  • Patent number: 10258793
Abstract: An embodiment in accordance with the present invention provides a device and method to deliver direct ionic current safely to target neural tissue, while also eliminating interruptions in the output of the device that can result from the non-ideal operation of the valves used to control the current flow in the device. The device includes two valve-operated systems that work in tandem. The first and second current producing systems are configured to be used together in order to eliminate the periodic interruptions in current flow. In use, one system drives current through the target tissue, while the other system closes all of the valves first and then opens its valves in sequence. This intermediate step of closing all of the valves prevents unintended current shunts through either system. The device also includes two conductors to direct the flow of direct current into the target tissue.

  • Patent number: 10258809
Abstract: An antimicrobial treatment system comprises a wearable photoactivation device. The wearable photoactivation device includes a body configured to be positioned on a head of a subject over one or more eyes of the subject. The body includes one or more windows or openings that allow the one or more eyes to see through the body. The body includes one or more photoactivating light sources coupled to the body and configured to direct photoactivating light to the one or more eyes according to illumination parameters. The illumination parameters determine a dose of the photoactivating light that activates, according to photochemical kinetic reactions, a photosensitizer applied to the one or more eyes and generates reactive oxygen species that provide an antimicrobial effect in the one or more eyes, without substantially inducing cross-linking activity that produces biomechanical changes in the one or more eyes.

Abstract: A method for reviewing a treatment plan (24) for delivering radiation therapy to a patient. The treatment plan (24) includes geometric analysis data, dose distribution analysis data, dose volume histogram data, parametric analysis data or deliverability analysis data of a patient. First, for the treatment plan (24), a plurality of clinical and delivery goals are identified (20, 22). Next, goal data points are extracted (26) from the treatment plan (24). Then, data points are correlated (28) to identify deficiencies in the treatment plan (24). A report is generated (30) to display on a display (10) the correlated data points using visual markings (84) to highlight identified deficiencies. Text and audio notations can be attached to the report to explain the correlations and warn a user of plan deficiencies.

Abstract: A medical image processing apparatus of an embodiment has acquisitor, a first landmark detector, and an estimator. The acquisitor acquires a perspective image of an object to be treated imaged by an imaging apparatus. The first landmark detector detects a position of a landmark that appears in the perspective image acquired by the acquisitor. The estimator, based on relationship information indicating a relationship between the position of landmark and the position of a target, estimates the position of the search-for location of the object to be treated from the position of the landmark detected by the first landmark detector.

  • Patent number: 10258815
Abstract: A collapsible cooking oil fire extinguishing device having a shaft with two rigid support arms for support of a fire resistant material. An automatic locking mechanism with a manual pivot mechanism enables changing the device between a collapsed storage position and an expanded usage position. The rigid support arms extend only partially around the perimeter of the fire resistant material, which enables the fire resistant material to tightly cover a cooking oil fire in a vessel with a handle. The pivot mechanism, automatic locking means, and rigid support arms allow the user to exert downward pressure on the burning vessel, thereby creating an airtight seal, cutting off the supply of oxygen and extinguishing the fire. The spring in the automatic locking mechanism is not under compression in the storage position, which increases reliability and prevents malfunction during long periods of time in the storage position.
