Abstract: A system and method is disclosed to reduce variation of the clinical decision making process when an image reporting and data system (IRADS) for medical diagnosis is used. Image reporting and data systems provide guidelines for an operator to identify images as belonging to one of a number of categories and specific clinical actions are then recommended based upon such categories. Some clinical actions such as biopsies may be recommended by IRADS even when they are not necessary. The present inventive concept is configured to utilize a Computer-Assisted Diagnosis (CAD) system that is specifically programmed to minimize discrepancies between the recommended clinical actions of an individual or specific group of experts using the standard IRADS process and the optimum clinical actions based on correlation with biopsy proven data. The resulting CAD system reduces the number of unnecessary clinical actions such as biopsies based on the operator's error profile.

Methodologies and system enhancements that augment text to be viewed by an individual, whatever the source of the image, are provided in order to aid the individual in poor viewing conditions and/or to overcome physiological or psychological visual defects affecting the individual or to simply improve the quality of the reading experience for the user.

Abstract: Images of foreground objects in a scene are generated by causing electromagnetic radiation to be emitted having a first spectral power distribution from a surface of a first foreground object, which is adjacent or at least partially obscured by a second foreground object. A first image of both of the first and second foreground objects is acquired whilst the first foreground object emits electromagnetic radiation with the first spectral power distribution. A second image of the first and second foreground objects is acquired whilst the first foreground object is not emitting electromagnetic radiation or is emitting electromagnetic radiation with a second spectral power distribution which is different to the first spectral power distribution. An alpha matte of the first and second foreground objects is generated based on a comparison of the first image and second image.

Abstract: Smooth animation effects during zooming are provided by retaining content displayed at a previous zoom level. If the zoom operation is a zoom out operation, new content is stretched to a current zoom level, aligned with the retained content, and placed underneath it. If the zoom operation is a zoom in operation, new content is scaled down to the current zoom level, aligned with the retained content, and displayed on top of the retained content. The new content is then zoomed with the retained content. The retained content is then deleted. When zooming out, the retained content fades out. When zooming in, the new content fades in. Smooth scrolling animation is also provided by pre-rendering a portion of content and teleporting to a final viewport position and thereby skipping over blank content.

Abstract: A method of image rendering includes representing a height map of terrain elevation data as a virtual texture; sampling a portion of the height map terrain elevation data on a uniform grid corresponding to render nodes used for rendering a terrain mesh, where a correspondence of the grid to the render nodes results in the sampled terrain elevation data for a render node being entirely contained within one physical page of memory, and where the equivalent position of a heightmap virtual co-ordinate in a page of physical memory is obtained based upon an offset to a physical page co-ordinate, rather than by reference to an indirection texture; and rendering terrain mesh for a render node according to terrain elevation data obtained from a single physical page of memory corresponding to respective virtual co-ordinates.

Abstract: A method and system for high-performance real-time adjustment of colors and patterns on one or more pre-selected elements in a playing video, interactive 360° content, or other image, using graphics processing unit (“GPU”) shader code to process the asset per-pixel and blend in a target color or pattern based on prepared masks and special metadata lookup tables encoded visually in the video file. The method and system can generate asset-specific optimized GPU code that is generated from templates. Pixels are blended into the target asset using the source image for shadows and highlights, one or more masks, and various metadata lookup-tables, such as a texture lookup-table that allows for changing or adding patterns, z-depth to displace parts of the image, or normals to calculate light reflection and refraction.

Abstract: A virtual reality display system that renders images at different resolutions in different parts of a display. Reduces rendering latency by rendering at a lower resolution in selected regions, for example on the sides of a display where human vision has lower resolution than in the center. Pixels in low resolution regions are combined into grid elements, and rendering may generate grid element values rather than individual pixel values. Rendering may use ray casting, rasterization, or both. Variable resolution rendering may be combined with variable level of detail geometry models to further reduce rendering time. Selected objects may be designed as high resolution objects that are rendered at a high resolution even in low resolution display regions.

Asset adapters receive situational awareness data from a respective plurality of mission assets and convert the situational awareness data into a central data format. Mission constraint adapters receive mission constraint data associated with real-time mission constraints from a respective plurality of mission constraint databases and convert the mission constraint data into the central data format. A mission control adapter receives control data from a mission control station to convert mission control data into the central data format and to provide mission status data to the at least one mission control station for real-time control of the mission. A data model repository maintains a universal data model tracking real-time interactive states of the plurality of mission assets, the real-time mission constraints, and the mission control data. Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a system and a method for constructing a 3D structure. A stream of images having timestamps associated is received at first. A plurality of image sub-groups is created using the stream of images. The plurality of image sub-groups are used for extracting features of the images present in the image sub-groups. The features are used for generating point correspondences between the images. Epipolar geometries for the image sub-groups are calculated for filtering of the point correspondences, and generating filtered point correspondences. Further, 3D points representing one or more 3D point structures are generated using the filtered point correspondences. A registered 3D structure is constructed using the one or more 3D structures upon considering a scale correction and transformation between the one or more 3D structures. Further, the registered 3D structure is dense reconstructed for improving the pixel density of the 3D structure.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for enhancing urban surface model with image data obtained from a satellite image. Three dimensional models of an urban cityscape obtained from digital surface models may comprise surface location information but lack image information associated with the cityscape, such as the color and texture of building facades. The location of the satellite at the time of recording the satellite image interest may be obtained from metadata associated with the satellite image. A 3D model of a cityscape corresponding to the satellite image may be subjected to a transformation operation to determine portions of the 3D model that are viewable from a location corresponding to the location of the satellite when taking the picture. Visible facades buildings of the 3D model ma be identified and mapped to portions of the satellite image which may then be used in rendering 2D images from the 3D model.
