Publication number: 20190195513Abstract: A solar power system has a photovoltaic module that supplies electrical current derived from sunlight to a heater system of a hot water tank. The heater system uses the electrical energy from the photovoltaic module, and optionally also from a local power grid, to heat water up to a selected maximum stored hot water temperature. Control circuitry senses when the level of electrical power is below a threshold solar-power level, and in response sets the stored hot water temperature for the heater system to a first lower temperature value. The control circuitry also senses when the level of electrical power is above the threshold solar-power level, an in response sets the stored hot water temperature for the heater system to a second elevated temperature value higher than the lower temperature, making advantageous use of solar power when available. A mixing unit adds cold water to set the dispensed water temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2018Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventors: Carlos J. Colon, Danny S. Parker

Publication number: 20190195514Abstract: A common vent application and an independent fan coil are disclosed for improved heating, cooling and water making in a building. The independent fan coil obviates the common boilers and chillers in addition to all the common heating and cooling distribution piping used in known systems. Instead, the fan coils contain all the hydronic heating components and all the components needed to provide AC without the use of common boilers and chilled water systems. The fan coils utilize common vent shaft ducting to exhaust the products of combustion generated for the independent tankless water heater. In addition, the common vent shaft may utilize a negative static pressure environment to exhaust the heat of rejection from the AC portion of the fan coil unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2018Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventor: Keith Richard White

Publication number: 20190195527Abstract: A control system can provide a linear behavior of airflow as a function of damper position of each zone damper in an HVAC system. The control system incrementally closes each zone damper from a fully open position to a fully closed position, and records static pressure measurements with each change in damper position. Publication number: 20190195554Abstract: A system and method for producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a natural gas stream. Each of a plurality of LNG trains liquefies a portion of the natural gas stream to generate a warm LNG stream in a first operating mode, and a cold LNG stream in a second operating mode. A sub-cooling unit is configured to, in the first operating mode, sub-cool the warm LNG stream to thereby generate a combined cold LNG stream. Publication number: 20190195555Abstract: A method for operating a main cryogenic heat exchanger for use in a natural gas liquefaction process, involves monitoring or predicting variations in the flow rate of a feed gas stream provided to the main cryogenic heat exchanger. When a variation of the flow rate exceeding a predetermined threshold value is monitored or predicted, a control scheme is started to control one or more compressor recycle valves in response to the monitored or predicted variation of the flow rate to recycle part of a compressed mixed refrigerant stream in a refrigerant loop.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2017Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventors: Jeroen VAN DE RIJT, Pierre Christian Marie CARRETTE, Hossein KHAJAVI

Publication number: 20190195556Abstract: A method for dehydration and critical point drying of a sample in a single chamber is introduced, comprising the steps of (a) dehydrating the sample by replacing water by an intermediate fluid, (b) replacing the intermediate fluid by a transitional fluid, (c) pressurising the transitional fluid to or beyond its critical pressure and/or heating the transitional fluid (4 to or beyond its critical temperature, and (d) in response to gradually releasing the pressure, letting the transitional fluid gasify and escape from the sample. In step (a) and/or step (b), a ratio of the fluid to-be-replaced to the replacing fluid is measured and used to control a supply of the replacing fluid. The method reduces consumption of intermediate fluid and/or transitional fluid, making the process more efficient in terms of duration and user interaction while ensuring a high degree of dryness and the integrity of the sample.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2018Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventors: Patrick CAPEDER, Walter COLLEONI, Christof GRAF

Publication number: 20190195557Abstract: A drainage system for drying frac sand without heat comprises multiple layers through which liquid passes to dewater sand resting on the drainage system. At the bottom of the drainage system, perforated collection pipes, at least partially surrounded by rocks, collect the liquid and carry it to a collection pond for reuse. A cellular confinement layer comprises sections of panels which, upon expansion, have cells filled with rocks. A woven monofilament geotextile fabric layer comprising woven monofilament geotextile fabric sheets sewn together has sized openings which allow fluid, but prevent sand from passing through the openings. The top layer comprises perforated sheets of high density polyethylene welded together. A watertight liner sits below the perforated collection pipes and below the cellular confinement layer. Protective layers above and below the watertight liner prevent rocks from damaging the watertight liner.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2017Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventors: Robbie W. Publication number: 20190195558Abstract: A nail lamp is configured to cure light-curable nail product on a user's nail. The lamp includes a base and a support with discrete light sources that each may emit with the same or different light wavelength profiles, and each may emit continuously or with the same or different pulsing functions. The lamp also includes source reflectors and a ring reflector. The different wavelength profiles are configured to, in combination, cure a light-curable nail product. The pulsing function is used to cure the nail product more efficiently. The source reflectors and ring reflector are used to target specific areas of the nail. A space is disposed between the base and the support and is sized to accommodate therein the nails of an appendage of a user so as to expose the user's nails to light from the discrete light sources.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2019Publication date: June 27, 2019Applicant: Revlon Consumer Products CorporationInventors: David Valia, Thong Vu, Daniel Moore, Juan Luis Heredia Ferrer, Sergio Garcia Paos, Yin-Jung Lee
