Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a novel membrane-less water electrolysis method for obviously increasing electrolysis efficiency. The method focuses on enabling more impurities in water to be electrolyzed to produce many electrons and conductive ions, and creating good conditions to increase water electrolysis efficiency. A spacing of a gap reserved between a positive electrode and a negative electrode is designed according to a reasonable minimization principle, and the gap is less than 5 mm and more than 0 mm, thereby benefiting enhancement of electrolysis between the impurities and the water molecules in the water; and in a water electrolysis process, the water can smoothly flow in the gap between the positive and the negative electrodes, and a probability and quantities of the impurities and the water molecules electrolyzed by the positive and the negative electrodes are increased, thereby increasing the electrolysis efficiency of the water.

Abstract: A method and system for measuring and treating fluid streams having particles therein is disclosed. A sample of the fluid stream is obtained and processed to remove large particles, to obtain an aliquot of the fluid stream with some particles therein. A parameter in the aliquot is measured that relates to quantity and/or charge of the particles. The aliquot was found to be representative of the whole fluid stream, so when the parameter deviates from a desired value, this indicates that particles in the fluid stream require treatment. The method and system can further include treating the particles in the fluid stream until the measured parameter in the aliquot returns to the desired value.

Abstract: A mobile device for biological treatment of bioreactor-type wastewater with a submerged membrane enabling treatment of greywater and blackwater has an inlet duct for effluent to be treated and an outlet duct for treated and filtered water connected to a permeate pump. The device includes a container, the interior volume of which has a parallelepiped appearance with two large vertical lateral sides, and a membrane filter having an assembly of parallel, planar filtration membranes also with a vertical appearance. The membranes are connected to a downstream collector collecting the filtered water and connected to the outlet duct. The permeate pump ensures a transmembrane flow less than the subcritical flow. At least one diffuser of fine air bubbles is located at the base of each column. Each diffuser is connected to a regulating solenoid valve and to pump, ensuring therein an airflow greater than or equal to 10 Nm3/h per diffuser.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for in situ ground water remediation. The compositions comprise a colloidal biomatrix comprised of sorbent particles, such as zeolites, organoclays and activated carbon, dispersed in aqueous solution that are injectable into the permeable zones of an aquifer to be treated. Once deposited into the permeable zones of the aquifer, the groundwater concentrations of contaminants in those zones are depleted, thus increasing the rate of diffusion of contaminants of the less permeable zones. The compositions and methods of the present invention can be used to treat any organic contaminants and provide rapid remediation of contaminated ground water by adsorption and biodegradation of such contaminants.

Abstract: Systems and processes for purifying and concentrating a liquid feed stream are disclosed. In the systems, the concentrated liquid output from the high pressure side of a reverse osmosis stage is used as the draw solution in the low pressure side of the reverse osmosis stage in a configuration called osmotically assisted reverse osmosis. This reduces the osmotic pressure differential across the membrane, permitting high solute concentrations to be obtained, hastening the purification of the liquid. Reduced system pressures are also obtained by arranging multiple osmotically assisted reverse osmosis stages in a cross-current arrangement. Overall system energy consumption is reduced compared to conventional thermal processes for high concentration streams.
