Publication number: 20180105666Abstract: A macroporous polymeric hydrogel microsphere that contains poly(ethylene glycol), chitosan, and water. The hydrogel microsphere, having a diameter of 50-250 gm and a mesh size of 5-100 nm, is capable of transporting biomolecules conjugated to it. Also disclosed is a method of fabricating the microsphere based on a micromolding technique utilizing surface tension-induced droplet formation followed by photo-induced polymerization.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2016Publication date: April 19, 2018Inventors: Hyunmin Yi, Sukwon Jung

Publication number: 20180105669Abstract: Carbon-black-encapsulated polyamide microparticles are obtained by bringing a poor solvent of polyamide into contact with an emulsion to cause carbon-black-encapsulated polyamide to be precipitated, the emulsion being formed in a system that has separated into two solution phases when carbon black is mixed with a polymer solution prepared by dissolving a polyamide, a polymer (B) different from the polyamide, and an organic solvent (C), the polymer (B) being the main component in one of the phases, and, in the other of the phases, the polyamide being the main component and the carbon black being selectively distributed; wherein it is possible to obtain black polyamide microparticles having a number-average particle size of 1-200 ?m and a temperature difference between the melting temperature and the cooling crystallization temperature of 25° C. or more, the microparticles being suitable for use in powder bed fusion additive manufacturing.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2015Publication date: April 19, 2018Inventors: Takahiko Otsubo, Hisashi Miyama, Hiroshi Takezaki
