Abstract: A method of vehicular control includes providing a camera and a control at a vehicle, and maneuvering the vehicle along a road while capturing image data via the camera. Image data captured by the camera is processed at the control to determine presence of a stopping area ahead of the vehicle and being approached by the vehicle as the vehicle is maneuvered along the road. Responsive to determination of presence of the stopping area, the operating capacity of the vehicle engine is reduced so that the engine operates at reduced capacity as the vehicle moves toward and stops at the determined stopping area. After stopping the vehicle at the stopping area, the control determines if a hazard is present in the field of view of the camera. Abstract: A system for noise and vibration management of a smoke evacuation system includes a pump that compresses air and produces a pressure differential within an airflow path. The pump may be a sealed, positive displacement pump. The system includes vibration absorption mechanisms disposed between inner and outer housings, as well as on the outside surface of the outer housing. Methods of controlling and regulating a motor of the system to preserve the lifespan of the motor and maintain consistent airflow rates throughout the smoke evacuation system include varying a supply of electrical current to the motor so that it can operate at variable performance levels. Orifices are opened and closed in order to relieve resistance pressures within the airflow path due to clogging and blockages.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine, with a conical screw integrated compression system, that utilizes at least one conical screw as an intermediary fluid transport device to facilitate the multi-staging of non-axial compressors, such as centrifugal and diagonal compressors, as well as or alternatively to combine non-axial compressors to axial compressors and to the fan. The conical screw in the compression system applies axial flow translation and funnels, as necessary, the exit flow of the impeller, fan or compressor into the next impeller or compressor.

Abstract: To provide a pump device configured such that the impeller can be prevented from being moved toward a case body by which a pump chamber is defined. An impeller is arranged in a pump chamber defined by a case body and an end wall portion of a motor. The impeller includes back blades protruding from a shroud toward the end wall portion of the motor. When the impeller is driven to circulate fluid through the pump chamber, a fluid is drawn out by the back blades from a clearance between the impeller and the end wall portion of the motor. Therefore, the impeller is moved by the negative pressure toward the end wall portion of the motor. The back blades function as a suction power generation mechanism configured to generate suction power sucking the impeller toward the end wall portion.
