  • Patent number: 10363650
Abstract: In a rack and pinion mechanism 80, a driving-side pinion gear 83 and a driven-side pinion gear 86 are provided to be coaxially rotatable relative to each other within a predetermined angle range. Because of this construction, in a case where a time when a driver 3 reaches an advancing end position and contacts an advancing end damper 19 deviates from a time when a weight device 5 reaches a retracting end position and contacts a moving end damper 7, an excessive external force is not applied to engaging teeth 81a and 82a by relative rotation of the pinion gears 83 and 86. Thus, due to this construction, durability of the rack and pinion mechanism 80, where end impacts are absorbed through elastic deformation, is improved.

  • Patent number: 10363684
Abstract: Disclosed are method and system for treating concrete in mixing drums of delivery vehicles having automated rheology (e.g., slump) monitoring systems programmed to dose fluids into concrete based on the monitored rheology. The present invention takes into account a Revolution-To-Discharge value (“RTD”) which reflects drum rotations needed to move concrete towards and through the mixing drum opening from which concrete is discharged, and also takes into consideration a Volume-Per-Revolution-Upon-Discharge (“VPRUD”) value which reflects the relation between the rate of discharge and rheology (e.g., slump) of concrete upon discharge. The invention is especially useful for reclaiming concrete in the drum after delivery and can confirm rheology based upon peak (maximum) discharge pressure. The present inventors found surprisingly that discharge pressure readings are useful for recalibrating automated rheology monitoring systems as well as for reporting and/or treating the remainder concrete.

  • Patent number: 10363685
Abstract: In an ingot cutting apparatus that cuts an ingot using a plurality of stretched wires, load sensors are provided on the new wire side and the old wire side of the ingot, and loads applied to the new wire side and the old wire side of the ingot are measured using the load sensors on the new wire side and the old wire side. When measuring the loads, for example, the center of moment about the X-axis that is the running direction of the wire is calculated. When the deviation from the center of gravity of the ingot is greater than or equal to a reference value, notification for replacement of the wire, control of the conveying speed of the wire, control of the pressing speed of the ingot, and so forth are performed through a control unit.

Abstract: An apparatus for melting thermoplastic material is disclosed. The apparatus includes a heated manifold and at least one heating element disposed within the heated manifold. The heated manifold defines a plurality of cavities, a pump supply passage, and a discharge passage. The plurality of cavities are spaced apart from one another, and each receives particles of thermoplastic material from a hopper. The particles of thermoplastic material are melted within the plurality of cavities. The pump supply passage receives molten thermoplastic material from the plurality of cavities and supplies the molten thermoplastic material to a pump. The discharge passage receives pressurized molten thermoplastic material from the pump and is in fluid communication with a dispenser. The heating element transfers heat substantially throughout the heated manifold.
