Abstract: A coating applied to substrates such as papers and films yields a haptic sensation of skin, leather, velvety fabric or soft elastomers. Commonly referred to as a ‘soft touch’ coating, it retains the desired haptic appeal after being over-printed by various imaging ink systems. Improved haptic sensations are provided by expandable microspheres that impart a surface topography that is measured in micron and sub-micron undulations that align with the texture of the human finger skin. Non-skid behavior arises from the surface topography having enough undulations of such fine frequency that air is evacuated between the coating and any substantially smooth surface that a strong attraction is caused by a temporary vacuum when the coating is pressed against smooth surfaces.

Abstract: A stress tearable tape includes an elongated film and a hand tearing arrangement. The film has a non-adhesive surface and an opposed adhesive surface, and defines a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction. The hand tearing arrangement includes a plurality of pinholes formed along the longitudinal direction of the film. With the combination application of internal force, shear tension, compression tension, pinhole arrangement, and material's biaxial structure, and users' habit together, each of the pinholes enables the film being torn by hand with a force starting at one of the pinholes, such that the film is hand tearable at any section in the transverse direction thereof.

In the acryl-based base polymer, the content of the urethane-based segment is 3 to 20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the acryl-based segment. A pressure sensitive adhesive sheet can be obtained by applying a pressure sensitive adhesive composition on a substrate in a layer form. The pressure sensitive adhesive composition may be curable and may include a polymerization initiator. In formation of the pressure sensitive adhesive sheet, the curable pressure sensitive adhesive composition may be, as necessary.

Abstract: An adhesive formulation is provided that is a waterborne bonding adhesive for adhering sheet membranes that may incorporate a solid plasticizer. The formulation is fast-curing and develops bond strength rapidly after application to a substrate as the adhesive dries, when the sheet membrane is mated to the substrate. The fast-curing characteristic is important to ensure the membrane is not displaced from the surface in windy exterior applications. The adhesive is formulated to form the bond between sheet membranes to substrates that illustratively include, steel, wood, concrete, roof boards, insulation, and fiberglass mat roof boards.
