  • Patent number: 10300658
Abstract: Electronic device housing structures and other structures may be formed from molded plastic. Plastic structures such as injection molding housing structures and other structures may be provided with openings. An opening may have sidewall surfaces. Machining operations and other techniques may be used in forming the openings. Openings may be processed to enhance resistance to stress-induced cracking of the plastic structures along the sidewall surfaces. Cracking resistance may be obtained by activating the surface using heat or laser treatment and by electroplating the activated surface to form a metal liner structure. Surface treatments using applied liquid chemicals or heat may form a treated layer on the surface of an opening with enhanced cracking resistance. A plastic sleeve or other insert may form a liner structure in an opening that resists cracking. Liner structures may also be formed by applying heat or light to a coating in an opening.

  • Patent number: 10300689
Abstract: A web press system including a first printbar, a first sensor, a second printbar, a second sensor, and a controller. The first printbar prints first user content on a first side of a web of media. The first sensor senses a pattern on the web of media and provides first sensor data as the first printbar prints the first user content. A second printbar prints second user content on the first side of the web of media. The second sensor senses the pattern on the web of media and provides second sensor data as the second printbar prints the second user content. The controller determines an amount of expansion of the web of media in a direction perpendicular to a web advanced direction based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data and modifies printing performed by the second printbar based on the amount of expansion.

  • Patent number: 10300691
Abstract: A wide array printhead module includes a plurality of printhead die, each of the printhead die includes a number of nozzles. The nozzles form a number of primitives. A nozzle firing heater is coupled to each of the nozzles. An application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) controls a number of activation pluses that activate the nozzle firing heaters for each of the nozzles associated with the primitives. The activation pulses are delayed between each of the primitives via internal delays and external delays to reduce peak power demands of the printhead die. The ASIC determines the internal delays within each printhead die.

Abstract: An inkjet printhead includes an inkjet nozzle with a main actuator and a peripheral actuator in a firing chamber. A determination is made as to whether the inkjet nozzle has sat idle, e.g., not firing for a threshold period of time. When the inkjet nozzle has sat idle, both the main actuator and the peripheral actuator are activated to jet at least one ink drop. When the inkjet nozzle has not sat idle, only the main actuator is activated to jet ink drops.

  • Patent number: 10300694
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a time-division driving unit configured to divide a plurality of printing elements into a plurality of blocks, and between a target reference signal and the next reference signal, and to drive the plurality of printing elements at a time interval for each of the blocks on a basis of the target reference signal to thereby perform one column of printing. In a case where, in a first column, a time, which is after the target reference signal is acquired and until the next reference signal is acquired, is shorter than a time required for one column of printing, the time-division driving unit drives the plurality of printing elements so that a time required for printing the second column, in which the next printing is performed, becomes shorter than a time required for one column of printing in the first column.
