Abstract: A vibratory tablet feeder includes a reservoir for storing a supply of tablets with a pathway that leads to an exit opening for discharging tablets therefrom. Vibration of the reservoir moves tablets as a flow of tablets along the pathway to the exit opening. The feeder can include a wiper spaced vertically from the pathway. The wiper has a wiping surface that is configured to guide at least one vertically-bunched tablet in the flow of tablets away from the exit opening for return to the reservoir in order to provide singulated flow of tablets at the exit opening. A portion of the pathway may define a chamfered edge that is configured to guide at least one horizontally-bunched tablet in the flow of tablets away from the exit opening for return to the reservoir in order to provide singulated flow of tablets at the exit opening.

Abstract: A plastics-material capsule casing which, by virtue of its shaping, undergoes hardly any deformation during the extraction operation and provides for improved penetration of the injection needles of the extraction machine. The capsule casing has a corresponding conical lateral-surface wall which, at the upper periphery, has an outwardly projecting flange and, at the opposite end, is fully closed by a casing floor. The casing floor has a peripheral annular wall which merges from the conical lateral-surface wall via two opposing curvatures in an annular wall. The lower periphery of the annular wall merges into a panel via a thinned region which runs in an inclined manner in relation to the interior. The central panel has a wall thickness corresponding to the wall thickness of the lateral-surface wall. The thinned annular surface here forms an injection membrane.

Abstract: A capsule containing a substance for the preparation of a beverage has an aluminum capsule body and a cover sheet hermetically closing off the capsule. The capsule body has a flange with a deformable sealing ring portion with an inner wall portion extending from and contiguous with an inner base portion of the flange, an outer wall portion extending from and contiguous with an outer base portion of the flange and a bridge portion interconnecting the inner wall portion and the outer wall portion. The bridge portion is located axially spaced from the base portions of the flange. In radial cross-sectional view, a top of the bridge portion axially most remote from the base portions of the flange is flat or has a center plane curved with a radius of curvature larger than two times a wall thickness of the top of the bridge portion.
