Abstract: A kitchen appliance includes a first reservoir for receiving a liquid to be used for preparing a beverage and a hot water generator (‘HWG’) which has an inlet end, an outlet end and a passageway therebetween. The inlet end of the HWG is connected to the first reservoir. Liquid from the first reservoir flows into the HWG through the inlet end. A second reservoir is connected to the outlet end of the HWG. The second reservoir includes a discharge port. A fluid path connects the first and second reservoirs and bypasses the HWG. The kitchen appliance is operable for both pressurized brew/heat cycles and un-pressurized brew/heat cycles.

A cap engages the downward extension of the brew basket, with an opening defined through a bottom wall of the cap. A gasket is received in the cap, and a thickness of the gasket determines a position of the cap relative to the downward extension of the brew basket, and thus determines a flow rate of the brewed beverage from the outlet orifice through the opening defined through the bottom wall of the cap.

Abstract: Disclosed is a grid-like device for the support of the bottom exterior surface of a cooking vessel, the grid being removably placed atop the upper exterior surface of an outdoor cooking grill or smoker. Three identically-shaped and symmetrically bent metal rectangular bands are conjoined at their midpoints to form essentially a spherical grid shape. A series of symmetrical bends, arcs, and rounds are formed at specific intervals transverse to the length of each band such that the cumulative shape of the adjoined bands forms the grid. The bottom-most segment of the support grid comprises legs and feet of a semi-rigid elasticity such that the support device may be flexibly placed about the top of the grill or smoker. Spring tension coils connect the inner surfaces of the bands to stabilize the grid shape and to impart leveraged gripping force upon the feet of the grid.

Abstract: A roller grill cover having: an elongated body that extends over the length of the grill rollers and which includes a pair of arms for engaging the top of the sides of the roller grill to provide stability for the cover; a front flange is angled downwardly from the front end of the body to limit a consumer's view of the rollers (and their contents) underneath and behind the flange. The body may include a rear flange that extends upwardly to provide access to the rollers behind the front flange for product placement and removal. The front flange may include a mirror finish or other reflective materials to allow the food items on the front rollers to be reflected off of the flange to give the visual appearance that there are more food items then actually shown.

The elastic bag foam pump has the advantages of simple structure, low cost and easy to use.

Abstract: A wall-mountable hands-free back washer that allows users to wash and exfoliate their backs without using their hands. The back washer is mounted on a shower wall or bathtub wall by a support panel that attaches to a shower or bathtub wall. The support panel may be permanently for removably attached to the wall. Sponges are attached to the support panel. The sponges can be loofah sponges or any other suitable type of sponge or exfoliating device. The sponges are mounted on the support panel such that a user only has to lean back against the back washer and move up-and-down or side-to-side to clean the user's back.

The first cleaning solution is impregnated in a first wipe, and the second cleaning solution is impregnated in a second wipe. The wipes are sealed and provided to the user in a double chambered packet, having a first chamber and a second chamber that are isolated from each other. In use, after the packet is opened, the first wipe is used to wipe the cleaning surface, the cleaning surface is fully dried, and the second wipe is used to wipe the cleaning surface. The cleaning surface is left with an extraordinary shine that is long lasting and repels dirt, dust, and grime.

The handle can be utilized on a cleaning implement, such as a liquid dispensing mop.

The washing basket can comprise one or several indicating members, for enabling a more reliable detection. A method of operating such a dishwasher (100) comprises the steps of automatically detecting what type of washing basket (140) is placed in the dishwasher, and then controlling the water pressure and granule addition according to what washing basket was detected. A system comprises an above dishwasher and an above washing basket.

Abstract: A passive diverter is provided that does not require a dedicated motor to switch between multiple outlet ports. The diverter uses the forces provided by a flow of fluid from a pump to switch between different outlet ports and supply one or more spray assemblies or other fluid-using elements. A separate motor to power the diverter is not required, which allows a savings in costs and space. In addition, a secondary set of ramps may provide a manner in which to “zero” the angular position of the diverter, i.e., place the diverter in a known, home position. This can reduce the additional cost, weight, and complexity of including additional sensors to determine the angular position of the diverter.

Accordingly, air-tightness or liquid-tightness can be ensured even in use of a plurality of connectors couplable selectively for connecting a related apparatus.

Abstract: An endoscope realized as either a borescope or a fiberscope including one or more fluid filled lenses is described. In an embodiment, the optical power of the fluid filled lenses may be adjusted to adjust the focal length associated with the endoscope. Thus, variable working distances are allowable while maintaining focus on an object in front of the endoscope. The endoscope may include a distance sensor, which is used to determine a distance between the endoscope and a sample. A processor may compare the measured distance to the current optical power of the one or more sealed fluid filled lenses. The processor may transmit signals to one or more actuators coupled to one or more sealed fluid filed lenses to change the optical power of the one or more sealed fluid filled lenses based on the comparison.

Abstract: A laparoscope/endoscope warmer includes a rechargeable heater with an inexpensive, disposable casing so that the expensive portions of the system can be reused. An elongated heater has an outer wall, a closed end and an open end into a cavity having an inner wall. A heating element such as a heating coil is disposed between the inner and outer walls of the heater. A rechargeable battery within the heater powers the heating element. The heater fits into a charging base operative to recharge the rechargeable battery through cooperating electrical contacts or an inductive coupling. The sterile casing includes an inner sleeve that fits into the cavity of the heater unit, providing a receptacle to receive and warm the rod of an endoscope or laparoscope.

Abstract: A system for simultaneously heating multiple elongated surgical viewing instruments comprises a heater with a slot and an insert received by the slot. The insert has multiple elongate cavities, each configured to receive the tip of a viewing instrument. A cover, configured to cover the heater with the insert in the slot thereof, provides a plurality of openings aligned with the cavities of the insert. In the preferred embodiment, the heater is reusable and the insert and cover are disposable. The insert and cover may be integrally joined into a single unit. The system may further include a stand upon which the heater is supported, one or more cavities to receive cleaning swabs to be heated, and/or a pad to heat a cleaning wipe or other article.

At least one lamp and preferably a plurality of lamps at the distal end of the barrel illuminate the needle and the interior of a patient's mouth. A battery is included in the light for powering the lamps. The insertion of the syringe into the barrel may a pair of contacts to cause the battery to power the lamps, or the battery may be removed to remove power from the lamps. A disposable integrated syringe and light combination is also described.

Abstract: A method for capturing a tomographic image of an eye includes: obtaining a plurality of tomographic images of an examinee's eye by an optical scanning; obtaining a displacement distribution that is a distribution of a displacement for each A-scan among the plurality of tomographic images; and correcting a displacement among the tomographic images based on the displacement distribution.

Abstract: A device adapter is used to mount a handheld device, such as a smartphone, to the binocular tube of a microscope, such as a slit lamp. The handheld device has a camera, a device surface on one side, and a camera lens at the one side. The adapter includes a body with an abutment surface, two side grippers and a lower gripper used to secure the device against the abutment surface of the body. The device adapter also includes an adapter assembly including a camera lens opening alignable with a handheld device camera lens so that an image entering the outer end of the ocular tube with integrated optics passes through the ocular tube, through the integrated optic, and through the camera lens opening for passage into the camera lens.

Abstract: A method, a, controller, a non-transitory computer readable storage medium encoded with instructions; each of which control an apparatus to produce multiple images of an area of an eye in parallel. Selecting one of the images for estimating a change in position of the area to be used for tracking the area of the eye being imaged.
