Abstract: Techniques are provided for alerting drivers of hazardous driving conditions using the sensing capabilities of wearable mobile technology. In one aspect, a method for alerting drivers of hazardous driving conditions includes the steps of: collecting real-time data from a driver of a vehicle, wherein the data is collected via a mobile device worn by the driver; determining whether the real-time data indicates that a hazardous driving condition exists; providing feedback to the driver if the real-time data indicates that a hazardous driving condition exists, and continuing to collect data from the driver in real-time if the real-time data indicates that a hazardous driving condition does not exist. The real-time data may also be collected and used to learn characteristics of the driver. These characteristics can be compared with the data being collected to help determine, in real-time, whether the driving behavior is normal and whether a hazardous driving condition exists.

A side turn signal lamp is incorporated in a minor housing. A downward inclined surface is formed at a position above a lens of the side turn signal lamp in the mirror housing. The downward inclined surface is inclined obliquely downward and is lustrous. A part of turn signal lamp light emitted from the lens to an external field is reflected by the downward inclined surface. An oil pump is to be driven by the internal combustion engine to supply oil to the electric motor and the generator and to the hydraulic clutch. A valve is to decrease a first amount of the oil to be supplied to the electric motor and the generator and to increase a second amount of the oil to be supplied to the hydraulic clutch when the hydraulic clutch is in an engaged state. The valve is to increase the first amount of the oil and to decrease the second amount of the oil when the hydraulic clutch is in a disengaged state.

Abstract: The invention concerns a bumper unit for a motor vehicle, with a bumper cross-member which is connected to a vehicle structure via a crumple element. To provide a bumper unit which has optimal crash behavior on frontal impacts both with small overlap and with larger overlap, according to the invention it is provided that a deformation element is arranged on the bumper cross-member outside of the crumple element with a deformation portion running obliquely relative to a vehicle longitudinal axis X, towards and spaced from the vehicle structure. It is proposed that the deformation element has a rearward running connecting portion which is connected to the bumper cross-member and a center portion running towards the outside from the connecting portion and adjoining the deformation portion.

Abstract: A modular component bumper guard for protecting vehicles from damage caused by parking collisions is disclosed. The guard is comprised of a main body, two side pieces, two impact absorbing pads, and two straps. A “field of loops” on the vehicle side of the main body of the guard, give the guard its adjustable in length and adjustable positioning properties. The guard is temporarily attached to a vehicle's bumper and wraps around its fenders to absorb the impact of colliding objects. It may be easily attached and detached from a vehicle by means of two or more bungee cords with hook fittings and/or two or more suction cups with handles. Impact absorbing pads secured solely by hook and loop fastener straps add an extra level of protection and potential customization.
