Abstract: This control apparatus of an engine includes an engine, a state quantity setting device, an injector, a spark plug, and a controller. The controller outputs a control signal to the spark plug at a predetermined ignition timing such that, after air-fuel mixture is ignited and combustion is started, unburned air-fuel mixture is combusted by autoignition, and the controller advances an ignition timing when the temperature before start of compression in a combustion chamber is to be reduced.

Abstract: A control apparatus for a compression autoignition engine includes an engine, a state quantity setting device, a spark plug, and a controller. After the spark plug ignites air-fuel mixture to start combustion, unburned air-fuel mixture is combusted by autoignition. The controller changes, according to an operation state of the engine, a heat amount ratio that represents an index associated with a ratio of an amount of heat generated by air-fuel mixture being combusted by flame propagation, to a total amount of heat generated by air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber being combusted.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for cooling an engine by operating an electrically driven intake air compressor. In one example, in response to a determination, based on a measured or inferred engine temperature, that the engine temperature is greater than a threshold temperature, employing the vehicle's electrically driven intake air compressor to route air through a charge air cooler and engine cylinders, while engine spins unfueled. In this way the engine temperature may be reduced even under conditions not normally amenable to engine cooling, such as at idle-stops or when an engine coolant system is degraded.

Abstract: The silence of a diesel engine is enhanced. A PCM detects an actual supercharging pressure of a gas, and controls an injection mode of a fuel through an injector, thereby executing main injection that is started near a compression top dead center or pilot injection that is executed prior to the main injection depending on an operating state of an engine. If the degree of opening of an accelerator pedal decreases during operation of a large turbocharger, and the actual supercharging pressure is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, the PCM executes cylinder pressure control that allows an interval between a start timing of the pilot injection and a start timing of the main injection to be broader than if the actual supercharging pressure is less than a predetermined value.

The method includes setting a target temperature, inputting physical conditions of the blade and ambient conditions about the blade into a processor, outputting a minimum amount of energy to a heating element of the blade required to reach the target temperature based on the physical conditions and ambient conditions, and adjusting the energy provided to the heating element to reach the target temperature.

Abstract: The invention relates to a wind turbine comprising a plurality of individual yaw bearing units and a method of replacing a pad of such a yaw bearing unit. The yaw bearing unit comprises a calliper structure divided into an upper portion and a lower portion, wherein the lower portion can be dismounted without also dismounting the upper portion. An upper pad is provided between a flange providing support for a nacelle and a mainframe of the nacelle. A radial pad is arranged on a radial surface of the upper portion and contacts a stop element located at either ends of the upper portion. An adjustable lower pad is arranged in a through hole in the lower portion and can be replaced via a lower opening in the lower portion. The radial pad can be replaced in a sideward direction by removing one of the stop elements or replacing it in an axial direction by removing the lower portion.

Abstract: A constant-volume metering pump includes a pump body, a solenoid device, and a piston pump inside the pump body. The solenoid device includes an armature, and the piston pump includes a sleeve, a piston, an inlet valve, and an outlet valve. The sleeve includes an inner sleeve bore. The inner sleeve bore conforms with the external surface of the piston and can slide freely. The piston pump divides the interior pump body into a low-pressure space and a pressure feed space. Liquid enters the pressure feed space from the low pressure space through the inlet valve and is output through the outlet valve, wherein the sleeve connects with the armature and keeps synchronous reciprocating motions. The solenoid-driven device drives the sleeve to perform a motion relative to the piston, causing output of liquid. The output quantity of liquid due to such relative motion is defined by the geometric construction.

Abstract: The unload circuit includes a pump oil passage that connects between a hydraulic pump and a direction control valve, a tank oil passage that connects between the direction control valve and a hydraulic tank, a pressure compensating flow control valve interposed between the pump oil passage and the tank oil passage, a pilot operated relief valve interposed between the pump oil passage and the tank oil passage, and an unloading solenoid valve interposed in a vent oil passage of the pilot operated relief valve. The failure diagnosis device includes a pressure sensor that measures a pressure of the pump oil passage, and a controller that receives a pressure signal from the pressure sensor. The controller performs failure diagnosis of the unload circuit based on a differential pressure between a first pump oil passage pressure during unloading and a second pump oil passage pressure during on-loading.
