Abstract: Disclosed is a composite hydrological monitoring system, in which a counterweight component and a test component are respectively connected to both opposite ends of a strip and a plurality of sensors are disposed at different vertical positions. Accordingly, the scour depth can be measured by sensing the location of the counterweight component, whereas the water level and/or flow velocity can be determined by signals from the sensors. When the counterweight component moves downward with sinking of the riverbed, the strip would be pulled down and thus causes the test component to present a change in mechanical energy. Accordingly, the sinking depth can be measured by sensing the change of the mechanical energy. Additionally, since the water level variation would cause signal changes of the sensors arranged in a row along a vertical direction, the change of water level can be determined accordingly.

The system may generate a route for the sequence with the route having transportation directions between the starting location, the second location, and the first location indicative of the sequence. The system may display the route in a graphical user interface of an application.

Abstract: Systems and methods relate to, inter alia, calculating a number of expected collisions in an area over a time period. The systems and methods may further determine a number of observed collisions in the area over the time period. The systems and methods may further calculate a risk index for the area based upon a comparison between the number of expected collisions and the number of observed collisions. The systems and methods may further select a travel route for a vehicle based upon the risk index.

Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device can transmit traffic information to a server for analysis. The traffic information can include movement information including detected stops and durations of detected stops. The traffic information can be analyzed to detect traffic patterns that indicate locations of stop signs and/or stop lights. The traffic information can be analyzed to determine durations of stops at stop signs and/or stop lights. The durations of stops can be associated with a time of day and/or day of the week. In some implementations, navigational routes can be determined based stop sign and/or stop light information, including the delays attributable to detected stop signs and/or stop lights.

Abstract: An in-vehicle terminal sends a spoken voice as a voice signal to a relay server, and the relay server includes a voice recognition unit which converts the received voice signal into a string, and a control unit which searches for information stored in a main database or a temporary storage database by using the string and sends a search result to the in-vehicle terminal, and, upon searching for information stored in the main database, stores the search result in the temporary storage database. Upon receiving a voice signal, when the search result is stored in the temporary storage database, the control unit searches for information stored in the temporary storage database by using the string converted from the received voice signal, and, when the search result is not stored in the temporary storage database, the control unit searches for information stored in the main database by using the string.

Abstract: An approach, for tailoring voice navigation instruction output. A navigation audio tailor receives songs including instrumental segments and associated vocal segments. The navigation audio tailor identifies, instrumental only segments where the instrumental only segments mark time durations based on the instrumental segments being absent of the associated vocal segments. The navigation audio tailor receives, navigations instructions where the navigation instructions are based on text to create voice navigation instructions. The navigation audio tailor determines, navigation instruction output timing where the navigation instructions output timing is associated to one of the instrumental only segments to create tailored navigation instructions and the navigation audio tailor outputs the tailored navigation instructions to an audio playback device where the output combines at least one of the songs.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a rotational angle detecting device. An IC substrate has a flat surface extending along a rotational axis of a throttle valve. Yokes forms, together with the magnets, a closed magnetic circuit. A first Hall element outputs a first signal according to the magnetic flux density in a first direction along the flat surface. A second Hall element outputs a second signal according to the magnetic flux density in a second direction intersecting the flat surface. The first and second Hall elements are positioned within a region that is surrounded by the magnets and the yoke and that is between an edge surface and an edge surface.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a sensor arrangement for the contactless sensing of angles of rotation on a rotating part includes a disk-shaped target, a coil arrangement, and an evaluation and control unit. The disc-shaped target is coupled to the rotating part and includes at least two metal surfaces that influence the inductances in the flat detection coils due to eddy current effects as a function of the degree of overlap. The disc-shaped target can generate at least one piece of information for ascertaining the instantaneous angle of rotation of the rotating part, in connection with the coil arrangement. The coil arrangement has has three flat detection coils uniformly distributed on the circumference of a circle. The evaluation and control unit can generate essentially sinusoidal evaluation signals which represent the changes in inductance of the detection coils and can evaluate them for calculating the angle of rotation.
