Abstract: A new apple tree is characterized by a semi upright plant habit. The fruit has a red skin over color and a red flesh color. The timing of the fruit ripening in France is late August to September.
Abstract: ‘Gala 0502’ apple is ‘Gala’ sport notable for its fruit, which is fully colored well before harvest, and has a distinctive solid purple-red overcolor. ‘Gala 0502’ can be harvested in a single picking.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar Citrus limon (L.) Brum.f. is provided which displays a substantially different time for initial fruit harvest than the standard ‘Primofiori’ cultivar (non-patented in the United States). The attractive juicy fruit of the new cultivar commonly is initially ready for harvest by about the end of March. This follows greatly the typical October initial harvest time for the ‘Primofiori’ cultivar. The new cultivar is a diploid, and displays a relatively dense spreading growth habit. The supply of the fresh fruit market for consumption, use in beverages, and in cooking is facilitated at an atypical season of the year by the new cultivar.
Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Lantana plant named ‘Balucred’, characterized by its dark red-colored inflorescences, dark green-colored foliage, and moderately vigorous, compact-mounded growth habit, is disclosed.
Abstract: A new and distinct Geum plant named ‘TNGEURO’ characterized by red-orange flower color, heavy flowering, dense, deep green foliage with large attractive leaves, a compact, mounding habit, long bloom time, and excellent vigor.
Abstract: A new cultivar of Dianthus plant named, ‘Uribest52’, that is characterized by its flowers that are deep red-purple in color, its flowers that are fragrant, its floriferous blooming habit, and its strong stems.
Abstract: A new Petunia plant named ‘PEHY0017’ particularly distinguished by its mounding plant habit, medium sized, blue colored flowers with a pattern of dark blue veining, medium green foliage, good branching and early flowering.
Abstract: A new and distinct Anthurium plant named ‘ANTHERBI’ particularly distinguished by having shiny, bright red, orbicular cordate and very durable spathes that retain the original color for a very long period of time, dark green and long elliptical cordate, durable leaves, white spadix with yellow-orange tips, early and rich flowering continuously throughout the year and a plant height of 38.0 cm to 42.0 cm, is disclosed.
Abstract: The new variety Black Limón is part of the “long leaves” group of Sansevieria varieties and is a naturally-occurring mutation of the Sansevieria trifasciata variety ‘Laurentii’. It can reach 50-80 cm in length, with an average of approximately 3-5 leaves per plant. The plant is cylindrically shaped, with an erect growth habit and the arrangement of the leaves is in the form of a rosette. The new variety shows coloration very different from its parent variety and has variegated green leaves with light yellow-green colored margins. The new variety needs little water and is very drought tolerant.
Abstract: A new and distinct Calibrachoa plant named ‘USCALCHSTM’, characterized by its compact, upright to outwardly spreading and mounding to eventually trailing plant habit; vigorous growth habit; freely branching habit; dense and bushy appearance; freely flowering habit; bright yellow-colored petals with red purple-colored speckles and splotches forming a star-shaped pattern; and good garden performance.
Abstract: A method of scanning a laser beam across a set of cells includes during a first interval, scanning a laser beam across a set of cells; and during a second interval, deflecting the laser beam away from the set of cells. The first interval is selected to cause microcavitation in at least a portion of the cells from the set of cells.
Abstract: A load-carrying body for reducing torsional and tensile loading on electrical components in an implantable medical electrical lead includes an electronic component disposed in-line with the implantable medical electrical lead, and a casing for the electronic component. The electronic component has a proximal end conductively coupled to a lead conductor and a distal end conductively coupled to a lead electrode. The casing is mechanically coupled to the lead so as to isolate the electrical component from torque or tensile loads applied to the lead, the lead electrode, or both.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for simultaneously operating the horn and light systems of a motorized vehicle is provided. The controller used to operate the systems can be a single controller that operates the horn when a certain range of pressure is applied to the controller and operates the horn and lights systems when a stronger pressure is applied. The system can include a dedicated horn operating system controller independent of the dual function controller to eliminate the need for differing pressures to operate the horn and light systems substantially simultaneously. Also disclosed are apparatuses and methods to coordinate a vehicle braking system with the vehicle horn and light systems to improve the reception of safety and/or emergency warnings.
Abstract: The present invention relates to metformin glycinate salt and pharmaceutical compositions thereof for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. The method includes administration of the metformin glycinate salt by various routes selected from oral, intravenous injectable, intramuscular injectable, nasal, intraperitoneal, or sublingual, in order to achieve a reduction in blood glucose levels. The invention further relates to the synthesis of a new 1,1-dimethylbiguanide glycinate salt, called Metformin Glycinate. The resulting salt exhibits advantages over other metformin salts. These advantages are due, in the first place, to the fact that the glycine counterion exhibits hypoglycemic effects by itself. Moreover, the salt exhibits more rapid absorption, reaching higher plasma concentrations than those produced with metformin hydrochloride.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a plurality of data lines each having a plurality of straight line portions and a plurality of curved portions connected to a plurality of the straight line portions; a plurality of gate lines intersecting the data lines; thin film transistors connected to the data lines and the gate lines; and pixel electrodes connected to the thin film transistors. Accordingly, even in a case where driver inversion becomes column inversion, apparent inversion can become dot inversion. As a result, it is possible to eliminate transverse line flicker and to increase a charging rate of pixels. In addition, uniformity of the pixels can be maintained, so that the inversion driving schemes can be applied to a PVA mode. As a result, it is possible to obtain a wide viewing angle and to improve side or lateral visibility.
