Patent number: 10329769Abstract: The present subject matter comprises a simple, passive skylight dome with relatively tall partially vertical sides comprising partially transparent material which diffuses the transmitted light, and a mostly opaque sun shade near the top of the relatively tall partially vertical sides. The partially vertical sides are able to better intercept sunlight from low sun elevation angles than conventional horizontal skylights. The mostly opaque sun shade is able to block sunlight from high sun elevation angles to prevent such sunlight from entering the building below the dome. By enhancing the collection of low-sun-elevation-angle light, the subject matter improves the daylight performance of the skylight early and late in the day, and all day in the winter months. By reducing the collection of high-sun-elevation-angle light, the subject matter reduces the solar heat gain near solar noon in the summer months, thereby reducing air conditioning loads and related costs.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2018Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: Entech Solar, IncInventor: David Gelbaum

Patent number: 10329770Abstract: Apparatus for removing debris includes an elongated hollow structure with at least a portion of the elongated structure extends in a curved configuration and the elongated hollow structure includes a sidewall which defines an opening which extends within and along the elongated structure and defines a first and second apertures spaced apart from one another in communication with the opening wherein the first and second apertures face in the same direction. An elongated insert member includes a width dimension smaller than a width dimension of the opening which extends within and along the elongated structure; a rod; and a ram component constructed of a flexible conduit connected to the rod. The rod has a stiffer construction than the ram component.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2018Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Inventor: James Fuoco

Patent number: 10329771Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for providing a retrofit and repair technique and device for asphalt shingle roof coverings or roofing systems that exhibit premature adhesive tab seal failures. A device can have a handle at one end and a blade tip end at the other end has the blade tip inserted under a shingle to be repaired. The device can dispense a row of “dabs” at a selected location under roof shingle(s). The dispenser can dispense a row of individual “dabs” by a volume container. Alternatively, the dispenser can have a roll with a plurality of rows of pre-made “dabs” of adhesive on removable type paper. Once the blade tip end of the tool device is inserted between upper and lower shingles, the dabs are dispensed by removing the release paper, and the device is pulled out with the release tape is wound up, advancing the adhesive cylinders. Next, the worker can press down on the upper shingle.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2017Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: University of Florida Research Foundation, Inc.Inventors: David O. Patent number: 10329776Abstract: A floor panel is of synthetic material and forms a layer-shaped substrate with first and second pairs of opposite edges. The first pair of opposite edges has coupling parts forming a first mechanical locking system, which, in a coupled condition of two of such floor panels, effects a locking in the plane of the floor panels and perpendicular to the respective edges, and forms a second mechanical locking system, which, in a coupled condition of two of such floor panels, effects a locking transverse to the plane of the panels. The coupling parts on the first pair of opposite edges are realized substantially in the material of the floor panel itself. The floor panel is provided with an edge configuration on the second pair of edges allowing two of such floor panels to be positioned with their respective edge alongside each other and free from mechanical horizontally active locking systems.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2016Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: FLOORING INDUSTRIES LIMITED, SARLInventors: Laurent Meersseman, Luc Vanhastel, Guy Van Hooydonck
