Abstract: A shock absorbing helmet includes an outer shell, an inner shock absorbing liner attached to the outer shell, and multiple compressible balls coupled with the outer shell and/or the shock absorbing liner in such a way that the compressible balls are free to move, relative to the outer shell and the shock absorbing liner, when the helmet is impacted by an object. A method of manufacturing a shock absorbing helmet involves forming an outer shell of the helmet, forming a shock absorbing liner of the helmet, attaching multiple compressible balls to the outer shell and/or the shock absorbing liner in such a way that the compressible balls are free to move, relative to the outer shell and the shock absorbing liner, when the helmet is impacted by an object, and attaching the outer shell to the shock absorbing liner.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for a modular helmet apparatus and system comprised of a removable outer shell disposed on an inner frame. The disclosed football helmet provides for enhanced energy diffusion through the use of one or more energy diffusion areas disposed on an outer shell of the helmet, the one or more energy diffusion areas being configured to align with the energy diffusion zones of the frame. Embodiments of the present disclosure enables a user to quickly and easily replace or swap the outer shell of the helmet with a second or replacement shell by selectively coupling the desired outer shell with the frame.

Abstract: An apparatus for aligning materials in order to construct an article is provided. The apparatus may include an array of moveable pins and a solid plate having an array of holes, where the array of holes is aligned with the array of pins. Each pin may be extended and/or retracted by a programmable actuator array. When a pin is extended, at least a portion of the pin may extend through the hole with which it is aligned, such that at least a portion of the pin extends beyond the solid plate. A fraction of the total number of pins in the array of pins may be extended by the programmable actuator array. The particular pins that are to be extended may be based on a pattern for an article. A material that is to be used in constructing the article may be aligned using the extended pins.

The result is a proper symbol that connects two friends to each other by wearing half of a bracelet that used to be one single bracelet before being torn in two. The friendship bracelet according to another embodiment of the present invention that appears as one but can be torn into a plurality of individual bracelets for each friend in a group to wear and be connected to one another is also disclosed.

Abstract: A quick and efficient method to raise and lower a storage platform, storage container, and/or storage box into any unused overhead space is disclosed. The design comprises a low profile philosophy allowing the storage platform, storage container, and/or storage box to be positioned more closely to the ceiling making better use of any overhead space such as the limited space directly above a garage door. The system relies on a main drive shaft that is designed to allow one or more belts to pass through the main drive shaft thereby creating a base around which the one or more belts can wrap. The present invention is superior to those of the prior art in that there are no weak points found in this system in contrast to those found in cable systems connected to a drum or a flat fiber reinforced strap bolted to a drum. The one or more lifting straps do not terminate on the main drive shaft as do other systems via a wire drum or flat drum but simply passes through the main drive shaft.

A toroidal support structure comprises one or more side panels forming a tubular ring and one or more floor panels forming a planar ring. These rings define the toroidal shape of the structure. The structure also comprises multiple isolating linear support components connected to a top edge of the tubular ring. During installation of the structure, the isolating linear support components are attached to a mounting base for supporting the structure relative to the base, while providing thermal isolation to the rings and preventing their mechanical distortion. As such, a toroidal support structure can be attached to various types of mounting bases, such as a cryogenic tank of a spacecraft. Both rings provide supporting and mounting surfaces for equipment, cables, and pipes, while the toroidal opening allows external components to protrude through the support structure.
