Abstract: An interlocking construction block system comprising a family of blocks that interlock along three axes, including a left/right axis, a front/back axis, and an up/down axis. The family of blocks are self-aligning and do not require skilled labor or mortar to create a structure of any length, width, height, or shape. Each block comprises a specific geometry that allows all blocks in the family to interlock in a woven pattern that not only locks the blocks in place but also allows even distribution of structural weights and stresses. The disclosed blocks can be manufactured in different sizes to conform to any building code requirement and to create wall lengths to a one-inch measurement. The blocks may comprise channel openings to allow for plumbing, electrical, and structural reinforcements in the structure and may each be reinforced with an internal mesh cage.

Abstract: A construction assembly includes two frame members. A segment of one frame member contacts a surface of a contour of a first column. A segment of the other frame member contacts a surface of a contour of a second column. The surface of the contour of the second column aligns with the surface of the contour of the first column. A connector beam has a planar surface substantially perpendicular to a base surface from which the first and second columns extend. A first end portion of the connector beam couples to one frame member, and a second end portion of the connector beam couples to the other frame member. When coupled to the frame members, the connector beam substantially aligns with, and extends laterally between, the frame members. The connector beam receives blocks such that the planar surface is at a direct abutment with a planar surface of each block.

Abstract: Described embodiments include a method, including arranging one or more frames (22) and one or more boards (24), such that the frames, together with the boards, enclose a space (26). The method further includes pouring first concrete (28) into the space, and, after the first concrete solidifies, within the space, into a structure (42), removing the boards from the structure. The method further includes pouring second concrete (70) over the frames, such that the second concrete solidifies, over the frames, into respective walls that are adjacent to the structure. Abstract: Construction systems and methods of the invention provide building constructions systems which may be assembled, such as for example, by stacking and interconnecting standardized modular blocks between standardized modular posts. The modular posts may be comprised of a sleeve of WPC or other composite material surrounding a reinforced concrete core. The blocks, posts and other components in accordance with the principles of the invention may have a variety of geometries and features. These components may together form the basis of a modular, standardized method and system of constructing dwellings or other buildings.

Abstract: An illustrative embodiment of a tile and support structure may include a plurality of tiles, which may be generally rectangular in shape, engaged with one or more support structures. The tile may be formed with four edges, wherein two opposing edges may be formed with grooves therein and the other two opposing edges may be formed with protrusions thereon. The support structure may be formed with a generally vertical spine having two rails extending outward from a distal end thereof. The support structure may also include two generally horizontally extending flanges, which may be formed with a trough therein. The trough may include a plurality of apertures formed therein. One side of the trough may be defined by a lip.

Abstract: An outdoor wood decking board for use in construction of an outdoor deck floor, the outdoor decking board including a wood core formed from a first wood species of common grade wood species as a three-dimensional solid rigid body. A facing wood veneer formed from a second wood species of superior grade wood species as a three-dimensional solid rigid wood finishing layer permanently seamlessly attached via an adhesive to a first wood face of the wood core thereby the wood core having an appearance of the second wood species. In another embodiment, the facing wood veneer is formed from a third wood species, exotic hardwood species. A two-part emulsion polymer isocyanate adhesive is used to bond the wood core against the facing wood veneer; to bond two wood cores together. In another embodiment, the adhesive is a two-part polyurethane emulsion polymer.

Abstract: A laminated building sheathing comprises a rigid foam board and a facer. The rigid foam board comprises a drainage pattern formed on a major surface of the foam board. The drainage pattern comprises a drainage channel. The facer is configured to cover the major surface of the rigid form board and to essentially conform to the drainage pattern. The facer is semi-permanently bonded to the drainage channel but permanently bonded to non-channel planar portions of the major surface.

Abstract: A seismic axial dampener device is constructed of a multitude of composite or metallic conical compression discs and an exo-structure capable of dampening both tension and compression cycles of a building structure due to a seismic, explosion, or wind event. The dampener reacts and dampens the loading in both tension and compression along the axis of the cross brace in linear-elastic bending, creating internal hoop stress, and not through shear of the dampener device.

Abstract: A reinforcing stud for a stud rail includes an elongated stud body defining a first diameter. A first load transfer head is disposed at one longitudinal end of the elongated stud body. A second load transfer head is disposed at the other longitudinal end of the elongated stud body. The second load transfer head includes spaced apart mounting flanges on an end surface thereof. The mounting flanges define a channel for receiving a rail. At least one of the mounting flanges has a threaded opening through a wall thereof for receiving a set screw.

Abstract: A rebar positioning device with opposite ends for positioning adjacent to a form face of at least one form panel may include a support rod having opposite ends and an outer surface, with at least a portion of the outer surface being threaded. At least one bar clip may be movably mounted on the support rod. An orientation of the at least one bar clip on the support rod is adjustable, and a position of the at least one bar clip on the support rod is adjustable.

Abstract: A snow-melting roof tile according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a metal roof tile including a main cover part, a first bending part bent vertically and located at a first edge in a first direction of the main cover part and, and a second bending part bent vertically and located at a second edge in the first direction, opposite to the first edge of the main cover part; a heat generation part located an upper portion or lower portion of the metal roof tile; and a fixing part for fixing the heat generation part to the metal roof tile, wherein the heat generation part can generate heat to heat the metal roof tile, thereby melting snow on the metal roof tile.

Abstract: A gutter protection assembly includes a gutter and a gutter protection. The gutter includes a front wall, a bottom wall and a rear wall, the rear wall having a crimp protruding outwardly from an outer face of the rear wall of the gutter. The gutter protection device includes a front portion engageable with the front wall of the gutter, and a rear portion. The rear portion includes a gutter wall-engaging section having an outer downward segment provided with a hook. The hook is configured to engage with the crimp to provide a support for the gutter to hang from. The gutter assembly is securable to a supporting structure through an outwardly extending section projecting upwardly from the gutter wall-engaging section and extending above the rear wall of the gutter when in the gutter protection assembly, with the gutter hanging from the gutter protection device.

In another embodiment the facing wood veneer is formed of a third wood species including an exotic hardwood species. In another embodiment the wood core is formed from a wood plastic composite. In another embodiment, the wood core is formed from a cement board. Methods of manufacture of the outdoor wood decking board are embodied and disclosed.

Abstract: A multilayer insulating panel is for the installation of an electric heating system having electric heating wires in a subfloor or in a wall of a building. The panel includes a main insulating layer including a first surface and a second opposite surface. A sheet made of polymeric material is operatively associated with one of the first or second surfaces. The sheet has a first face and a second opposite face and includes reliefs equally spaced apart on the first face to fix the electric heating wires on the first face in a reversible manner. A connection layer is fixed to the second face of the sheet. The connection layer is interposed between the second face of the sheet and one of the first surface or the second surface of the main layer following the association of the main insulating layer with the polymeric sheet.

Abstract: Floor underlayments, floor underlayment systems and related methods are provided herein. A floor underlayment sheet can include a middle body portion having first outer face and a second outer face with the middle body portion having a thickness. The floor underlayment sheet can also include a first end portion extending outward from the middle body portion from a first side of the middle body portion. The first end portion can have an outer face that aligns with and is contiguous with the first outer face of the middle body portion and an inner face that is opposite the first end portion outer face. The floor underlayment sheet can further include a second and portion extending outward from the middle body portion from a second side of the middle body portion. The second end portion can have an outer face that aligns with and is contiguous with the second outer face of the middle body portion and an inner face that is opposite the second end portion outer face.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a floor underlayment that may be positioned directly in contact with the underside surface of a finished floor and comprise more than one layer such as a first layer pattern-unbonded nonwoven web and a second layer microporous film. Additional layers may comprise a meltblown nonwoven layer and a spunbond layer. The floor underlayment of the present invention may exhibit a sound pressure level (SPL in dB at 800 Hz or 1600 Hz) reduction IIC of about 30 to about 40.

Abstract: A jointless surface covering can be applied to building parts by a method and a device (2). A flow of a surface covering material (37, 92) and of an adhesive (94, 95) is sprayed onto an underlying plane which is situated on the building part. The surface covering material forms an insulation for the building part. Granules (92) are used for the surface covering material. The granules are misted with adhesive (94) and, carried by air, they reach an area to be covered, wherein the granules immediately adhere as a result of the adhesive, which undergoes a chain reaction. By virtue of the device (2), granules are supplied from a granules reservoir (8) and adhesive is supplied from an adhesive reservoir (46) and brought together in an air space via a nozzle assembly (60) in order to form the surface covering. A combing device (16) serves for separating granular particles (92), which pass into a flow channel (28) via a chute (24).

Abstract: A universal magazine mounts to a hand-operated power tool that will automatically feed a hidden deck board clip to the tool head from a strip of such clips and position the clips one at a time under the power tool's driving mechanism. The strip includes multiple hidden clips separated by a frangible section or tab located between adjacent clips. Each hidden clip can be formed of a plastic material and include a locating tab defined on each side of the clip's body and fastener aperture defined in a center of the body. Further, strips can be adapted for manual use and manipulation rather than for use with a power tool.

Abstract: A catwalk system having a pair of side trusses formed of a top chord and bottom chord connected by a plurality of vertical posts and diagonal posts. The bottom chords have a plurality of joints formed of a bottom plate, opposing side plates and wing plates that form a pocket. These pockets receive an end of floorbeams which are bolted to the side plates. The bottom plate also includes a wind brace section that receives an end of a diagonal wind brace therein. The fabricated side trusses are shipped to the job site where the catwalk is quickly and easily assembled by aligning a pair of side trusses in parallel space alignment and installing floorbeams in the pockets of opposing joints. To provide additional rigidity diagonal wind braces are installed in a zig-zag formation between diagonally opposite joints. This arrangement provides a quickly assembled catwalk that requires minimal assembly.

Abstract: A universal swimming pool light adapter ring consisting of a two-element interlocking adapter ring for retrofitting a swimming pool light into a swimming pool niche. The adapter ring has a two element face ring that interlocks and fastens around a swimming pool light cord, so that an existing swimming pool light does not need to be substantially removed or disassembled to facilitate installation. Further the adapter ring consists of an adjacent two-element mounting ring that utilizes a plurality of mounting screws to each respective element, which creates pressure points that secure the adapter firmly into the light niche to allow a fit into most standard light niches, including but not limited to, a sealed beam light niche. Two thread points on each opposing side on the adapter's face ring, as well as a mounting tab, allow multiple brands and sizes of swimming pool lights to be mechanically fastened, securely to the adapter.

Herein, the debris is caught on the plurality of the bristles coupled to the brush, so it does not collect against the sides and the bottom of the pool, impeding the flow of water in the main pool filter basin.

Abstract: The disclosed pool skimmer apparatus provided includes a brush which when used captures debris from the walls of a pool when scrubbed. Said brush is either attached to the actual skimmer or skimmer has tracks to allow one to remove and replace said brush. The skimmer brush is attached to a pole and when attached to the pole said skimmer is used to brush in an up and down motion or side to side motion with the skimmer (or skimmer net) then capturing the debris which the brush removed from the pool wall.

Pole sections can be joined without visible seams by inserting a pole splice fixedly connected to an interior of a first pole section into an interior of a second pole section and then fixedly connecting the second pole section to the pole splice. The pole splice is preferably a length of pole fixedly attached on its exterior to shims with dimensions closely matching the dimensions of pole section hollow interiors (transverse to a long axis of the pole sections), such that the pole splice contacts the interiors of first and second pole sections in multiple substantially separated locations to thereby prevent lateral movement of the pole sections with respect to each other.

During assembly, the plurality of tent fabric panels are connected together in the shape of a dome, due to elastic force generated by bending of poles and tensile force generated by interlocking of zippers. Since the tent can be directly assembled without checking positions where the components are supposed to be put together, assembly time can be reduced. It is also possible to prevent the components from being separated and lost during transport and storage.

Abstract: An insulator for an electric fence having at least one wire is described. The insulator includes a body having a first end and a second end, a post connector portion at the first end of the body for connecting the insulator to a fence post, a wire attachment portion at the second end of the body, and at least one shield surrounding and extending outwardly from the body at a position away from the connector portion towards the second end, the shield including lateral portions on either side of the body. The lateral portions of the shield angle away from the second end of the body towards the first end of the body, such that when installed a straight section of the wire cannot bear against respective edges of both lateral portions simultaneously, and pass along their entire lengths, without contacting the fence post.

In one embodiment of the water-ballasted protection barrier array, first fence assemblies are placed in a superjacent relationship with barrier segments to form stacked first fence assembly-barrier segment combinations. The water-ballasted protection barrier array may be constructed by placing second fence assemblies in lateral interposed relationships with two stacked first fence assembly-barrier segment combinations. Alternatively, gate assemblies may be placed in lateral interposed relationships with two stacked first fence assembly-barrier segment combinations to buildout the water-ballasted protection barrier array. A system of connecting lugs and connectors having a common vertical axial alignment such that a connecting rod is inserted therethrough to securably join the components of the water-ballasted protection barrier array.

Abstract: An actuator-controlled strike comprising a housing disposable within a doorframe and including a chamber for receiving a spring latch and a dead latch of a mortise-type lockset. A keeper is pivotably mounted within the chamber to restrain the spring latch. A pivotable spring latch lifter is positively driven by the keeper, and a pivotable dead latch release platform is supported by the keeper when the spring latch is locked within the strike. The keeper is released by the actuator and then may be rotated which causes rotation of the dead latch release platform, allowing the dead latch to enter the chamber. The keeper positively drives the spring latch lifter to lift the spring latch onto the external ramp of the strike. In an alternate embodiment, an internal ramp feature may be used instead of the spring latch lifter to positively lift the spring latch out of the chamber.

Abstract: A rose assembly for a door lock in which the rose assembly places the door lock in one of a locked state and an unlocked state. The rose assembly includes a rose moveable with respect to the door. The rose includes a first position, in which the door lock is locked, and a second position, in which the door lock is unlocked. The rose assembly includes a frame which surrounds the rose and in which the rose nests. Pivotal movement of the rose within the frame moves the door lock from the locked state to the unlocked state. The rose pivots at a door lever, and a pivot axis is offset from a centerline of the rose. A larger portion of the rose, defined by the pivot axis, unlocks the door when pressed and a smaller portion of the rose locks the door when pressed.

The lock assembly includes a second lock having a second lock body and a cable. A key is receivable by both the first key receptacle and the second key receptacle and keyed to lock and unlock both the first lock and the second lock.

Outward movement of the lid latch hook, away from the base, may be limited by the latch ramp surface, while inward movement of the lid latch hook, towards the base, may be limited by the latch stop.

Abstract: A pressing type latch device includes a seat, a pivotal seat mounted in the seat, and a handle having a grasping portion pivotably connected to two eccentric locations of the pivotal seat, such that a greater operational height can be formed when the handle is lifted. When the latch device is in one of a plurality of retainable open positions or a retainable closed position, the grasping portion of the handle can be moved to a position to lift the pivotal seat, such that the grasping portion of the handle lies flush with the pivotal seat. On the other hand, when the grasping portion of the handle is lifted to move the pivotal seat downward, the handle and the pivotal seat can rotate freely. Since the latch device includes a closed position and a plurality of open positions, the latch device can be installed and used more easily.

Abstract: A hold open rod assembly includes an outer tubular structure and an inner tubular structure positioned for telescoping movement relative to the outer tubular structure. A locking mechanism retains the hold open rod assembly in an extended state to support a panel of an aircraft in an open position at the selection of a user.
