Publication number: 20180289990Abstract: A water survival mask that seals to the user's face covering the nose and mouth and preventing the unwanted inhalation of water. The mask lets air in through slots located at the bottom of the mask that also allow water to drain out. If water penetrates through the water impermeable barrier it is caught by splash guards and funneled back out of the mask before it can enter the primary airway of the user. The water survival mask works exceptionally well at preventing inhalation of windblown water droplets or wave water when floating in rough waters, thereby preventing pulmonary aspiration and pulmonary edema. It also prevents immediate inhalation of water do to submersion in cold water.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2017Publication date: October 11, 2018Inventor: Charlie Strand

Publication number: 20180290021Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods are provided for measuring and analyzing movements of a body and for communicating information related to such body movements over a network. In certain embodiments, a system gathers biometric and biomechanical data relating to positions, orientations, and movements of various body parts of a user performed during sports activities, physical rehabilitation, or military or law enforcement activities. The biometric and biomechanical data can be communicated to a local and/or remote interface, which uses digital performance assessment tools to provide a performance evaluation to the user. The performance evaluation may include a graphical representation (e.g., a video), statistical information, and/or a comparison to another user and/or instructor. In some embodiments, the biometric and biomechanical data is communicated wirelessly to one or more devices including a processor, display, and/or data storage medium for further analysis, archiving, and data mining.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2018Publication date: October 11, 2018Inventors: Lee Norman Cusey, Jay Allan Shears, Harold Dan Stirling

Publication number: 20180290022Abstract: The invention relates to a device for training coordinative faculties. The device has at least one movable standing plate; at least one static base plate; at least two connecting elements, the height of which can be modified and which act between the at least one movable standing plate and the at least one static base plate, a user interface; and a control element. The device is designed to specify a sequence of various setpoint positions of the centre of gravity of a user standing on the at least one movable standing plate, each of the setpoint positions being specified for a determined duration, and to continuously measure the actual position of the centre of gravity of the person standing on the moving plate.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2018Publication date: October 11, 2018Inventors: Ronald Naderer, Paolo Ferrara

Publication number: 20180290023Abstract: Wearable electronic devices that are designed to be worn on the head of a user while the user is swimming can determine swimming strokes and swimming performances of the user using motion sensors. Using a sound speaker, the wearable electronic device can play music and provide audio feedback to the swimmer. By comparing the swimming performance of the swimmer wearing the device with previously recorded swimming data, the wearable electronic device can provide audio comparison results to the swimmer while the swimmer is swimming in water. The wearable electronic device can also support similar functions for other sports and physical activities.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2018Publication date: October 11, 2018Inventor: David Shau

Publication number: 20180290024Abstract: Multi-layered golf balls containing a two or three-layered cover assembly are provided. In one embodiment, the cover assembly includes a relatively hard inner cover and relatively soft outer cover. Alternatively, the cover assembly may include a relatively soft inner cover with a relatively hard outer cover. Three-layered covers comprising an inner cover, intermediate cover, and outer cover layer also may be prepared. Preferably, at least one of the layers is formed from a thermoplastic composition that comprises: a) ethylene acid copolymer, b) plasticizer, and c) cation source. A sulfonamide, alkyl diacid ester, or organophosphate or organosulfur compound is preferably used as the plasticizer. The cover assembly has good impact durability and helps provide the ball with relatively high resiliency at given compressions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2018Publication date: October 11, 2018Applicant: Acushnet CompanyInventors: Michael J. Publication number: 20180290026Abstract: An object is to provide a badminton racket capable of easily achieving different performance properties on both sides of the hitting surface easily. A racket includes a frame which extends annularly, a grip, and a string which is stretched across the frame to form a hitting surface on both sides of the frame. The frame is formed to make the front surface portion and the back surface portion thereof asymmetrical in shape in a cross sectional view taken along a plane orthogonal to the extension direction of the frame. The formation of the frame into such an asymmetrical shape makes it possible to change performance properties on shuttlecock hitting between the front and back sides of the hitting surface at the time of hitting the shuttlecock, thus making it possible for the player to obtain two difference capabilities with the single racket simply by changing his or her grip.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2016Publication date: October 11, 2018Applicant: YONEX CO., LTD.Inventors: Yosuke YAMANAKA, Kazuya OTANI, Taketoshi GOTO

Publication number: 20180290027Abstract: An object is to make it possible for a single racket to present different design appearances easily. A racket includes a frame which extends annularly, a grip, and a string which is stretched across the frame to form a hitting surface on both sides of the frame. The frame and the shaft is provided with a first colored portion and a second colored portion. As the racket is viewed from a certain angle in a direction nonparallel and non-orthogonal to the hitting surface, the first colored portion appears visible while the second colored portion is hidden from view, and flipping the hitting surface from this state causes the second colored portion to appear visible and causes the first colored portion to be hidden from view.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2016Publication date: October 11, 2018Applicant: YONEX CO., LTD.Inventors: Yosuke YAMANAKA, Kazuya OTANI, Taketoshi GOTO
