Abstract: A uniquely designed rectangular vessel has been developed for storing and aging liquids—commonly wine and spirits. Its economical and simplistic design offers significant benefits over the use of traditional barrels and other previously proposed arts. Constructed from wood (generally oak), its inner surfaces have been modified to maximize end grain exposure thus significantly reducing the required aging period. In addition, this vessel's inner surface area to volume ratio (directly related to the wood's extraction concentration within the liquid) can be adjusted to meet the user's specific needs.

Abstract: The disclosure in some aspects relates to recombinant adeno-associated viruses having nuclease grafted to one or more capsid proteins. In some aspects, the disclosure relates to isolated AAV capsid proteins having terminally grafted nucleases and isolated nucleic acids encoding the same. Recent approaches to delivering nucleases to cells for gene editing have focused on delivering of expression vectors engineered to express the nucleases in target cells. However, these approaches have proved to be problematic in many instances due to genotoxicity resulting from to prolonged expression of gene editing system in vivo. To prevent such off-target genotoxicity due to prolonged presence of a gene editing system, several studies explored delivery of mRNA or protein instead of delivering the gene coding for the nucleases in cell culture.

The present invention employs low molecular weight cationic lipids comprising at least one short lipid chain to enhance the efficiency and tolerability of in vivo delivery of siRNA.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a recombinant microorganism having a lactam production capacity from an omega-amino acid, into which a gene encoding a beta-alanine coenzyme A transferase on a microorganism which has an omega-amino acid biosynthetic metabolic pathway inherently or an omega-amino acid biosynthetic metabolic pathway is introduced, and a method for producing a variety of lactams and omega-amino acyl-CoAs using the same. The recombinant microorganism and the method for producing the lactam according to the present disclosure are useful in producing a variety of lactams such as propiolactam, 2-pyrrolidone, valerolactam, caprolactam, and heptanolactam from a variety of omega-amino acids.
