  • Patent number: 10065067
Abstract: An exercise machine that provides a generally consistent resistive force against a user who walks, steps, or runs away from the machine as part of a strength training exercise program. The machine is built upon a movable frame having transport wheel assemblies that allow the exercise machine to be placed on an indoor floor surface or on the ground outdoors. The frame of the device further supports three parallel spinning assemblies that together allow a length of linear strap attached to the user to run out from the machine and thereafter be retracted or rewound back into the machine. The spinning assemblies include a flywheel assembly, a spool assembly, and a spring assembly, each co-axially arranged on a spin axle extending across the frame. The spring assembly is fixed against the frame and incorporates a coil spring that tightens with the rotation of the spin axle in a first direction (allowing the linear run-out strap to extend out from the spool assembly).

  • Patent number: 10065073
Abstract: A training device or apparatus for improving performance speed. In one embodiment, the training device includes first and second surfaces disposed in an opposing manner and defining a space therebetween. The space can allow at least one body part of an athlete to cyclically travel between the first and second surfaces in a plane that intersects both of the first and second surfaces. The athlete can be supported such that the body part is substantially free from external resistance along a direction of travel within the plane. In this way, repeated movement of a body part can occur between the first and second surfaces without fatiguing muscles due to external resistance, thereby lengthening the duration of the training session. The at least one body part can include the feet of the athlete.

  • Patent number: 10065077
Abstract: A climbing quickdraw is defined by first and second carabiners interconnected by looped webbing that has been overlapped and stitched to define a central, interconnecting portion that has four layers, and carabiner openings that are double layered. The length of webbing is formed in a loop such that the webbing is doubled over on itself until the ends are almost even with each other but not overlapping. The loop is then pressed flat so that the splice is near the center of the flattened loop and the webbing is four layers thick. The webbing is then securely sewn through all four layers on both sides of the splice, leaving an open loop at each end for attaching a carabiner. The new quickdraw can be made from woven webbing or from braided webbing. Braided webbing can be made of stretchy, energy absorbing nylon, giving the quickdraw energy absorbing properties. The braided webbing will also have mechanical properties that will allow it to stretch and absorb energy.

  • Patent number: 10065079
Abstract: Golf ball having a core and a cover of one or more layers, the core being formed of a material molded under heat from a rubber composition including a base rubber, an organic peroxide, and water and/or a metal monocarboxylate. Defining the tan ? slope as (tan ?10?tan ?1)/(10%?1%), where tan ?1 and tan ?10 are the loss tangents at dynamic strains of, respectively, 1% and 10% when the loss tangents of the core center and the core surface are measured at ?12° C. and 15 Hz, the difference between the tan ? slopes at the core surface and the core center is larger than 0.002. Because a core material which undergoes little decrease in resilience over time and experiences little energy loss can be obtained, the golf ball maintains a good rebound, has a reduced spin rate and thus is able to achieve an increased distance.

The tire has a hardness selected to substantially prevent deformation of the first profile and the second profile during riding by a rider.

Abstract: A constrained puzzle device including a housing formed with a radial crescent gutter; one or more slots providing an opening from an outer edge of the housing toward a centerline of the housing; a cartridge wheel nested within the slot and rotatably coupled to the housing, the cartridge wheel having multiple channels passing therethrough. The constrained puzzle device further includes one or more dials rotatably coupled with the housing, the dials configured with structures extending at least partially over the crescent gutter to create one or more pocket regions. Puzzle objects can be disposed within a channel of the cartridge wheel and the slot of the housing, or within the crescent gutter of the housing and a pocket formed by at least one arm member of the dial. The puzzle objects can be moved around in the constrained puzzle device as a user rotates the dials and/or the cartridge wheels.

  • Patent number: 10065108
Abstract: A motion of a first unit is detected based on an output from a first acceleration sensor provided in a first unit of a controller, and a motion of a second unit is detected based on an output from a second acceleration sensor provided in a second unit separate from the first unit. A game control is performed using the detected motions. Thus, with a game apparatus using a plurality of acceleration sensors or a plurality of sensors capable of detecting a motion a dynamic play is made possible with a high degree of freedom of motion and an intuitive motion input is realized.

  • Patent number: 10065111
Abstract: A system maps a user's interaction with a game controller to predefined hand positions that can be used in gaming and multimedia applications. A game controller with sensors receives user input with capacitive sensors and generates sensor outputs. A controller modeling module receives the sensor outputs and trains a model based on the outputs. The trained kinematic model maps the sensor outputs to one or more of a plurality of predefined hand positions. When an application requests the status of a user's hand position, e.g., through an API, the mapped hand position is sent to the application.

  • Patent number: 10065113
Abstract: A virtual reality (VR) system is implemented as a “feel-real” mask attached to standard VR goggles or as a helmet having an integrated feel-real mask and 3-D goggles. A video stream or a video game is rendered to a user via the 3-D goggles from a mobile device or from a PC over a wireless communication channel. The video stream or the video game code has a plurality of inserted markers indicating feel-real sensory events corresponding to the content of the video or the video game. A feel-real player reads the markers and triggers the events, including a stream of warm or cold air, a water mist (or a spray), vibrations and various smells. Thus, the VR system appeals to different user senses apart from traditional ophthalmoception and audioception (i.e., audio and visual) senses and creates enhanced virtual user experience while watching a movie or playing a game.
