  • Patent number: 10328270
Abstract: An intracardiac pacemaker system is configured to produce physiological atrial event signals by a sensing circuit of a ventricular intracardiac pacemaker and select a first atrial event input as the physiological atrial event signals. The ventricular intracardiac pacemaker detects atrial events from the selected first atrial event input, determines if input switching criteria are met, and switches from the first atrial event input to a second atrial event input in response to the input switching criteria being met. The second atrial event input includes broadcast atrial event signals produced by a second implantable medical device and received by the ventricular intracardiac pacemaker.

  • Patent number: 10328273
Abstract: Medical devices include a separate enclosure that houses a battery and electrically isolates the battery from external conditions such as any metal enclosures and ultimately isolates the battery from body fluids. Thus, the separate enclosure attaches to a housing of a medical device and provides for modularity of the battery which allows, for instance, different size batteries to be used with the same medical device design. The separate enclosure further prevents stimulation current from leaking back to the battery housing by providing the electrical isolation.

  • Patent number: 10328274
Abstract: A cardiac medical system, such as an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) system, receives a cardiac electrical signal by and senses cardiac events when the signal crosses an R-wave sensing threshold. The system determines at least one sensed event parameter from the cardiac electrical signal for consecutive cardiac events sensed by the sensing circuit and compares the sensed event parameters to P-wave oversensing criteria. The system detects P-wave oversensing in response to the sensed event parameters meeting the P-wave oversensing criteria; and adjusts at least one of an R-wave sensing control parameter or a therapy delivery control parameter in response to detecting the P-wave oversensing.

  • Patent number: 10328276
Abstract: The LEDs in a phototherapy LED pad are controlled so that the intensity of the light varies in accordance with a sinusoidal function, thereby eliminating the harmonics that are generated when the LEDs are pulsed digitally, in accordance with a square-wave function. This is accomplished analogically by using a sinusoidal wave to control the gate of a MOSFET connected in series with the LEDs or by using a digital-to-analog converter to control the gate of the MOSFET with a stair step function representative of the values of a sinusoidal function at predetermined intervals. Alternatively, pulse-width modulation is used to control the gate of the MOSFET in such a way that the average current through the LEDs simulates a sinusoidal function. In additional to using a simple sine wave function, the LED current may also be controlled in accordance with “chords” containing multiple sine waves of different frequencies.

  • Patent number: 10328278
Abstract: A device for loading brachytherapy seeds and spacers into a sleeve. The device holds two or more seed or spacer cartridges of different radioactive species and dosage. The user rotates a selector for selecting a desired cartridge and, with each depression of a spring-biased plunger, pushes a seed or spacer into a channel in an inspection area. The process is repeated for the desired number and order of seeds and spacers in sequence to form a strand. The strand can be seen in the channel with the unaided eye through a transparent window. The window is part of a hinged door that can be opened and the sequence of the seeds and spacers rearranged with forceps. Once the strand is arranged as desired, it is pushed into a sleeve in a removable sleeve holder. During radiation treatment, the filled sleeve is removed from the sleeve holder and implanted into patient.

  • Patent number: 10328282
Abstract: A system and methods are provided for generating intensity modulated proton therapy plans robust to various kinds of delivery uncertainties with the capability for treatment planners to control the balance between plan quality and robustness. The system obtains a representation of a subject and a proton beam configuration that describes a number of beamlets and their respective arrangement. The system computes an objective function, in the treatment planning system, first part of which is about dose deviations from the prescribed dose in the target volumes, second part of which is about dose deviations from the dose constraint in the non-target volumes, and computing dose volume constraints for targets using a probability to control the dose distribution in the target volumes to be between a lower threshold and an upper threshold. Based on this information, the system obtains a robust chance-constrained treatment planning model with a user-adjustable tolerance level.

  • Patent number: 10328309
Abstract: Athletic performance monitoring systems and methods, many of which utilize, in some manner, global positioning satellite (“GPS”) data, provide data and information to athletes and/or to equipment used by athletes during an athletic event. Such systems and methods may provide route information to athletes and/or their trainers, e.g., for pre-event planning, goal setting, and calibration purposes. Such systems and methods optionally may provide real time information to the athlete while the event takes place, e.g., to assist in reaching the pre-set goals. Additionally, data and information collected by such systems and methods may assist in post-event analysis for athletes and their trainers, e.g., to evaluate past performances and to assist in improving future performances.

  • Patent number: 10328311
Abstract: Golf ball comprising cast layer of thermoset polymer mixture having centering time Ct1 and consisting of: (i) a thermoset polymer composition consisting of polyurethane composition, polyurea composition, and/or polyurethane/polyurea hybrid composition; and (ii) a treated fumed silica compound in an amount such that centering time Ct1 is independent of the thermoset polymer mixture's degree of cure and lower than a centering time Ct2 of the thermoset polymer composition (which is dependent on its gel window Gw). The treated fumed silica compound may be surface treated with at least one of polydimethylsiloxane, hexamethyldisilazane, and dimethyldichlorosilane. In some embodiments, delta time ?t1 between a dispensing time Dt1 of the thermoset polymer mixture and centering time Ct1 is less than a delta time ?t2 between Ct1 and centering time Ct2. Centering time Ct1 and dispensing time Dt1 may differ by less than 10 seconds or even by 5 seconds or less.

  • Patent number: 10328312
Abstract: Multi-piece golf balls containing a dual-layered core are provided. The ball further includes single or multi-layered covers. The core structure includes a small, heavy inner core (center) having a relatively high specific gravity, and a surrounding outer core layer. The core layers may have different hardness gradients. The center of the core comprises a metal material such as copper, steel, brass, tungsten, titanium, aluminum, and combinations and alloys thereof preferably dispersed in a thermoplastic polymeric matrix. The outer core layer is preferably formed from a thermoset composition such as polybutadiene. These multi-layered core constructions with metal-containing centers have selective specific gravity relationships between the different layers. This helps provide the ball with good flight distance and spin control. The resulting balls have good resiliency and other playing performance properties.

  • Patent number: 10328314
Abstract: Multi-layered golf balls containing a two-layered core assembly are provided. Preferably, at least one of the core layers is formed from a thermoplastic composition that comprises: a) thermoplastic non-acid polymer, and b) plasticizer. In one preferred embodiment, the inner core is made of a first thermoplastic composition comprising the non-acid polymer and plasticizer; and the outer core layer is made of a second thermoplastic composition. For example, an ethylene acid copolymer may be used to form the outer core layer. A fatty acid ester such as ethyl oleate is preferably used as the plasticizer. Suitable non-acid polymers include, for example, polyesters, polyamides, polyolefins, and polyurethanes. The core assembly has a relatively high resiliency at given compressions.
