Abstract: A material handling system includes a very high speed linear sortation conveyor that receives articles at an operating speed of 650 to 700 feet per second (fps) and up to 100 fps with gapping as small as one inch. In one or more embodiments, a recirculation sortation conveyor receives articles that are not diverted by the linear sortation conveyor with dynamic capacity sufficient to handle a high speed shutdown of the linear sortation conveyor. The recirculation sortation conveyor is itself a very high speed linear sortation conveyor having a pusher pre-sort feature that can distribute received articles at different lateral positions on an endless conveyor to align with more than one recirculation sortation conveyors that may be operating at a slower operating speed. In an exemplary embodiment, the recirculation sortation conveyor has a divert section for diverting articles to a divert target on a lateral side.

Abstract: Methods and systems for transferring feed materials between zones having substantially different pressures, where the transfer can be continuous or semi-continuous. The methods and systems include a plurality of lock hoppers to receive feed material from a low pressure zone and pressurize it with fluid to a pressure of a high pressure zone. The pressurized material can be discharged to a circulation loop, which carries the pressurized material to one or more receiving unit(s) of a pressurized system. At least some feed material remains in the receiving unit(s) and at least a portion of the fluid exits to become part of the circulation loop. After discharge, the lock hoppers can be depressurized so the next pressurization cycle can begin with additional feed material. The lock hoppers can be operated in a time-staggered manner to provide continuous or semi-continuous transfer of material.

Abstract: Monolithic integration of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors with complementary oxide semiconductor (CMOS) electronics for pressure sensors is a very challenging task. This is primarily due to the requirement for a very high quality thin diaphragm to provide the pressure dependent MEMS deformation that can be sensed and, when seeking absolute rather than relative pressure sensors, a sealed reference cavity. Accordingly, a new manufacturing process is established based upon back-etching and bonding of a monolithic absolute silicon carbide (SiC) capacitive pressure sensor. Beneficially, the process embeds the critical features of the MEMS within a shallow trench formed within the silicon substrate and then processing the CMOS circuit. The process further benefits as it maintains that those elements of the MEMS element fabrication process that are CMOS compatible are implemented concurrently with those CMOS steps as well as the metallization steps.

Abstract: A semiconductor arrangement and method of formation are provided. The semiconductor arrangement includes a MEMS device in a MEMS area, where a first metal layer is connected to a first metal connect adjacent the MEMS area and a cap is over the MEMS area to vacuum seal the MEMS area. A first wafer portion is over and bonded to the first metal layer which connects the first metal connect to a first I/O port using metal routing. The first metal layer and the first wafer portion bond requires 10% less bonding area than a bond not including the first metal layer. The semiconductor arrangement including the first metal layer has increased conductivity and requires less processing than an arrangement that requires a dopant implant to connect a first metal connect to a first I/O port and has a better vacuum seal due to a reduction in outgassing.
