Publication number: 20170198463Abstract: A pressure plunger which consists of a hollow lower tube inserted into a clogged toilet or drain causing no significant displacement, of fluid. After the lower tube's compressible end is fixedly attached to a fluid channel, the actuator cylinder may be inserted into the lower tube to create pressure downward and upward to remove blockage. Unlike other designs this plunger consists of two separate sections, each integrally formed, which function together without assembly or disassembly. Vents near the top of the lower tube allow in air to release vacuum pressure when pulling near the top of the lower tube prohibiting fluid being pulled to the top of the lower tube. The lack of assembly and disassembly is also significantly different regarding cleaning and sanitizing. The upper actuator tube can be pulled out and cleaned on the outside and the lower tube can be easily cleaned from either end.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2017Publication date: July 13, 2017Inventor: William Scott Gray

Publication number: 20170198464Abstract: The present invention is directed to a toilet that includes a slanted fill tube with an optical proximity sensor positioned on or within the inner surface of the fill tube. The optical proximity sensor includes an incoherent light source and a photodiode. The optical proximity sensor as disclosed herein detects small changes in volumes added to a toilet bowl. Consequently, small volumes of excrement that are deposited in the toilet bowl by a user may be detected with greater accuracy. In some embodiments, information about the volume of urine or feces deposited into the toilet bowl is recorded and calculated by a processor. Other sensors, including a toilet bowl water level sensor and a gas sensor may collect data in combination with the optical proximity sensor to provide more complete information about the user's health.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2016Publication date: July 13, 2017Inventors: David R. Publication number: 20170198466Abstract: A helical drain for a toilet is disclosed. The present invention relates to a novel toilet drain configuration. Specifically, the novel toilet drain configuration comprises a helical loop trapway. The drain of the present invention exits the toilet bowl and forms a substantially vertical tubular loop running generally parallel to the width of the bowl or stool, or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bowl or stool, before being connected to a sewer. The drain of the present invention functions like a P-trap syphon in removing the contents of the bowl. The diameter of the looped tubular portion of the drain may vary by approximately 20 percent or less in the direction of the sewer connection. Sensors may be placed on the drain to monitor drain contents, fluid levels, and drain performance. The drain may be fitted with valves to control the flow of fluids and gases through the drain.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2016Publication date: July 13, 2017Inventors: David R. Publication number: 20170198468Abstract: The present invention is directed to a toilet that includes a liquid level sensor on the surface of a flush jet fill tube. The liquid level sensor is a noncontact electrical impedance sensor that is an electrical capacitor. The capacitor may be used alone or with other volume sensors to detect volume of materials added to a toilet bowl. Some embodiments include a processor which records data and provides reports that may be clinically useful to assess the user's health status. The temporal nature of the liquid level sensor measurements is particularly useful because urination or defecation may be measured over time. Not only are total volumes detected but rates at which waste is deposited into the toilet during the entire excretion event are detected. These measurements are particularly useful in assessing certain health conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2016Publication date: July 13, 2017Inventors: David R. Publication number: 20170198502Abstract: The present anchor device provides a support for holding a security anchor within a hole, such as a grommet hole, formed through a work surface, such as a table top, a shelf, or other board or sheet. The security anchor has a loop for attaching a lock or receiving a cable lock wrapped about the loop and a cross member to prevent the withdrawal of the security anchor from the grommet hole. The anchor device has a cross member with a dipped portion that supports the loop of the security anchor. The present support device prevents the security anchor from falling down through the hole, while holding the loop of the securityanchor just within the hole and within easy grasp of the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2017Publication date: July 13, 2017Inventor: Jay S. Publication number: 20170198503Abstract: A vehicle door latch assembly for maintaining the vehicle door in a closed position including during an angled impact to the door latch of the vehicle. The latch assembly includes a catch, a pawl, and an actuator coupled to a door latch base. The catch is movable to and from a closed position wherein the catch is configured to grasp a portion of a striker coupled to the vehicle to maintain the door closed. The catch is also movable to and from an open position wherein the catch is configured to release the striker to allow the door to open. The pawl is configured to maintain the catch in the closed position until the door handle is actuated. The latch assembly includes a blocking plate including an extension member which is deformable during an impact to align with one of or both a pawl lifter and the pawl member to prevent their rotation and thereby maintain the latch assembly and the vehicle door in a latched position during such an impact.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2017Publication date: July 13, 2017Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Daniel Carl Bejune, Kosta Papanikolaou

Publication number: 20170198505Abstract: A door handle mounting device for a motor vehicle includes a door handle mount with a receiving space and a closing device attached to the door handle mount which is accommodated at least in part in the receiving space. The closing device includes a housing and a cylinder core rotatably supported in the housing and an actuator that is non-rotatably connected to the cylinder core for actuating a lock of the motor vehicle. A return element which exerts a return force on the actuator retains the actuator in its initial position or returns it thereto. The actuator is adapted to be rotated against the return force of the return element from the initial position and to an unlocking position or into a locking position. The return element is disposed lying radially surrounding the cylinder core and outside of the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2017Publication date: July 13, 2017Applicant: Huf Huelsbeck & Fuerst GmbH & Co. Publication number: 20170198506Abstract: A check and release mechanism for holding a door in a desired opened position against the force of a closing cylinder includes an operator rod moved with the door which rod has a latch element pivotally mounted to one side of the rod and is moved along a guide slot in a mechanism case, by opening movement of the door into an enlarged engagement chamber, and the leading end of the latch element engages a first fixed feature therein at the approximate location where it is desired to hold the door open. That engagement causes a slight tilting of the latch element and stops further opening advance of the door and operating rod. A slight retraction of the door and the operating rod caused a trailing end of the tilted latch element to engage a second fixed feature in the chamber which causes the latch element to tilt further in the same direction preventing further closing movement of the door.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2016Publication date: July 13, 2017Inventor: Steve Sowter
