Abstract: The present invention describes a process to prepare catalyst systems based on metal salts, supported on natural polymers and co-catalyzed by organic bases, for the catalytic transformation of carbon dioxide to organic carbonates through cycloaddition reactions to epoxides. The advantages of the presented system can be summarized on the use of raw materials of low cost for the preparation of the catalyst system, minimal environmental risk due to the low toxicity of the materials used, in some cases biodegradable such as the natural polymers, as well as high catalytic efficiency, reaching selectivities up to 100% and in some cases quantitative yields.

Abstract: The 3-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) decorated magnetic more-aluminosilicate shell Na(Si2Al)O6.xH2O/NiFe2O4 structures were hydrothermally prepared and were well characterized by different analysis methods. The XRD patterns were truly proved the formation of the aluminosilicate layer on the surface of the magnetic cores. In addition to the TGA curve which implied on the presence of the GPTMS organic segment, nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms demonstrated that the final sample has high specific surface area. The products were incredibly able to remove the toxic lead and cadmium ions from the wastewaters. Furthermore, the mechanism of the sorption and the role of GPTMS in enhancing the sorption capacity of the structures were comprehensively discussed.

Abstract: A coating device includes a nozzle, a pressure wave imparting component, and a controller. For each discharge of the coating liquid, the controller causes the pressure wave imparting component to perform a shaking operation that generates a pressure wave in the coating liquid inside the nozzle to an extent that a droplet is not discharged from the nozzle and the coating liquid is shaken in the nozzle, and a discharge operation that generates a pressure wave in the coating liquid inside the nozzle to an extent that a droplet is discharged from the nozzle after the shaking operation. The drive of the pressure wave imparting component in the shaking operation and the drive of the pressure wave imparting component in the discharge operation are kept constant, and a waiting time between the shaking operation and the discharge operation is adjusted.

Abstract: A grip member and a method of making such a grip member including at least a polymerized region with two or more polymers. The first and second polymers cooperate to each form a portion of the top surface of the region. The region may be combined with a substrate to form a sheet. The sheet may be formed into a grip interface having any of a number of shapes including a panel shape. In the case of a panel shaped grip interface, the panel can then be attached to an underlisting sleeve to form the grip. Some versions of such a grip reduce impact shock and provide a feeling of tackiness in the manner of a spirally wrapped polyurethane-felt grip while allowing the use of multiple colors being polymerized together. The grip may be easily installed onto a golf club shaft and may further accommodate the use of polymers including various different characteristics including level of tackiness or durometer.
