Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for indicating restrictions in a fuel system vapor recirculation line. In one example, a fuel tank is evacuated responsive to a fuel level below a threshold, and if the vacuum is relieved via a negative pressure relief valve in a capless fuel filler system, the negative pressure relief valve is indicated to be functional such that, responsive to a fuel level greater than a threshold, the fuel system may be evacuated and a restriction may be indicated in the vapor recirculation line responsive to the negative pressure valve not relieving the applied vacuum. In this way, restrictions in the vapor recirculation line may be rapidly diagnosed and excessive loading of a fuel vapor canister may be prevented, thus reducing the potential for evaporative emissions being released to the atmosphere and prolonging fuel vapor canister function.

Abstract: A system may include a compressor including a compression mechanism having first and second compression members defining a compression pocket disposed between the first and second compression members that decreases in volume during operation of the compression mechanism. A heat exchanger receives compressed working fluid from the compressor. An expansion device may be disposed downstream of the heat exchanger. A lubricant separator receives lubricant and working fluid discharged from the compression mechanism and provides separated lubricant to the compression mechanism. A lubricant-injection flow path may include a lubricant fitting and extends between the lubricant separator and the compression pocket such that separated lubricant is injected into the compression pocket through the lubricant fitting.

Abstract: A pumping system for a pool or spa application that pumps water. The pumping system comprising a means for moving water through the pool or spa application, a means for driving the means for moving water, and a means for controlling the means for driving. The means for controlling monitors a current flow rate based on an input power to the means for driving, monitors whether the current flow rate is above a priming flow value in order to identify whether the means for moving water has become initially primed, and indicates a priming alarm if the means for moving water has not become initially primed before reaching a maximum priming time allotment, wherein the maximum priming time allotment is a fixed time period.

Abstract: A method for controlling a pump arrangement upon clogging. The arrangement includes a pump and a control unit. The pump includes a motor, and the control unit drives the motor. The motor during operation is associated with an operational parameter from which the motor torque may be derived. The operational parameter has a normal value PN during normal operation of the motor in a first direction. The method includes the steps of driving the motor in a first direction by the control unit, stopping the motor if a real value P of the operational parameter exceeds a predetermined clogging limit PI, driving the motor in an opposite second direction a predetermined flushing time TR by the control unit, and stopping the motor if the absolute value of the real value P of the operational parameter during the flushing time TR exceeds the absolute value of a first unfastening limit PL1.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the delivery rate of a pump. In this context, a value of the delivery level and a value of the power of the pump are determined. A probability density function is calculated for the delivery level and the power. A first probability density function of the delivery rate is calculated on the basis of a delivery level-delivery rate relationship and the probability density function of the delivery level. A second probability density function of the delivery rate is determined on the basis of a power-delivery rate relationship and the probability density function of the power. A combined probability density function of the delivery rate is determined on the basis of the first and second probability density functions. The delivery rate is determined on the basis of the combined probability density function.

Abstract: An electric machine includes a rotor, a stator, and a winding. The rotor includes a rotor core and blades extending from the rotor core. Each blade is curved in an axial direction along the rotor core and is simultaneously configured as a pole that carries a magnetic flux of the electrical machine and as an airfoil that compresses a gas when the rotor is rotated. The gas flows axially between successive blades of the blades. The stator includes a stator core and teeth extending from the stator core toward the blades. Slots are defined between successive teeth. The winding is wound through at least two slots. The stator is mounted radially relative to the rotor so that a gap separates the blades from an exterior face of the teeth that is axially aligned along the stator core to follow an axial edge of a blade of the blades.
