Abstract: Techniques are provided that enable a wireless security system that is designed to detect and receive wireless transmissions in one protocol, to use sensor-transmitters that operate in a different protocol. The techniques involve, generally, the use of an integration device, and in some implementations, first enrolling sensor-transmitters of a first protocol into the integration device, along with device type information for the sensor-transmitters. Thereafter, during system operation, transmissions with message packets in the first message packet protocol are received by the integration device, recognized as having been previously enrolled, and a message packet in a second message packet protocol that includes device type information is then formulated and transmitted by the integration device, for receipt by a system control device for the wireless security system.

Abstract: An interface device for provisioning Internet Protocol (IP) communications to be established for base station equipment that employ proprietary device specific protocols. A fixed station interface (FSI) translates between a V.24 High-Level-Data-Link Control (HDLC) protocols used for external data connections on base station equipment to a Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VOIP) open-standard protocol. Upon being deployed in First Responder communications networks (that use legacy base station equipment), the FSI provisions for the retention of existing installed base station equipment while providing a low cost solution to support VOIP communications interconnectivity and reliability, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and safety of the First Responder systems.

Abstract: A first protocol stack for communication on a first physical line is implemented. At least parts of a second protocol stack for communication on a second physical line are implemented. The first protocol stack and the second protocol stack are bonded at the Physical Medium Dependent layer of the first protocol stack and the Physical Medium Dependent layer of the second protocol stack (172). In some scenarios, the bonding may be at an upper edge of the Physical Medium Dependent layer, i.e., at the ? interface.

Abstract: A method for indicating a frame structure in a wireless local area network (WLAN) is provided. A sending device generates a transmission frame. The transmission frame includes a physical header. The physical header includes a frame structure indication field. A subcarrier polarity of the frame structure indication field is used to indicate the frame structure of the transmission frame. The sending device sends the transmission frame to a receiving device. In the transmission frame, a first subcarrier polarity indicates the transmission frame has a first frame structure, and a second subcarrier polarity indicates the transmission frame has a second frame structure, so that the receiving device determines the frame structure of the transmission frame according to the subcarrier polarity of the frame structure indication field.

An accessory protocol that is generic to the mobile computing device can be used for some communication. An application executing at the mobile computing device can communicate with the accessory using an application communication protocol. In some embodiments, the application communication protocol can be different from the accessory communication protocol. In other embodiments the application protocol may only be recognized by the application and the accessory. In some embodiments, messages conforming to an application protocol can be communicated between the application and the accessory by packaging the messages inside a message conforming to the accessory communication protocol.

Abstract: Disclosed is a telephone headset that features an antiphase/anti-noise speaker within an anechoic chamber so that noises provided therein can be combatted with antiphase noises. In some embodiment, the antiphase/anti-noise speaker can be an exciter. In some embodiments, the headset is designed to include passive and active noise cancelation of a use's voice. Suitably, the headset can be adjusted to fit an inclusive range of head dimensions comfortably, the headsets may connect wirelessly to the user's phone to ensure cable free operation and communication. Airplane use is also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus for assessing a mobile device comprises a housing with a faraday cage. The faraday cage may include a chamber having an ingress mechanism allowing a user to position the mobile device within the chamber, a wireless transceiver coupled to one or more antennas, and one or more imaging devices. The apparatus may also include one or more processors communicatively coupled to the wireless transceiver and the imaging device(s). When the mobile device is positioned within the chamber, the processor(s) may use the wireless transceiver to establish a wireless communication link with the mobile device, and use the imaging device(s) to capture one or more images of the mobile device. Alone or in conjunction with a remote server, the apparatus may use information obtained from the mobile device, and/or one or more images of the mobile device, to assess the mobile device for various purposes.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a system for managing and adding contacts. A first mobile device can display an image that can be recorded by a second mobile device. Similarly, the first mobile device can record an image displayed by the second mobile device. The image data from each mobile device can be transmitted to a cloud based contact management system, which can match the images to contact information associated with each mobile device. The contact management system can then push the contact details of each mobile device to the other mobile device, and/or link social media accounts associated with each mobile device. The contact management system can also store connection records that represent an ongoing authorization to push contact information changes from each user to the other, respectively.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for monitoring communications between inmates at controlled facilities. In an embodiment request is first received to initiate a call involving an inmate at a controlled facility. The identity of the inmate may then be authenticated, and the call may be connected to an outside third party upon successful authentication. A tone encoded with source information of the call may be generated and intermittently transmitted while the call is active. The inmate's received call data may then be monitored to detect a second tone. Source information encoded within the second tone may be extracted and compared with call data stored in a call database to determine whether the extracted source information corresponds to a second inmate at a controlled facility. Finally, an alert may be sent to relevant parties when it is determined that the extracted source information corresponds to the second inmate.

Abstract: A method for accessing offline voicemail messages within a mobile messaging application may be provided. First, a voice mail message may be received and the voicemail message may be transcribed to text. Next, the voicemail message and the text transcription may be stored. The recipient may then be presented with a list of voicemail messages and the voicemail message may be retrieved in response to the recipient. The recipient may read or listen to the voicemail message or both. The recipient may also annotate the voicemail message.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for discreetly broadcasting emergency communications to emergency contacts from a mobile computing device. To accomplish the foregoing, a shutdown command is received on a mobile computing device to initiate a shutdown process. In accordance with the shutdown process, the mobile computing device monitors for a preconfigured passcode, picture, or combination of inputs to authorize the actual shutdown of the mobile computing device. Based on determining that the received passcode, picture, or combination of inputs is different than their preconfigured counterparts, a pseudo-shutdown mode is enabled, emulating an actual shutdown of the mobile computing device. The emergency broadcast mode of the mobile computing device is also started when the pseudo-shutdown mode enabled, to discreetly alert emergency contacts with emergency mode data generated by the mobile computing device.

Abstract: A community safety system (CSS) including a notification management entity (NME) comprising servers, the NME communicatively coupled to multiple user devices and one or more administrator devices (collectively, registered user devices). The CSS includes a plurality of registered users, wherein each registered user is associated with an organization, and a user category of a set of user categories. The NME may maintain a list of the registered users and associated information. The registered users may have user devices including a CSS application operating thereon. In some embodiments the CSS enables inter-organizational communication, allowing for members of a first organization to provide alerts that the NME can pass to a second organization when the registered user is physically located within a security zone associated with a second organization but not a member of the second organization.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for providing geolocation services in a mobile-based crowdsourcing platform. The system includes a plurality of remote mobile devices configured to communicate and exchange data with a geolocation service based on the crowdsourcing, or polling, of users of such mobile devices to determine location and movement of the users within a specific environment. For example, in an outdoor environment such as a parking lot, the system can track the location of a user's vehicle within the lot and provide the user with an exact position of their vehicle upon the user returning to the parking lot. In the instance of an indoor environment, such as an airport, the system provides a messaging/location alert service for persons within the airport, where any given person's location within the airport can be determined and correlated with an impending departure of a flight for which they are associated.

Abstract: Agencies issue multiple devices to personnel for maintaining distinct identities over the course of assigned investigations. To provide flexible capabilities to agencies, a phone is converted for use with multiple attached telephone numbers. Accordingly, a single phone may be used to manage multiple identities over the course of one or more investigations. Using a multiple attached number, a given device can place and receive calls over the network to and from contacts. In addition to providing multiple attached numbers, calls using the multiple attached numbers may be monitored live and recorded to establish evidence.

Abstract: A system for automatic authentication of service requests includes authentication of a remote access device. This authentication may be accomplished automatically prior to text or audio communication between a customer and a service agent. In some embodiments, authentication is accomplished automatically by authentication of the remote access device or accomplished by asking the customer questions. A single authentication of the remote access device may be used to authenticate a service request transferred between service agents. The authentication of the remote device may include, for example, use of a personal identification number, a fingerprint, a photograph, and/or a hardware identifier. Some embodiments include an intelligent pipeline configured for managing queues of customer service requests and/or customer service agent control over a customer's access device. Some embodiments include logic configured to manage and enhance communication channels between devices.

The first request may be based on the IVR device having received a call from a user device. The device may send, to the IVR device, the code to enable the IVR device to configure a call tree based on the code. The device may receive, from the IVR device, a second request for an experience. The experience may be based on the code. The device may send, to the user device, a message to cause the user device to provide the experience.

Abstract: An agent queuing system implemented without relying on a private branch exchange. The queuing system can be cloud-based and routes calls to agents, for example, through a first-in/first-out (FIFO) queue. Clients are assigned a unique number that identify one or more queues. When a call is received, a database maintains the unique number that was called and the associated company information is retrieved, along with any queues allocated for their company. A call is placed to the next available agent from the selected queue. A recording is played to the agent identifying the queue the call is arriving from and the agent is prompted to accept the call. If the call is accepted, the agent is taken out of the available agent pool for the duration of the call. The call can be routed without exposing the phone numbers of the caller or agent involved in the call.

A speech policy applied to the speech data specifies dropping the second speech when it interrupts the first speech within a first interval of the first speech data. If the registered owner of the telephone or fax number has a corresponding email address, then the invention converts the telephone or fax number to the email address for delivery and uses standard email delivery systems to deliver the message. If no conventional delivery email address is known, or if the message sender or recipient specify multiple delivery modes, then the email message content is transformed into voice, pager and/or fax content and delivered to the recipient using the telephone or fax number which was specified as the email address.

The information is uploaded and stored in an encrypted format accessible to authorized and verified users. At least one characteristic of the specimen sample is determined based on the information. Tracking and status information, as well as notifications or reminders, regarding the specimen sample are provided in real-time or near real-time to the mobile device.

Abstract: An image sensor unit (1A) includes: a light condenser (40) that condenses light including image information of an illuminated object; an image sensor (48) that receives the light passed through the light condenser (40) and that converts the light to an electrical signal; and a frame (10A) that houses the light condenser (40) and the image sensor (48), wherein the image sensor unit (1A) includes an urging member (50A) that urges and fixes the light condenser (40) to the frame (45), and the urging member (50A) urges and fixes the light condenser (40) to the frame (10A) from a light entering side or a light emission side of the light.
