Abstract: The present invention builds and conveys to users in need thereof a Grass Growth Index (GGI) and a Nematode Suitability Index (NSI), to assist the determination of whether and when to administer parasiticides to grazing livestock, such as bovine, ovine and caprine animals. In particular, the invention relates to a computer-implemented method whereby GGI and NSI are calculated based upon both user-supplied information (e.g. grass/forage type and location data) and user-independent information (e.g. weather and environmental condition data associated with the location over time, and grass and nematode growth parameters). Importantly, the disclosed methods provide users with information as to when and where their herds of grazing animals may be at the greatest risk of parasite infestation.

Abstract: A dog grooming clamp. The dog grooming clamp has a base member, two parallel and opposing arms extending from either end of the base member, and a third arm with a threaded aperture that is perpendicularly attached to a first arm. A hollow channel extends along the entire length of the base member. A handle is pivotally attached to a second arm and designed to push a pin into the channel when rotated in a first direction, such that when a rope is positioned within the channel, the pin pushes the rope against the channel, locking it in place. The rope can be easily released by rotating the handle in an opposing direction. A threaded rod is inserted within the threaded aperture and is used to easily attach the dog grooming clamp to a pole.

Abstract: An animal training and/or monitoring system and an animal-worn device that is capable of receiving and sending various inputs and outputs, respectively, from/to a wireless mobile device. The wireless mobile device has a software application that allows a human user to wirelessly communicate with the animal-worn transceiver via direct, networked or cellular wireless protocols. The animal-worn device interacts with the applications on the wireless mobile device to allow for a variety of functions, such as the transfer of commands or stimuli to the animal, the transfer of data regarding the animal or its environment to the wireless mobile device, and/or the transfer of instructions from the animal-worn device to an external device. The wireless mobile device may also transmit new firmware to the animal-worn device to modify its inputs and outputs.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed to enhance the training potential of a domestic animal during training, thereby shortening the training period and/or increasing the effectiveness of the training. The method involves first administering to the domestic animal a pharmaceutical composition comprising a cognitive enhancing agent in an amount effective to improve cognitive function. The enhanced cognition allows the domestic animal to learn to perform a task and/or to change its existing behavior more effectively and on an accelerated basis. Therefore, while the animal's cognitive function is enhanced, the method then involves conditioning the domestic animal to perform a task or change an existing behavior.
