Abstract: There is provided an orthotic configured for muscle imbalance correction. The orthotic has a strapping configured for physically activating an undercompensating muscle group by physically pulling substantially in-line with muscle fibres of the undercompensating muscle group to assist muscle activation and physically deactivating an overcompensating muscle group by physically pulling and therefore compressing across muscle fibres of the overcompensating muscle group to provide muscle resistance. Examples of the undercompensating muscle group are at least one of the gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus, vastus medialis and vastus medialis oblique. Examples of the overcompensating muscle group are at least one of the tensor fascia latae and iliopsoas.

Abstract: A moldable wrist brace. The brace includes a pocket with a moldable insert disposed therein. The pocket and insert extend substantially the full length of the brace to maximize the length of the user's wrist supported thereby. A plurality of straps and buckles are provided for retaining the brace on the user's wrist and providing a desired compression thereon. The straps include locking tabs that once inserted through the buckles resist withdrawal of the straps therefrom. One-handed donning of the brace is thus simplified by retention of the straps in engagement with the buckles.

Abstract: A powered device augments a joint function of a human during a gait cycle using a powered actuator that supplies an augmentation torque, an impedance, or both to a joint. A controller estimates terrain slope and modulates the augmentation torque and the impedance according to a phase of the gait cycle and the estimated terrain slope to provide at least a biomimetic response. The controller may also modulate a joint equilibrium. Accordingly, the device is capable of normalizing or augmenting human biomechanical function, responsive to a wearer's activity, regardless of speed and terrain, and can be used, for example, as a knee orthosis, prosthesis, or exoskeleton.

Abstract: A multifunctional vest for posture correcting, pain relieving and workout boosting comprises a vest-like garment wearing by an individual on the torso, the garment having shoulder and waist bands that join the anterior portion with posterior portion for securing and adjusting the fit of the garment to the wearer. The upper anterior section is made of elastic materials that allow for both female and male individuals to wear. The multifunctional vest also comprises removable parts that can be used for multiple purposes. Support stays and scapular straps are provided in the posterior portion for improving body posture. A therapeutic magnet belt that can be attached to both anterior and posterior portion is provided for purpose of relieving pain. For boosting workout purpose, a workout boosting sheet is provided in attaching to necessary place while doing exercise or daily activities.

Abstract: Ectoparasite treatment devices utilizing heated air and related treatment methods. In some embodiments, the device may comprise a heating assembly positioned within a housing that is configured to generate heated air and a blower, such as a fan, for moving the heated air. The device may further comprise an air diffuser configured to receive heated air from the blower and to mix the heated air to increase uniformity of temperature of the heated air. A tip comprising a plurality of tines with ports may be removably coupled with the housing. The tip may be fluidly coupled with the diffuser. A temperature sensor and temperature control electronics may be configured to use temperature data and adjust the heating assembly such that the heated air delivered through the tip is maintained between a minimum temperature of about 54 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of about 62 degrees Celsius.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a mouth piece for cooling of oral tissue of a patient during chemotherapy treatment. The mouth piece includes a cooling medium contained within the top element and the bottom element and able to retain a cooling environment within the mouth sufficient to reduce capillary blood flow to the patient's mouth. In one embodiment, an external chamber extends from the front of the mouth piece to house a cooling medium. The external chamber can be configured so that it is removably attached to the mouth piece. A support device can be utilized to support the external chamber during use.

Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for removing debris from an eye. The methods and devices may be used to treat ocular disorders such as blepharitis, meibomitis, and dry eye. The devices include a scrubbing strip coupled to a support. The support may include a sleeve configured to fit over the end of a finger or the distal end portion of a mechanical device. The scrubbing strip is utilized to contact debris located on an eyelid margin to remove debris from the eye.

The lens has a first end and a second end, the first end has an opening, and the second end has an elongated hole and a notch; the first buckle has a fixed element detachably received in the opening of the first end, and the fixed element has a head portion and a neck portion; the second buckle has an upper buckled portion and a lower buckled portion, the upper buckled portion and the lower buckled portion are detachably received in the elongated hole and the notch respectively. Therefore, the lens is not only easy to be buckled to the first buckle and the second buckle, but also easy to be detached for changing the lens.

Abstract: A protective eye cover system comprising a nonporous dome-shaped lens shaped to fit over a human eye cavity and encircle an associated eye. The system also comprises a flexible base ring coupled to the lens, the base ring exhibiting sufficient flexibility to permit close adherence to the eye cavity. An adhesive attached to the base ring promotes a seal of the coupled base ring and lens to surface skin of the eye cavity. The sealing of the coupled base ring and lens to surface skin of the eye cavity prevents liquids from contacting the eye and surrounding area and further protect eyelash extensions from at least one of liquids, steam and heat. The lens is configured with a depth such that an inner surface of the lens does not contact eyelashes and eyelash extensions of a wearer. An anti-fogging agent prevents obstruction of wearer view.

The foam pad is placed in fluid communication with a vacuum source for promotion of the controlled acceleration or retardation of the body's inflammatory response. The heating, and cooling provision controls the local metabolic function as part of the inflammatory response.

Each of the compression zones includes a superior portion extending in a generally superior-inferior direction and an inferior portion contiguous with the superior portion and comprising a portion extending in a direction generally crosswise to the generally superior-inferior direction of the superior portion. Abstract: A moisture-sensitive device is provided that includes a fluid-sensitive battery. Exposure of the battery to urine or some other fluid causes the battery to provide a voltage that can be used to power a transmitter. The transmitter can then provide a wireless transmission indicative of the battery having been exposed to the fluid. This moisture-sensitive device can be provided in a diaper and transmissions produced by the device can be detected using a smart phone or other device and used to indicate to a user that the diaper has been soiled. By powering the transmitter using the fluid-sensitive battery and storing the battery in a dry state, such a device can be stored for a protracted period of time before use.

The system also allows for tilting of the spreader bars by coiling or uncoiling a leading motor unit strap. Once a threshold tilt for height difference is reached, further user requests for additional tilting are prohibited. Patient comfort and safety are therefore ensured.
