Abstract: A system for measuring the flow properties of a tear duct, to ascertain its flow resistance, includes a syringe communicating with a cannula to supply liquid to a punctum of an eye, the cannula having a tip to seal to the punctum. A motor is arranged to actuate the syringe. A pressure sensor monitors the pressure of the liquid supplied to the punctum. A monitoring circuit provides an indication of the flow resistance. A feedback circuit controls the motor in accordance with the measured pressure, to maintain a preset liquid pressure, or to ensure that the liquid pressure does not exceed a preset threshold. The system may prevent flow through the other punctum of the eye. If the flow rate of the liquid supplied to the punctum is also monitored, the monitoring circuit is arranged to determine the flow resistance from the pressure and the flow rate.

Abstract: A scanning LASER ophthalmoscope (SLO) system for real-time montaging includes an adaptive optics scanning light ophthalmoscope (AOSLO) and a wide field scanning light ophthalmoscope (WFSLO). At least one stabilization mirror is controlled by a computer to optically stabilize the AOSLO based at least in part on feedback from the WFSLO. The SLO system also includes a steering means. The SLO system continues to acquire and combine a plurality of AOSLO image frames forming a combined AOSLO image at each of a plurality of narrow field of view (FOV) sites until a predetermined number of images or a predetermined image quality metric (IQM) at each of the combined AOSLO images is achieved. A plurality of the combined AOSLO images is combined to form a SLO montaged image of a wide FOV. A method to montage a plurality of scanning LASER ophthalmoscope (SLO) narrow field of view (FOV) images is also described.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes compact remote eye tracking systems that include depth sensing capacity. In one aspect, a method of eye tracking includes illuminating a subject's eye with illumination; detecting, in a depth sensor, optical signals reflected from the subject's face in response to the illumination; generating a depth map based on the optical signals detected by the depth sensor; acquiring an intensity image based on optical signals reflected from the subject's face in response to the illumination; determining, based on a portion of the depth map corresponding to the subject's eye, an estimated distance between the subject's eye and a target screen; determining an estimated gaze direction of the subject's eye based on information obtained from the intensity image; and determining, based on the estimated gaze direction and the estimated distance between the subject's eye and the target screen, a gaze point for the subject's eye.

Abstract: A fundus imaging system is used to generate fundus images when a patient has not received mydriatic pharmaceuticals. The fundus imaging system includes a processor and memory, an infrared light source, and an image sensor array. The infrared light source illuminates the patient's fundus using only infrared light. The fundus imaging system uses one or more different near-infrared wavelengths to illuminate the patient's fundus, and the fundus imaging system captures images during infrared light illumination. Then the fundus imaging system generates a color image of the patient's eye fundus based on generated lightness maps of the infrared-illuminated images.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring a patient during a procedure. A physiological parameter of a patient is monitored during a procedure at an associated sensor. Respective cumulative times are measured for which the monitored physiological parameter of the patient meets each of a plurality of threshold values during the procedure. A risk metric is calculated for the patient, representing an effect of monitored physiological parameter on a patient outcome related to the procedure from the measured cumulative times for which the monitored physiological parameter of the patient met each of the plurality of threshold values.

The at least two photodetectors are configured to detect alignment between the wearable device and a target on or in the body of the wearer (e.g., to detect the location of vasculature within the body of the wearer relative to the at least two photodetectors). Alignment of the at least two photodetectors relative to the target could enable detection of one or more physiological properties of the wearer. For example, the wearable device could include a sensor configured to detect a property of the target when the sensor is above the target, and alignment of the target relative to the at least two photodetectors could include the sensor being located above the target.
