Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method for preparing a polyether polyol in a continuous reaction cycle. In the method, a low molecular-weight alcohol is polymerized with an alkylene oxide to obtain a low molecular-weight polymer. The low molecular-weight polymer is used as an initiator to react with the alkylene oxide and the low molecular-weight alcohol in the presence of a DMC catalyst and an acid promoter to obtain an intermediate-target polymer. A portion of the intermediate-target polymer is used for producing the target polymer, and the other portion is recycled for reproduction of the intermediate-target polymer. In the present disclosure, no initiator prepared with a base catalyst is used, and thus the loss of material and the discharge of residue and waste water are reduced. The DMC concentration is kept constant in the target polymer during the production such that the dewatering time and induction time are greatly reduced.

Abstract: To provide: a method of manufacturing granular polyarylene sulfide (PAS) with improved particle strength while improving the yield of the granular PAS by introducing and recovering PAS with a moderate molecular weight in granular PAS; and granular PAS. A method of manufacturing granular PAS according to the present invention includes: a polymerizing step of subjecting a dihalo aromatic compound and at least one type of sulfur source selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfides and alkali metal hydrosulfides to polymerization reaction in an organic amide solvent; and a cooling step of cooling the reaction product mixture after the polymerizing step. Addition of a phase separation agent to the reaction product mixture is started at a point in time from the start of the polymerizing step to before the start of forming granular PAS in the cooling step, and when the temperature of the reaction product mixture is 245° C.

Abstract: The use of an amidine of formula (I) and/or a conversion product thereof as a catalyst for the crosslinking of a composition based on silane group-containing polymers. The amidine of formula (I) and the conversion products thereof are essentially odourless at room temperature and non-volatile and accelerate the crosslinking of the composition very well without impairing the storage stability of the composition, and are very compatible in the composition. As a result, the compositions do not have a tendency to separate, migrate or evaporate the catalyst.

Abstract: A trifluoroacetic acid-based etchant is described that can remove a sacrificial component of a multi-component polymer, e.g., a self-assembled block copolymer. The etchant can operate at a high etch rate and with excellent selectivity. The etchant can remove a hydrolysable sacrificial component such as a polylactide block from a self-assembled block copolymer. The etchant enables the macroscopic preservation of the nanostructure morphologies of self-assembled copolymers (e.g., poly(styrene-block-lactide) copolymers) and can yield pristine porous films of the non-hydrolysable component of the starting multi-component polymer.
